First time I went to TOFS tonight and made it to the 4th floor. We ran smack into Narmak and killed him (rather easily). He dropped the shield, but their were no SK's with us so we rolled. I won, wohoo! I play on a pk server so my little sk twink will be happy with the MR. Pricing data seems kinda high, does anyone who plays on pvp have a realistic price?

Bought one of these tonight for 700pp, Pricing Data says 4,333pp is that acurrate? Did I get a good deal?

I'm part of a group that loves this place. My party consists of:
Druid 44
Wizard 44
Paladin 42
Paladin 41
Paladin 40
Ranger 40
We went to the 4th floor last night and camped the zone entry point for 2 hours. Our loot included:
(2) Shield of Shadows
(2) Ro's Fiery Sundering Spell
(1) Tumultous Str Spell
Several Gnome Skin armor pieces
Several low value weapons
I've read about rare drops occuring back to back but this was the first time I've witnessed such an event.

And I cant get a Shield of Shadows if this %$@&&% Guy wont drop one!!! Ni kidding, Ive killed this guy like 12 times and no confounded shield!!! Why does Cazic-Thule Curse me so?!!!

If you don't have anything for secondary slot which can give you MR this is a nice item. I am currently using a ClayGS but switch to this when fighting casters. 12 VS magic is a nice boost.

I am a lvl 39 DE SK and I just got the Ashenbone shield in Kithicor on a general raid :) I switched out my shadowed shield to make room for the Ashenbone one but I sure miss this very cool looking shield. I keep in in my inventory and equip it when I need an MR boost for pulling casters and such.

One thing that bugs me about EQ nowadays is the loot whores....ye know the ones that spout about how an item is crap and only fit for newbies...
Ok not everyone has an uber guild or high level friends they can get to help them get the uber loot....and most don't want to...for this level that shield is very nice...+6 INT and AC15 not to mention the Sv magic...

Simple rule in life...if ye got nothing useful to say...don't speak...same should apply to all those 'We were shafted!' and 'Newbie item' posters

I aggree . This is a good item for the level you can get it at. As a player that has never been twinked or given uber items I find all the loot whores to be quite arrogant on such matters as loot, and if all they have to say in these posts is "its only good for a nooobe" Then they should keep their traps shut and let people who want real information on the items ,instead of having to wade through waffel.

yeah no kidding, but for those of us who arent able to go group for the sarnak shield yet, this thing is pretty darn nice.

Currently looking at trading it for a crystallized sword, 2 frozen long swords, ruby stub veil, bracer of scavenging and iksar scale gloves (yes all these together).
Like i said give my character (Moonlake) a tell.

Traded a Golden Chitin Bracer and a Crested MM Shield for it, looks nice, like a MM shield with Blackish-Purple backdrop. Better than Shield of Spectral Essence, more AC. :)

Once you get higher, this shield isn't all that great. The magic resist is nice, but i've got a semi-decent shield from Hate with 25ac. The ac on this thing isn't the best, especially since it's only for us SKs. And the 6 int isn't worth 10ac when you get higher. BTW, I have played a Shadowknight to level 50 (Stopped playing him since.)

I think that is why this shield is found in a lvl 35 to 45 dungeon =) shield is better, but then again there is more risk to it )

Not every Shadow Knight uses 2hand weapons. Ever here of a Noctavigant blade? Mace of the shadowed soul?? *rolls his eyes at the silly necro*

umm...hello?...I'm a Troll SK, I have a shield, Slam works fine. Leave it to a necro to shoot his mouth off about something he doesn't know anything about.
He was probably referring to the fact that you do not need a shield to use Slam. It draws off your bash skill, but doesn't require you to equip a shiled to bash like bash itself does. Also, it draws off your shoulder slot for checks, so if you don't have a magical shoulder item you won't be able to slam magic-only mobs.
But, like it was said, if you have a better 1H weapon than your 2H weapons, go with the higher output. Besides, some people like the look of a nifty item... if the damage ratio is similar I'd go with the one that looks better any day =P

Named Armor Shadow that spawns on level 4, spawned for us at the spawn spot by the exit mirror behind the locked door.

If it drops from Narmak i have not seen it yet, I have been hunting in the tower for a few weeks now and the exp is not too shabby nice money and loot from the mobs as well yet no shield. We have killed Narmak several times and always get that damn tomb!! So to all you who have gotten this, congrats to ya and if ya dont want it anymore you can just give it to me....hehe (j/k).

Narmak, the named armored shadow, can spawn anywhere the shadows spawn.. he is a shadow knight maybe in his high 30s? shield is rare..
