For the rareness this is total junk. Even if it were common it would be junk. Even on a totally fresh server no one would use this as folks get alot better stuff by the time they can kill in EW and do so. Add to this the rareness, it doesnt even make sense to hope for one until you not only outlevelled the kodiaks, but this junk bracer as well.
IMHO it is one of the many examples where some itemizer thought with something else but his brain when designing this thing.
Yeah, it is probably not something that a character who is high enough to hunt these bears would wear.
But there is a stream of commerce in EQ that these can easily be placed into. These are very nice bracers for a low level who would purchase them from you in the bazaar.
If I only used equipment that dropped from mobs I actually killed, or from quests I actually completed, I would be rather ill-equipped. And I just might wear these bracers if I could only use equipment from mobs I killed.
This bracer is simply at the bottom line. And no, you wouldnt wear those, as there are simply alot of alot better bracers out there, also sold. This being sold for 1pp maybe. spend 5pp and wear something alot better or just do the newbie armor quests for your class in your city, yielding a bracer much better.
wow, I was surprised that these were as good as a 6AC +3str. I have looted 2 now fighting in GD since lvl 33 (when I left Paw) And I had my first one drop about the 2nd time I ever fought in a Kodiak group, I gave the bracers to my poor little warrior friend who is poor and naked =P These are actually a pretty nice bracer... I have better though. I have a hero bracer and a Kylong wrist guard! So I didnt need them =)

I have to agree that these are definitely a rare drop. I looted my first one today and quad-kiting Cave Kodiaks I have killed at least 400. I am surprised to loot claws, they only drop maybe one outta 30. These bracers were a real surprise.
These may have been common drops at one time. Not since I have hunted Kodiaks in mid 30s at K3, I saw 2 drop in 30 minutes and never saw another one in 200 plus kills. I may have missed 1, so maybe 1 per 50 to 100 at best. Rare, no but not common either. Nice item for my young Warrior, would have loved to get 2 but only won on one roll. And I would not sell for the less than 50PP listed above unless I get some wicked new Luclin Loot.
These hardly seem common. About my 5th kill into level 40 one of these dropped off a feral kodiak. I'm now halfway through 41 and I haven't had a single bracer drop since. I'm not sure exactly how many that is, but it's well over 100 kodiaks. 1/100+ drop rate seems pretty rare to me, but maybe I just have extremely bad luck.
Well I killed about 200 Kodiaks in the caves and the ONLY drop I had was ONE of these bracers. No claws, no hides, nada. So who really knows how common any of it is? Am I really just that unlucky? lol

Why the hell do people always say things like, "this is a good item for an iksar monk," when the item can be used by human monks too? is there something that i am missing about the differences in human and iksar monks needs? or is it just that all these people posting things like that are smoking dope?...
