#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 25 2001 at 12:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Here's an idea..... a period. That's the longest run-on sentence I've ever seen. This items isn't just for looks, you can turn it in for exp. Just make sure you're factions' up.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 22 2001 at 11:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I knowq what they sould do to please all you that say it should have a dam/del it's very simple and would keep it as show as possible. Just make it 1dam/100del or something like that so you would have your usablility and it wouldn't realy be use for anything but show cause the ratio sucks so bad hehehehe (and for any of you that are going to down talk this post please don't why cause IT'S A JOKE!!!!!)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 19 2001 at 8:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i give my sword to sir lucl and wont give something back
RE: its a joke?
# Jun 19 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
Yup, the unknown got the better of me and my ranger buddy (indifferent). We gave Sir Lucan (WFP) the sword and ours was lost forever. This appears to be a hoax, i am not saying that the sword might not be involved in a quest somewhere, but just handing it to Sir Lucan gets you 1 less sword.

From the people that said they turned it in, do you just hand the sword to him and he hands the new one right back? Or do you have to talk to him and get some quest dialogue going? Were you amiable to him? Is there anyway you can post the log (if you were taking it) of the actions that transpired? We got 2 of them last night and it would be great if we could get the attackable versions of this sword... and could you post the screenshot of the new sword anywhere and attach the link?

Thanks in advance

Identify

any body try using identify on it?
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 17 2001 at 4:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OK..You guys are the biggest dopes in the ******' world. Really, you all are. THIS GOD FOR SAKEN SWORD IS NOT JUST FOR LOOKS! Turn this in to SIR LUCAN in Freeport (I think North) and he gives you a better sword back. You raging ****'s, running around saying, 'Oh yeah this is only for looks, gee I wish my monk could use it...', if it didn't have the concept of the SLQuest involved, it could be used to raise Hand2Hand, dummies. Yeah, Verant made an item that is completely worthless so you dopes could sit around and pick at it. Baffoons...

Sir Lucan is a traitor to the Paladins and lives in the Militia building in West Freeport. Its loot value is twice that of the velium or crystalized weapons. I hope it will look great equiped on my enchanter pet. He is a camped NPC and is often not home.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 19 2001 at 3:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) YOUR AN IDIOT BUDDY!!!! you and your stupid little message has gotten people to turn in the sword and lose it forever. if you want to be a funny person i suggest that you go to clown college and study there. "fight crime...shoot back????? how bout this "fight idiocricy...shoot stupid people!

"...literally useless for everything except for roleplaying..."

Yes, well, Everquest is literally useless for everything except entertainment. If roleplaying or striding around looking spiffy are entertaining to you, then this is a bloody good item.

There are many, many items in Norrath that are a lot more impressive than they look. This item looks a lot more impressive than it is, is that so wrong? If it doesn't appeal to you, don't get one!
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 14 2001 at 9:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Do some research people. This sword has a 15 dmg 32 delay if you bring it back to Sir Lucan in West Freeport. You give it to him and he will give you the 15 dmg 32 delay sword, with the same look and stats. that doesn't sound too useless to me.
Use
# Jun 09 2001 at 1:01 AM Rating: Default
This is pretty much a shield with no AC. Only use besides decoration I can think of is to give it to a meele class before they can dual weild.
RE: Use
# Jul 13 2001 at 5:42 AM Rating: Default
You're stupid.

It goes in your primary hand only.

and a shield without AC isn't a shield!

AC = shield
AC + stats = spiffy shield
stats - AC = spiffy

Purpose

uhh its not " monsters could care less " its " monsters couldnt care less " SO THERE!!!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 25 2001 at 4:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is one of the sorriest items Verant came up with it is literally useless for everything except roleplaying. It will only go in Primary and as for the price they have listed up there it needs to be modified cause it isnt worth that. anyways consider this..

Amazing how the supposedly "useless" items get so much attention on these forums? (grins)

Wield-ability
# May 16 2001 at 11:09 AM Rating: Default
One of my friends said you can equip it in the range slot, and gain the stats and wield a melee weapon as well...
RE: Wield-ability... for Bards?
# Aug 19 2001 at 6:26 PM Rating: Decent
They were wrong. Primary only.

Now, can a Bard be wielding this while also wielding a musical instrument?

That would be semi-useful...
RE: Wield-ability... for Bards?
# Sep 02 2001 at 2:11 PM Rating: Decent
no you can't use this and an instrument, i tried it... but it does look nice on a half elf in banded with a qeynos kite shield=)
Just a Though...
# May 15 2001 at 4:51 PM Rating: Default
Just a though... while the sword still has no dmg/del, why not give it to a mob you are fixing to kill... and since it's 1hs(well, seems to be) give the mob a crappy shield too... might that the mob will only be able to bash you then? Just a though... Safe journeys

You know i was thinking the same thing.
btw it's thought not though.
For protection
# May 13 2001 at 1:06 PM Rating: Decent
"Chyseis, please equip this so I can see what it looks like."

I grasped the sword, feeling a sense of pride and beauty as the gleaming steel warmed my body.

"It looks great, keep it. It doesn't do any damage, but it looks wonderful in your hand."

Before I could thank or wonder if I was now the wife of the mysterious heretic, he was gone. It took me a few moments of wielding the sword, before I realized that it wasn't doing any damage, I owe the stupidity to the blazing heat of North Ro. The sword for me, is a beautiful addition to formal wear. And, since it has so many pluses, it's a great item for running through a zone, for protection.

Sorry, if I got a little longwinded... for post and all.

Okay, just a few simple questions for everyone...nothing fancy, everyone should understand...
A) WHY does this have to be for a quest?
B) WHY does this have to be a usable weapon?
C) WHY would you be so anxious to bloody get rid of it?
I'm sorry to be so condescending, but bloody hell, people. This is a role-playing game, so bloody well role-play! It's a ceremonial sword, right? So keep it for ceremony...for show, etc. Just because other items that are labeled ceremonial, but are in fact quite functional, doesn't mean they HAVE to be. It's depressing to see such a deep-rooted game for me so torn from within by players who play for the almighty dollar, the almighty stats, etc. What happened to the fun of playing a role? =P
Just my two coppers.

I think you're right. Sometimes everything's just too comercial. It's getting so a guy can't get anyone to listen to his stories. I always wear the simple warbeads I looted off of one of the Darkpaws back in the day. I'm filthy rich and can buy better things but simply I'd rather have the honor of wearing the beads.
