For ages, people were complaining about how VI was making the game all camp, kill, loot.. no RP. When they finally add something in there that has a hint of RP to it.. everyone turns around and starts ******** about it! Christ...
Think about it, people. The Ceremonial Wedding Sword is dropped off of creatures that are having a.. *gasp* ..wedding! Just as the rings, dropped by the bride and groom, share an inscription.. which you can read if you identify them. I mean, honestly.. you don't see the groom at a wedding pulling the rose offa his tux, tossing at this father in-law, and giving some long winded speech about how you all just need to believe in your own abilities...
But.. uh.. yeah.. really. 'S for looks. And it looks damn nice, too. Some Black or Undyed Fine Plate armor.. and you're dressed for any ocassion.
I was holding this in my main hand along with the Jar'Nal Long sword in secondary. A guy offered me 2k for it and I told him what the stats were and that you cant hit with it but he wanted it anyway. Thought that was cool
Maybe this sword is for giving to rangers or warriors while they are practicing thier offhand attack. Or, has anyone tried purifying one of these babies down in Stonebrunt at the Kejek city? Many of the items that drop in Tower of Frozen Shadows can be purified to change the stats and usable classes. Maybe that is a way to make this thing attack or become a range item or something.
How about giving this to a tank, then sending him against a mob that charms. Hit the mob once to get aggro, and then pop this in primary, have a parrying dagger in secondary, and you run around charmed and can't hurt your party. A mob can usually only charm one person at a time, so that leaves the rest of the group free to kick the mob's butt.
I say usually because I understand that some high level mobs, such as the dragon in dreadlands, have AE charm spells. However, this would seem to work great against a normal enchanter mob, or evil eye, etc.
Is it be possible to give this to a mob and then beat the crud out of the mob because it has a weapon that does no damage? After killing it, you'd get your sword back as part of the loot. I've seen this done with various mobs using low end-weapons like rusty daggers, etc... Real question is how a mob decides what weapon to use if it has more than one.
when i was playing my mage, just goofin around, i gave a skelly a spear and a dagger, and another skelly a spear and a staff, and a whole bunch of other combos, they always used the weapon with the lower delay
well that's a nice theory EXCEPT... mobs don't factor in the quality of their weapons in their attacks....mobs only have 2 melee settings...."I don't have a weapon so I'll just hit like normal" and "I have a weapon so I'll hit for more dmg more often (but not more than my regular maximum damage)"
it weapon stats WERE a factor.....then wouldn't every one be handing out weighted axes?
If anyone on the Bertox server has one of these just laying around or no longer needs it, let me know because I would love to use one of these for roleplaying aspects. Email me at kindredjedi@charter.net if you have one and want to work something out.
Verant stated a long time ago that this sword is NOT bugged, and that it is just for looks. It is not for quests and will not be given a damage/delay ratio
I have looked around everywhere I could think of. I havent found anything regarding making it a weapon or something. As far as I know it is only for looks. The only place that still need to check is POA..perhaps something about it is there.
Actually a very pretty sword..... for strictly ceremonial purposes...:) We used a set of these a lot for some guild weddings... It also sells for around 20pp a piece to vendors, and we also had it drop off the zombie attendants to the wedding.....

Yes, this is not part of another quest. Verant has even answered questions regarding this sword. The only purpose of this is purely graphical, and not for practical use.
I got one of these wedding swords last night off a spectral keeper in Trakanon Teeth right there outside the zone to Seb. I can't try it on for looks since i'm a shaman. But anyway...it's not just available in Ice tower
