Hey all, Empi here - my main just picked up one of these for me in EC the other day. I saw it being auctioned for 10k the other day, but dont have that kind of cash on my main (49 wiz). But yesterday, I saw one auctioned again. So I sent them a tell, "how much". I get the response back, 5k. So I tell them to come to 4th torch, give them 3500pp and 2 SSoY's. And bam, my lvl 27 bard is the proud owner of a Symphonic Saber.

Now what I need next is a CSS and a FBSS, then the twinking will be complete. Hehe

Philibus Sophisticus, 49 wizard - Bertox
Zaneil Phiers, 32 ranger - Bertox
Empidocles, 27 bard - Bertox

You got COMPLETLY RIPPED off on this wep. Unless your servers ecomony is junk. This is only worth about 1kpp tops.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 01 2001 at 8:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you dont know how to put together a functioning group by the time you can fight in Chardok you are a ****** bottom line, and come on people What chanter is going to be Oom in place with all those casters when you can tap 400mana every 2 minutes! You have to be stupid!
#mowerman, Posted: Oct 02 2001 at 7:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Okies I am reading this, why is it that almost no post here specifies a bard in the group. This is a Freakin Bard Weapon. Why do you even bother posting if it's not relavent.
The "perfect" Chardok party
# Sep 05 2001 at 10:07 AM Rating: Good
Although technically any class can pull, I highly recommend having a monk in your Chardok group. Enchanters and bards can only handle so many monsters before they are overwhelmed. A good monk can make an enchanter feel unneccessary in Chardok.

Assuming that you go with a group that is in the very high 40's to mid 50's and that you are not going into the really nasty parts of Chardok that require a raid to handle, I recommend the following group make-up:

1) Tank - Warrior ideal, Paladin or SK are good enough if they are in low to mid 50's.

2) Healer - Cleric essential. Chardok is a BYOC (bring your own cleric) zone. Don't expect rezzes if you didn't bring your own cleric.

3) Puller - Monk is ideal. SK is second. Rogue will do in a pinch.

4) Crowd Control/Clarity - Enchanter or bard. It is possible (with a good puller who is willing to die if neccessary) to do this without an enchanter or bard, but it is risky and the lack of enhanced mana regeneration will slow down the xp/loot.

5) Backup healer - Shaman good because he can also slow stuff. Druid good because he can also nuke/DOT if neccessary. A second cleric is always good, but you probably won't have that.

6) Another melee type or a nuker.

It is handy to have someone in the group that can snare creatures so they can't run away at sow speed. There are so many classes that can do something like this that I leave it up to you to decide which group member will have this duty. It is also handy to have someone that can nuke a runner before they aggro something else and train you.

There is no "perfect party" for Chardok or any other xp zone. I have seen the most unlikely parties do exceedingly well in extremely tough places. A group of 6 monks camped the zone at Sebilis once and did very well with little down time. The only healing they had was mend and bandages. The only crowd control they had was FD. Needless to say, they had the pulling part taken care of. I was once in a party where the cleric did an amazing job of crowd control. I didn't even know clerics had a way of rooting stuff in place until I saw this cleric do it. The biggest factor in the success of your Chardok group is the competence of the group members. "Perfectly balanced" parties are really only a necessity on raids. Even then, they are usually only necessary in one or two of the groups. They are also sometimes necessary when you are going into a zone that is too tough for you. I recommend getting some xp and levels and coming back later if that is the case.

Having a magician in your party is also helpful for your number 6 slot, because earth pet root is very handy, and Malosi is invaluable on some of the tougher mobs.

A group of 40 might be a tad bit too low even for the zone in, unless you had a real good monk who could pull singles or doubles.

I saw a group of 55+ sitting by the zone getting good exp.

This has to be one of the nastiest zones I've seen. Almost all Mobs are running around with SoW. Tons of casters. And crowded with mobs. Supposedly They don't see invisible, but haven't tested that out.

The front gate when you first zone in, I counted 12 mobs. 8 of them about 2 feet from each other.

Cleric always a must. Enchanter is Deffinate for adds. Ranger/Druid for Snare an aboslute requirement to live for any length of time. A monk is the only way you'll fight and not have the enchanter constantly going OOM. I'd say a Paladin would be an excellent tank here, stun spell very useful though warrior is good as main tank to with bash. Toss up other slot for Shaman/Warrior/Rouge/Bard.

I hunt In Chardok constantly, great exp there and my typical group is something like this..

50+ cleric
54+ Chanter or Bard
53+ Main tank (any that know there class well will be ok)2 of them...
Rogue
and Me (druid)

I have never had a monk pull in Chardok for me, its all about zone knowledge and having a good enough chanter to handle the double pulls because you will get them, stuff is just to close together. SK's work well here and rogues can do a decent job of scouting, if you go deep in have a nice set of CR gear or a necro handy, its not easy for a rogue to sneak by everything.
Group
# Aug 24 2001 at 4:37 PM Rating: Decent
If this is the group needed,
Cleric
Shaman/Druid
Necro (though if you are going to fight at zone this is NOT a requirement)/Mage/Wizzie
Rogue
Warrior
Enchanter, how do us bards get it. hehe. We need to put a bard in that group.
Symphonic Harmony

The proc lowers the bard's agro, just like evade, jolt, and song of dawn. The message is "soandso looks peaceful". I don't *think* it is resistable - I haven't seen a resist message yet, but thats not exactly reliable testing.

Any mob
# May 22 2001 at 7:09 PM Rating: Default
Most of items drops off from virtualy any mobs in zone, its good, unless you got full 50+ group, cause they have more health than Drolvargs. Also getting group in there is almost impossible, so get group somewhere before proceed. Don't go deep, till you have rogue in group for corpse recovery. Someone see invis...
40 for chardok?
# May 13 2001 at 6:50 PM Rating: Decent
says you need to be 40 to go after this...any validity? more importantly, would i be able to get a group/would i get my *** beat in chardok?
RE: 40 for chardok?
# May 15 2001 at 12:56 PM Rating: Good
Actually, in order to even camp the entrance in Chardok, you'd better have a damn solid group of 50+ complete with a cleric, a backup healer and it would help to have a necro who can summon corpses, or a rogue who can pull them. Chardok is hell. And corpse recovery there sucks. I brought my 51 druid on a raid there recently - we had 3 50+ groups. All was going well until someone's pet got loose, then we had 4 mobs on us - instant disaster. Everyone who didn't gate died.
In short, 40 is definitely too low - I mean it when I say it. Level up a bit, then consider going there - but not without some solid backbone.

Cleric
Backup Healer
Necro
Rogue

wow ALMOST a complete solid group right there?!?!

DUH! Tanks are a given silly.

What is not a given is that druid or shaman playing healer just ain't gonna cut it there untill they are VERY high, and then you won't be fighting at the zone anyway, so you better have more then one group going.

Needed:

Cleric
Shaman/Druid
Necro (though if you are going to fight at zone this is NOT a requirement)/Mage/Wizzie
Rogue
Warrior
Enchanter

Chardok :(

Chardok CR is one of the very worst I've ever had to deal with. It would take alot to get me back to that hell-hole, still . . . a nice twinkie item like this for my 27 bard might be just the thing ;)
What drops it?
# Mar 11 2001 at 7:51 AM Rating: Decent
People said it drops near zone... so I'm guessing off Sarnak's of some sort.. because they are all over zone in and zone out.. Anyway.. was just curious which ones.. like the Sarnak Battelshield dosent drop off Janissary's but it does drop off adherant's etc.. anyone know which mob drops it? =)

Noone really knows but my guess is it's a brain bite or jolt type of spell which lessens you on hate list...

Hex

It makes the monster attack someone else other than you...(same as what the other guy said)

Its a sort of mem-blur in a sense... it just drops the bard to the bottom of the hate list... nice weapon.
