Hi there i was plaing a half elf warrior on zek server in the tutorial when i was lvl three and i saw a orge full in chain with a blackened acrilya greatsword and i though "Huh Twink" and sudenly the trade window poped up and had this nice weapon in it and the orge ran off and i was like what? So i never saw the orge again and i still use it at 30
I noticed that it states on info here that this sword is found on Apparitions. While heading to back bridge in CoM, a "green con" Golem got in my way and this dropped off it. I now use it on my warrior. Nice sword, decent damage for her. Looks like it weighs a ton welded but it weighs just a little over a stone.
This sword has helped me a long way. I love this weapon with all of my heart, I could not see myself replacing it with anything, but I know that that day will have to come sooner or later. Until then I can tell you this sword is A+ for lvls 1-25. Happy Hunting
1-25?? I don't know how rich you are, but I couldn't afford this at level 25, much less level 1. I'm using it on my 41 Ranger (with a venomous axe) and I love it.
I know I am using it on my 33 Warrior. I dont know what I would of done with out it. I have this and my Branacle Axe. Oh and let me get a haste spell to go with all this. Creatures will quiver in there caves...LOL
Right now on my lvl 31 ranger, I have a wurmy/centi SS combo... Is this good? or should I wurmy/GJBS combo? or centi SS/GJBS combo? help me ...."your leggs off." ...."No, it isn't." ........."It's just a little flesh wound."! Tazain Blackmontain <Ring Of Faith> lvl 31 ranger of Tunare.. Torvonnilous server.
I'd still go GJB over centi. my reason is the wieght. ive used both and notice when i use centi my stam goes down faster then GJB. but my opinion only. its also the reason why i dont use a wurmslayer either. too heavy.
Since this board got way off topic here, lemme save people some time so they don't have to wade through all of it:
As with most items in City of Mist, this is a random drop off of random MOB. If you want one, you're just going to have to keep killing everything in sight, and then hope to get lucky.
I have been killin here in groups the last couple of days, and I haven't seen this one yet. We got a Wrait Bone 1HB which was not bad, and a whole lot of that ruined armor pieces which we usually let rot.
But as is stated below, this is a zone for quest and exp. Loot is a fortunate by-product, but will require lots of patience and luck. And helpful if you bring your friends. At least on Bertoxx there are many times this zone is completely empty, or a couple of guild groups already setup. It often takes some luck to get into a drop-in group.
Upon giving it to my ranger, putting it in my offhand in place of the SSOY, I kept quite a good deal more of stamina, which suprised me as it was only about a 3WT difference. I'm hoping to by somthing to replace my Wurmslayer soon in order to hopefully become more effective, maybe a Centi Longsword. Then I will see if the Green Jade Broadsword will work better in which hand...
Me and another shaman friend (lvl 47) were camping the stables for the 6 letters we needed for the shaman epic. We finally got a monk friend of mine, lvl 51 to come help us out. The pulls went much faster. So fast, in fact, that there were a trail of corpses littered all along the stables... I went to clean up from a skelly and see the Green Jade Broadsword. I looted it, because it wasn't no drop or anything and asked my buddies did they want to roll for it. They said no, because they know I have a 42 ranger that needed the weapon BADLY. Which segues to my next point. If I were in a group of strangers there is NO DOUBT IN MY MIND that I would have rolled for it. It wouldn't have mattered if I had an alt or anything, because in my mind, that's the way the game is played. If we had a tank in our group that needed it.. well, he'd better be a lucky SOB, or know how to beg like a champ from whomever wins it if he/she doesn't. Otherwise, SOL. You play with strangers, you CANNOT expect anything. Same as EQ as in the real world. Anything else, to quote Blade, is just sugar coated topping. Expecting someone just to be nice is just silly. That's almost the equivalent to having noobs in gfay bug someone to give them plat.
I know this is an old post and blah blah blah, but i like to think of myself as an extremely generous person and if i happen to get something i cant use on myself (54BL) or my alts a bard and warrior i will give it away to someone.
and as long as they meet my criteria of being nice, not obsequious then they can have it. and there is nothing better than seeing a newb or low level person get something they can use, rather than just being another item to go into bazaar trader mode. i could have happily made several K selling my gear in bazaar but i prefer to give it away if i dont need it.
anyways back to topic my warrior has this in offhand and centi ss in main. just to get his 1hslash up to scratch. its not a bad weapon, but sure its better the higher you get since my warrior is only 25
Camped CoM with 3 others for about 6 hours yesterday. Got 1 Wu's Quivering, 1 Sainy Claws?? (Bard only weapon - could SEE golem holding it while fighting!)and 1 of these swords. Sword went immediatly to a Paladin in group (NBG!) and I lost the roll on the Wu's with a 95 beating my 93 (ouch!)!! Later that night went back and got 1 Wraith Boned Hammer. Killled an uncountable number of spawns, but not a bad day in EQ with these drops.

I was in CoM last night with a few guildies... 51 Monk, 46 Druid, and a 35 Pali... and we got one of these off of a Greater Spurbone after single pulls in the Stable area for about 45 minutes. After I won the roll, we proceeded to single pull for another 2 hours or so and... POP!... another Greater Spurbone with the same wep! My Pali friend was extremely excited at this, considering I beat him on the first drop with a roll of 33 to 31 (/random 100). In 4 hours we managed to get 2 GJB's, 1 Trance Stick, and 1 Wraith Bone hammer drop while single pulling to the same spot by the stables. The extent of the MoB's were skellies, shadows and apparitions, golems, and the occasional phantom or ooze. As far as the wep, I don't know if I'm the lowest level ever to get one by killing for it, but by getting the GJB I found something that compliments my newly-purchased Centi Longsword extremely well. Getting 16 str and sta from your weps is an excellant bonus at my level... especially when I'm not the "richest warrior in the army"...

This weapon is what I have been looking to get for my warrior for some time. If a warrior has better it should not auto to him...how would you feel if someone else got it auto for cash when you could use it yourself.
That's the thing about NEED before greed. If a warrior has better then they don't NEED it - roll on it. If you WANT this for a twink or to sell for money you don't NEED it either - again, let the roll decide - unless the warrior (or pally or ranger) doesn't have better :)

Posted:Nov 04 2001 at 11:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) bah, greed is wack and f your alt (btw that **** tags you as a p*ssy in my grp) so if your into that, then yeah, well there ya go
Honestly Alts should not get any gear. Unless it is No Drop. Ur not playing ur Alt, so u dont get to loot it. if this was the case Why not just make a alt for all the classes and say " ohh ohh I have a alt. He can use it." sounds like a greedy noobie to me. If it's ubber gear anyway, u should know ur in the area it drops. U must know what drops in that area ur in. If u in a all WAR drop area. What are u thinking, that ur alt will get all the gear. D: Don't be greedy. Have FuN
To an extent I agree with you. However how many times has a caster lost out on a robe due to rolling and a warrior got it? Or a druid loses out to a Cleric on something the cleric cant even use? The only time NBG comes into effect now is if it is No Drop and/or class Specific. Then again, even the Class Specific doesnt go very far. I have seen more druid only items sold by anything BUT a druid. I have seen more robes sold by warriors and more swords sold by necros. These people go there to get the loot to get the items they need. A Magician loots a weapons, sells it and buys Jade Inlaid Spaulders (or something else they need). A druid does the hero Bracer quest so he has money to buy the Elder Spiritist Vambracers. Its a circle. While I am not for farming, it is a way of Everquest life, and there is really nothing that can be done unless items become No Drop, or Verant enacts a way to not trade with PCs. Such as the only way to get an item would be to loot it, or buy from a merchant. That would stop alot of farming. That would make alot of people upset, but you know what? I could care less if that happens. from a merchant, a Centi Long Sword is the same price as a Fine Steel Morning Star. Go figure. If Verant wants the farming to be stopped, then they will do something to stop it. In the meantime, let the farmers do what they do best, and just enjoy the game. BTW, I am not a farmer. I dont have the patience...I killed Oowomp 3 times with no drops before giving up....made another campers day = ) Take care everyone and if you are on Torv server, go ahead and say hello...Some already have = P
That is exactly how it goes. Get item, sell or trade to receive your class piece. I agree with you, NBG all day. That is some f*cked up **** when peeps in a group would deny a specific or usuable piece they cant use, to a fellow group mate who,has not only a lesser item, but is the only one who needs/uses it. hmm that last one make sense? Anyways...
what a bunch of freakin idiots you all are. im not sayin im a light but when something drops, and either my class or race cant use it i just SHUT UP and tell the group that i wont roll on it cause i cant use it. if ur stupid main cleric has a friggin alt tank, why should your level 12 pally get the friggin uber item before a level 55 warrior who could use it. the game is made so that one character gets his own stuff by himself and uses whatever money he has to buy FOOD or JEWELRY. Its not made so that your main gets stuff for your alt
There are certain things that EVERYONE in the group should roll on. Items this rare for particular classes should go to that particular class. Ran, Pal, or War should be the only ones to roll on this item, just like casters should be the only ones who roll on rare caster items. Follow this principle, spread this principle, LIVE this principle and the game will be alot more fun for all...including yourself
Exactly what caster items drop in here? (other than from the reavers) - a crappy ring and a couple crappy staves (even by twink standards)
Unless you are here hunt FOR you friends, those casters that are mezzing/hasting/nuking/healing are out in the cold for loot. Better think about including them on the loot unless you want to solo this place.
people generally hunt in CoM for experience, not for loot. the very rare nice drops are just an added bonus. i sure as hell don't roll on caster robes and gear when it drops, and i would expect the same behavior from casters. there's plenty of places where caster gear drops and melee gear doesn't. what goes around comes around.
