I was tired and swimming around looking for "a tide feaster" for the 4 raw squid's. Started attacking and noticed it was a named. The Voidsoul Possessed. Looks like the feasters. Also, dropped a raw squid. He was at 657.01, 776.19, 156.91. I'm sure he spawns elsewhere. Lots of squid over in that area. I started 5 minutes ago (69 rogue and healer merc) and I have 2 already.

Make sure your char isnt hungry when looting the raw squid, he/she will eat the squid
Me and a rogue budy (67 cleric + 54 rogue) camped these no prob. We zoned in at the camp, swam out and around (ocean side) and just swam down the river. You'll get about 10-15 of these a trip. Would guess 30 min spawn timer, but we didn't time it, or even watch, so could be sooner. NO NOT LET THEM GO ABOVE THE SURFACE!!! We had a good 5 mobs disappear on us like that. keep them well under-water or they just poof, still alive, and still targeted. Took us about 3 rounds of the 10-15 mobs to get all 4 raw's.
Suggested you have high swimming skill, makes it alot easier. 200+ would be best.

Been killing about 15-20 of these a night for 3 nights and found 1 raw squid so far.common drops have been piece of telosian rock and the bile among a few other tradeskill and quest pieces. most common is words ,pages or nothing at all.

Are they random drops, or RARE drops?

Found them only on the 4 Tide Feasters in the NE section of the river. They might be random, but seemed like too much of a pattern to me.
