Actually the focus effects will only increase your spell damage from a procedure if it is a spell you could normally cast. A necro with a http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=23152 would not get focus Improved damage 4 where as a wizard would. I don't know if that's a bug or not but that's how it works.

That's because the "ice shock" proc on the orb is a wizard spell in actuallity. Let's a ranger has a bow with a Ranger Spell as proc, with a imp dmg, it will effect it. Now say a warrior has the exact same, it will not effect it because the warrior does not have the spell.
proc

Well not sure on that point. As I have right click bracer for drones of Doom, and with mages summoned Steel bracelet it does do 20% more damage

No, focus items only work on spells the player is casting him/herself. Items with triggered effects don't count.

In fact, focus effects only work on spells you have in your spell book. If you are a warrior, no focus effects will help your procs. If you are a druid, and have Drones of Doom in your book... Burning Affliction (not improved damage) will increase the damage done per tick on the Elder Spiritus Vambraces.

Any clickable effect can be modified... if the class using the clicky has scribed the spell they are using on the clicky item. Test this with one of those Ceramic bands... it really does work.

actually as a mage i can tell you that the focus effects do increase the damage done by my weapons proc as i use a Sarnak Summoner's Dagger

which has a 285max DD(blaze). when i am wearing my summoned bracelt tho it will go up to the 340's range

the bracelet does not however increase the damage done by the proc from my Fabled Treant Staff

so yes it does effect procs but only those that you can cast yourself at least as near as i can tell thus far. will have to do more tests i guess untill i know for sure
