Berserkers might out dmg Monks using 2handers ...... but in all honestly
Rogue with Tacvi / Queen Poker might do 30 more dps than monk with Wolf Claw / Yarlir 1hb ..... (thats might)
I havn't seen our berserker's out parse our monks very often at all .... Rogues don't always do it (can't stay behind every raid mob 100% of the time)
Granted monks generally are pulling during trash clearing ...but on nameds ... Monks aren't pulling they are dpsing
Ambidexterity AA ( Duel wield successfull more often) Tripple Kick AA ( as well as all other special attacks tied into one button) Increase Kick Dmg AA ( Two sets of these across different expansion tiers) Increase Offhand Dmg AA Innate Tripple Attack with Mainhand Add 2 Attacks to Mainhand AA Bypass Reposte with Offhand AA To many Strike Thru AA's to list Increase chance to score extra hit with 2hander Punishing Blade +1 to 2handers Ferocity / Double attack aa's across two seperate expansion tiers
3 kicks ... Quad from Duel Wield + Two extra in Mainhand = 6 melee hits or 9 hits per round possible
far as 2handers go ...berserkers straight up get better 2handers than we do starting with Omens ( Berserker with Gates weapon isn't gonna out dps Monk with Tacvi lvl 1handers tho ...as monk with Wolfclaw + Demerix ( like i have) can out dmg Rikki 2hb which according to many berserkers out dmg's tacvi zerker 2hs
Monk 2h max hit = 3 innate + 2 flurry ( 5 ) + Punishing Blade (6) Hits per round + 3 kicks so 9 hits again
With max AA and 34/22 mainhand 32/26 offhand I dish out about 600dps on Tacvi mobs .....up to 750 with discs if its a short fight like First Zun in there ....rangers aren't out dpsing me ... Rogues with Queen primary or Fabled Tormax Primary and king offhand or comparable offhand do but only by 30-40 dps ...and my demerix is dated compared to their weapons
All I can really say after trying to read all of the posts on this page is "Wow".
People obviously have a lot to say concerning the "DPS" battle. I myself am at 148AA, Time-Geared, and have my 1.5.
So far I am really happy with the DPS out put, Once I moved beyond the Luclin AA's and went into the PoP AA's and have finished many of them, my DPS has increased 100pts, on avg. I also have dabbled in the VW OOW AA.
I think what happens is some people forget that this class was "Stuck-in" among the expansions we have now. You can't measure a Berserker with Luclin AA's and PoP gear to any other DPS class that is now advanced on through PoP, to GoD or OOW (this includes AA's and Gear). It's just not an accurate comparison.
The simple fact is Melee classes can only be measured to another melee class in similar gear and with similar AA's if you want to be able to tell that one class out-dps's another.
I really could care less whether I do "THE MOST DPS", I do a really good amount and that is satisfying to me.
This Weapon is Awesome I can't wait to get one!
To those who say they will never have one, well unless you put in a good amount of time raiding; No, you won't ever see one, unless you buy someones account.
Just get over it, if somoeone just gave it to you you wouldn't enjoy it all that much anyway lol.
zerker in guild says clawhammer out dps this weapon ? we are high end content guild. he has 1 of each. he says procs count. i say they dont. the stuff we fight is insane in lvl if its outside of anguish so almost all procs are resisted. just looking for a little info here on which you parse kinda peeps think he should use. any and all info much appreciated.
Just so you all know a berserker can do up to 5 Frenzy's i have done so on my zerker and Monk/Zerker DPS is fairly equal they get alot of added DPS AA's and zerkers get an AA that makes them frenzy on each succesful riposte i dont know if monks get anything like that but since zerkers are able to tank with about 6k+ hp it is added DPS when they are playing tank roll but monk may still be more DPS because kick has a higher max DMG than frenzie frenzies max DMg with no AA's is 160 dmg it does crit alot though and zerkers crit second to warriors so if you havea high end monk and zerker it is a close line for who is highest DPS thats all srry for ***** punctuation =P
and as far as highest dps for melee um monks and serkers come no where close to Rogues and Rangers with the right aa a Rogue will Out Damage any melee class in this game hands down
the top zerker has at times beated the top rogue in dps. ranger dps is worse then a monks, and at times worse then a warriors.
so the top spot is between zerkers and rogues, as zerkers continue to get upgrades, rogues do not. zerkers will win the battle soon, have all the dps and all of there utility, and not struggle at all for the top spot.
the real top spot goes to necro's, they will win the dps battle hands down, if they feel like it, and often do.
Berserkers and Monks have the same skill caps for weapons. Berserkers have innate triples at 60. Berserkers have flurry. Berserkers have raging flurry. Berserkers have freny (3 attacks per round) Berserkers have innate crits. Berserkers have punishing blade. Berserkers have all offensive AA's as Warrior/Monk Berserkers are always berserk like Warrior low aggro. Berserkers outdamage like geared monks period. Frenzy > Monk kicks The ONLY class in melee outdamaging high end Berserkers is the Rogue and thats by 20-30 dps.

As far a zerkers not having much of a place? You must be nuts, or playing a rogue. I use the zerker to good effect and can even hold agro against any melee class within 4 levels of me. I have worked my strength up to do enough damage, and carry the sword of the crypt creeper. The thing is, I can pull a mob off almost any caster and strip mezz agro from mobs. The ranged/snare kite works if you have space (2-3 rockhoppers at once for hides). If you want my advice (and most people don't) focus on getting your stats up, group in the hotspot areas to keep in combat almost always (to keep skills maxed), carry a bag full of bandgaes and one of axe supplies, and keep a list of shammy's who are willing to cast HoS
i dont mind that zerkers get something like this one bit, paladins and sk's both get swords that are maby 3% less, as good as this. for us 1h users. we get some really pimp stuff as well, 32/20's n such or comparative ratio, THE WEAPON DOES NOT MAKE THE CLASSES DPS. a warrior with more damaging weapons than a ranger , would still only do half the dps. and im not b^%&'n either about warriors, ( in one ) and im happy with what we get, we get agro. its are job. as for monks that are mad, you get that wierd black looking staff with 2 purple energy spouts at the end that is like a CRAZY 60/23 or something 2hb !! thats so much better than this its not even funny. you get tripple huge kicks that tack on a ton of dps, think if you didnt get kicks and just had better damage on ur weapon instead ( what this kinda is ). but really, they have balanced it very very well. if you wanna do more dps, be a dps class. i dont, i like tanking so i tank. others like healing so they heal. you want dps? ranger / monk / rog / zerker. and p.s. zerkers rely on sole weapon dps ( they dont get kicks ( monks ) backstabs ( rogues ) and spells and high attack rating and aa's ( rangers ). most of their damage comes sole' from their hits and their skills ( that rely on weapon damage ).
sweet weapon for you zerkers, other classes have comparable, dont be mad.
i was just browsing alla for 2hs weaps for a zerker. just to see whats attainable. of course this isnt attainable by my guild or me but it diddnt stop me from drooling over it. this IS the best damage/delay ratio ive ever seen... ever, not to mention stats. but rather then post about weapon people proceed to whine that monks should be outdamaging zerkers and others say .. meh its alright. ALRIGHT? cmon saying this weapon is alright is like looking at $9,000,000,000,000 and saying thats not THAT much money. but on the subject of monks ... ZERKERS ARENT MONKS or any where close they are their own unique class the only thing they have in common is they both do damage... holy crap so does every other class. so stop whining the zerkers arent gonna come into everquest and steal your polished steel ulaks, or your place in a group, or get you killed that depends on person playing the class. they have thier own role in groups. and for those who havent tried a berserker try them out they're pretty interesting, before you go and state false crap about a class never tried, or played to 65 to see what theyre capable of. and stop thinking you know whats best for the game... if you did you'd work for SoE, you all annoy me .. this weapon rocks by the way
You say we (Berserkers) have our own role in a group. Might you know what it is? Every last one of us is still trying to figure that one out. We do damage, yea, and it's not bad damage, but it's not the best. We can kinda-sorta-halfway-but-not-quite-really tank, but we're not the best tanks. We can snare and stun instantly, but other classes' snares and stuns last longer. I GOT IT!!! The role of a Berserker in a group is to make everyone else look good. That's it!!
On to the subject of the weapon. It is good to see that SoE thought it prudent to include at least one high end, Zerker specific item. I just wish it wasn't in the last zone of GoD. As for wether Ber's should out damage mnk's, any monk in a guild that can get this weapon has weapons just as good, and will out damage the Zerker.
makes no sense huah. zerkers in late game probly do great, if not the most dps. and the insta stun's and snares are really nice, and you get nice hps and stuff. heck you can even range. you are another entery to the "your a f*ing moron game show". berserkers get some really great skills, discs, aa's. you must be high. idk maby its just me. YOU GET frenzy, it tacks on like 3-4 extra meele hits like every 12 seconds, thats insane, better than monk kicks by FAR. any berserkers that complain nowadays dont even deserve to play everquest. they are such a great class and ppl just dont relize it. and no they will not take ur spots in grps. thats just stupid. and yes you will get spots in grps too. thats like saying you only want mages in ur grp instead of wizards because a mage can coth you so you can get to ur destinations a little bit faster. and now yall get new warcrys n stuff. then even look right up above you. do you see this 84/41 weapon???? and your complaining??? /ignore
Dude I was just wondering if you play a berserker? cause Frenzy only adds maybe 5-7 extra DPS. and as far as Warcry line is concerned it is STILL broken. yep thats right the overhaste portion does not work. and while Berserkers get nice Discs and great AA, it should not define a class. cause unless you have those nice AA most rangers and some Warriors will out DPS you... there are a few exceptions(based on eguip).
People like you compare Tacvi Warriors to bazaar twink-equipped Zerkers... or compare a 0 AA Zerker to a Ranger w/ AM3, EQ, WA5...
As far as "not having a role" in a group... you're a DPS class...
Most DPS classes are fairly equivalent when it comes to damage AT THE SAME LEVEL, and what one class might slightly lack in overall DPS, they make up for it in other ways, either with innate abilities, or being able to perform better at other roles.
SO quit your whining and enjoy this beautiful weapon!

this weapon is uber, but lets face it, 1st whos ever going to get it? .1% of all the zerkers out there, is it uber? tons of damage, but still nothing godly that would change outcomes of raids or time+ fights. and one other thing, err.. if ur out damageing the warrior by 4 folds, your GOING to get agro, and you are going to die, nuff said. have to be able to control the weapon. ( lol just saying this because there are ppl on my server going frantic about this, quiting their chars to make zerkers, all over a weapon that would more or less get you killed, and thats if hell froze over and you got one ) oh and neo, i dont think the crag beast drops this, crag beast queen isnt very hard at all or so ive been told, guilds drop her alot. and 5k hp regen a tick is nothing, sleeper i think has like 100k a tick with 1 bil hps.
ya sure but if u know berserker u c that we have anti aggro skils, acutaly i have only lvl 55 anti aggro and it run sometimes on lvl 60 mobs. Thought that's the lvl 65 anti aggro would run against higher mobs )

Did a bersy get it ? Sure Is it an Uqua Drop ?? Cragbeast Queen is a natimbi's mob and one of the more powerfull ubber guilds of all servers wiped against with 98% life !! ( craszy regen 5K per tik !!!!!! )
well someone must have killed it to get that link up, killable or not, with the next expansions (omens of war) with the lvl cap raised to 70 and who knows what the new epics will be like, but all in all this weapon will be easier to get with lvl70 only guilds, and who knows, the epics will probably beat this weapon in one wya or another
What's the point of adding a weapon so powerful into the game.If someone ever got it, they'd be like God. Atleast SoE could make it an artifact,the power of this item is just too.............powerful.
As a matter of fact, this axe isn't very good. Do remember that it's 2-handed. This makes the HP/mana 150 per slot, which is basically what late EP or early time loot has. Not saying that the ratio isn't good of course, but it's nothing godlike about this axe, it's just a very good piece.
Keep in mind that it's Berserker only. Berserkers are only able to use 2 handed weapons so they wouldn't be able to use two weapons to give them more hp than this. Plus how can you consider an 84 damage 40 delay weapon not godly? :)

Alright I was told by a guide friend that this item has not been obtained thru combat yet, but was found using some sort of exploit. Whether that is true or not I do not know... just whats going thru the grapevine. :)
This is by far, the very best weapon I have seen in game to date. Some may choose to flame me about certain differences they like about other weapons but thats ok, they are entitled to their own opinions. The only thing I can say about this is WOW.

What's the crack SOE is on?? They're simply forgetting bout the lower lvl players who can't spend 23.9 hours a day playing EQ! They're just focusing on the 5% of all players that can actually get this. Really, I think this weapon is just plain ridiculous.
so all the new content in the game should be available to people who can't play much? According to your sig, you are a 65 bard, with your class AA title no less. Why should we have 65s? There is NO way that someone can get to 65 by playing super casually, so level 65 shouldn't be in the game! I'll give you a hint... if all things that could not be achieved by someone playing two hours a week were taken out of the game, sony would have fewer subscribers. A lot fewer. Also -- in response to the other post, you SHOULD be able to solo the beach at 55, my bard soloed the FT neckpiece in Natimbi at 44! You don't need to have ornate content to do 99% of the zones in the game, live to deal with the fact that with a minimal playtime, you won't get everywhere.

A level 55 Druid SHOULD be able to solo near the beach area, but all ya have to do is just sit near the edge of camp and you get slaughtered. The experience in the new zones is crappy as compared to the amount of hitpoints these mobs have. Sony seems to be gearing the game more for the power leveled ubber twinked players, instead of helping out those of us who play the game for fun. There are so many broken quests, that most are not even worth trying to do anymore. I was hoping for a nice area where one could go and solo mobs at a leasurly pace, instead of having to blow a entire bar of mana just to get a mob to half health. Not all of us can afford 100k per mold/pattern so we can get ornate armor, and not all of us are in those ubber guilds either. I am one of those that actually HAS a Cloak of the Jaggedpine (http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2166)which has yet to be updated, even though the NPC SAYS it will someday. Soney needs to get off their duffs and fix these old quests.
First of all, this game has been out for 5+ years. In those 5 years we have seperated the playing field into two parties. The Raiding guilds, and the laid back guilds. Unfortunately SOE has to cater to both.
While I agree that the new zones are a lot more difficult for the under equipped players, I disagree that they are impossible. The equipment that you guys are seeing come out are dropping from zones that are nie impossible for any other guild then those that are Time Level, and raid 5+ nights a week to equip its members. We are not talking about common drops, and we are not talking about equipment that a common guild would ever see.
I just don't see the point in criticizing SOE for putting in development and areas that are specifically made for guilds who have put in the time and effort to achieve the goals to get there. The drops that are available in Riwwi/Vexu etc... are just as comparable for the lower guilds, and VERY easy to obtain and rank right up there with nice elemental drops.
Suck it up, play and have fun... I think this expansion is very balanced and very well done. If you don't like the stuff you are seeing... get to work and earn it like the others did.
