been trying to camp this guy for a long time.. finally i log on and hes up.. killed him in about 3-4 mins..didnt even need a healer. he could barely touch me. My my how the tables have turned!!
and yes he did drop the belt for me on the first attempt since 2005 on my sk.. feels good to finally win!
Never ever saw this mob up before tonite. Myself (75 demi-geared monk), a necro and mage (both about time-geared) were on our way to the Ssra mines to get a shard for VT's key, and there he was. In all his light-blue glory.
We beat the repops easily (took about 15mins with the 3 of us), however it got close to becoming a wipe since none of us had our servants available. At one point I flopped at 1% and when I stood up he was attacking the mage pet instead of any of the real threats :) so I had time to hit staunch recovery and take him the rest of the way down. Mend, epic, and HoT pots carried my tankin' self through till he was about 30%, then after a full refill of bars with the vet. aa he was easy to finish.
When he dropped, so did my jaw because there was the belt. Goodbye 10-minute Eyepatch of Plunder haste, hello 72 minute belt haste :)
So lucky, and the moral of the story is: Yes, the belt still drops.
Well now that I have got to the point where I don't need the STA generated by this belt (yes, my weenie DE self has 305 STA unbuffed with all the STA aa, ND3 and some hard won STA augs in LDoN) I donated it to a ranger. The Dex and Agi maxed him out, and I think he stuck a HP aug on it. Sadly, by the time most guilds can easily get this they won't be raiding THO anymore, but the big green guy is one of my favourites.
Good luck to anyone who gets it, it is truly a VERY useful item, for the haste, for the STA, and for the AC. For a high end tank it is a piece of rubbish because of the lack of HP, though I suppose it MAY be a useful clickie to drag out from the inventory if they don't have the Kizrak's gloves with the same self-hasting effect.
For anyone lacking in STA, dex and agi (and this is MAINLY your casters, who need ALL of them) bid on it without feeling guilty.
I have both a 65 Pal and 65 Necro if this was offered to me it would have to go into my paladin's bag, for those times when not grouped with a haster. Those times are rare now days but it would still be used more than my necro.
You do understand that 2 items with the same clicky effect will not stack and even if it was a different click effect they would both be spell version haste so they would not stack.
Monk on Ayonae Ro named Bohbo 2 boxed this mob with a friend and got belt... only reason he killed it, took 2.5 hours once engaged. Who says monks dont want this item. (P.S. he doesn't use epic anymore.)
Well I am not a tank so I don't care, there probably ARE better belts for them. As for the haste, who cares? Of the INT casters in particular, necros are unique in their real need for HPs, and yes I know that no one can ever have too many, but necros need to be sturdier than those frock wearing wizzies, mages and chanters. This belt ROCKS for necros, because at high end we NEED more stamina, more HPs and more mana. Using SoS lvl 64 lich means losing close on 80hp per tick for 60 mana, and most of us fight in lich for from the start to the finish. I would have bid on it simply to get 50 extra STA. You are utterly CRAZED if you think there isn't a necro out there that would not KILL you for a 50STA waist slot item. Plus the AC isn't bad.
While I sympathize with your Lich-form argument, you would have to be waaay selfish to roll on this versus a meleer in your guild who could actually use it.
Actually I disagree with a couple of the posts here. For me, these self-haste items have little to do with the item stats at the high end, and little to do with whether they stack with other haste spells (of course they don't).
They are all about working either solo or with short groups; e.g. when I duo with, say, a cleric or trio with a Cleric and BST, self-hasting is far better than no haste. As for the stats - if they are good enough, wear the item. If not, haste and replace for engaing mobs. That isn't terribly difficult.
The effect is stackable with all other haste spells. So a high end warrior with a 41% haste item and this would have 71% haste without an enchanter/shaman in the group.
If this thing doesn't stack with chanter haste or shaman stamina, then it's nigh on worthless for a tank. It's a 30 AC belt that doesn't give you any HP.
Paladin Haste spell is only 25% and costs 300 mana(Enchanter level 16 spell is 30% haste and costs....20-some mana.) For my Paladin with neigh junkie WIS, this costs me nearly 3/4 of a bubble of mana just to throw on myself every half an hour(duration of Pali Haste). So I'd say a SK could probably use it a bit more, but man would the Paladin love to save that man(plus the Dex helps with Paladin procs)
as a healer its easier to work with a tank with a large hp pool, that way even when a mob lands a series of blows at close to max dmg , which sometimes happens despite high ac, you have more time to get a heal off on them.
hp and sta are extremely important to all classes and especially tanks at high levels. dont get me wrong AC is nice but should be paired with hp/sta on items for anyone planning on serious tanking.
I could see a tank that could get this using this if they happened to be in a group that didnt have a person to cast spell based haste on them, odds are they would swap it in click and swap it out though.
I am a lvl 60 SK and i would kill for this belt Sta not easy to max being SK so +50sta not to mention haste = sweet. Also for tanking agi less dmg taken dex more procs from our shroud/MC buffs can't beat that and 30AC. I use the turtle belt atm and would drop in a sec for this.
This will probably not ever come close to becoming like FBSS. Firstly, its no drop and killing THO isnt exactly a mindless takes that takes one good group.
Additionally, the effect does NOT stack with SHM STA buff, nor chanter buffs. /sigh
I passed on this belt and am happy for it, as there are several belts out there that are better. Additionally, killing an equivalent / lesser mob, say Dain, is probably easier then THO, yet the Belt of Dwarf Slaying is a better belt overall
however, marvelous visions haste stacks with straight item haste. so with my epic and this i'll have 70% haste without a chanter or shaman, not just 41% that the BoDS would give me.

omg that belt will go so nice on my gnome paladin i can't wait til i get to wear it. it is such a nice buff for me because my stamina is so low because i am a gnome. obviously it would go to the gnomes first.
uh this wouldnt be BEST on a wizard. even though it would be great for any class things like this should go to the person/class that would most benefit from it. i would most likely think that this would first go to monk then warrior then rouge monk and warrior being close tie. i mean come on 30ac 10str 20agi/dex then a spell that gives 50sta and 30% haste it doesnt take a genius to figure out that this should go to a melee character first and foremost.
I read the posts in which ppl always say this would go to this class or that class but the truth is that in a normal guild there are raid point systems and u bet on items with your points so if the item is all/all anyone who has the proper amount of points can bid on it. Yes usually classes dont bid on items if there's another class that can benefit more from it but they can and if it's an upgrade they can go for it
this item is 100% mellee .. this would be good on any character but a mellee is going to benifit from it the most.. there is no way a guild is going to say oh we know your a wiz but ur points are higher then all mellee so take the item.. and all the mellee are gonna smile and say yes.. take this glorious item that we could use so much more mr. wiz and enjoy it.. !.. YEA RIGHT lmao!.. ur guildies would crucify you .. and if your guild leader or raid leader allows u to take this item from them then how the hell did your guild get the point where you could loot this item in the first place? lol.. taygarr
Well, being one of the few people who plays a NON-twinked beastlord, and has one as his main, I say this would be awesome for me. I mean, it has great AC, a great proc and 3 stats that mean a lot.
Well, Im one of those few who started an Bst in Jan and only lvl a couple classes to lvl 30. Kinda rare huh? I know this much, from changes, mostly in aa (135 now), Bst are no longer a ghetto class. I dont have my lfg tag on very long, unless of course, theres no cleric lfg. I dont think there will be a hand full of Bst much longer when you do a /who all 60 65
Oh and btw, this not the best belt for Bst. Its nice, but most likely it wont stack with 50% haste we get at lvl 63. better off getting Cord of Midnight that drops in VT off Thall Va Xakra, 35 ac 50 agi, 10dex, 10 cha, 5 all saves, 80 hp, 80 mana, 41% haste. Much better having a huge boost in agi 50! since Bst dont get any agi buffs and normally are weak in that stat.

lol.. u must be joking lol.. but yea i agree dont all u mellee agree? personally i have my cof now and my piercing is almost maxed out .. jus need 20 more str n 20 more dex and ill be a super tank wiz.. no more mana burnin for me =) lol.. hahaha (sarcasm) nah this is a great item for a mellee .. a caster would never take this from a guildie.. ... nice item to.. taygarr wiz of the 55th season the seventh hammer
Hmm, no one on here posted about this thing being bugged??? I got this recently and realized it right away. Anytime you are fighting something that casts slow, instead of creating a new icon it replaces the haste icon from the belt. I have reported the bug but urge others with this to do the same as we know how long it can take to get something fixed.....
umm, hello. Slow spells never overwrite haste spells, They take a seperate slot. Check it out for yourself. And slow spells also don't overwrite STA buffs. IE, this thing is bugged...
I'd see this go to a proper tank before a monk. STA is king for tanks, they need the extra HP to hold that mob off that monk. STR is not a good enough reason, it is way too easy a stat to max. self buffed I'm at about 250. If a Rogue or monk can't get that, I'm worried.
As for rangers, they'd make way more use of this than monks. Dex is the major stat that contributes to archery damage.
Eitherway, tanks can all make very good use of this item.
Actually I'd like to know what your on. This is just as useful for a war as it is for a monk. Reason being monks many times are pullers and if you ever pulled even just something like HoT you'd know that every bit of hp counts. Agi is also great for monks because it helps with dmg avoidance. As for getting 250 str with a monk or rogue that can be difficult unless your uber. I'm happy if I can find an item with 7 str that doesn't cost me and arm and a leg. And outta all the melee classes I'd say rangers would be the least useful in getting it (no offense). Since their main role in the raiding situation is melee dmg they don't really fire bows too much. The only way this is more useful to wars than monks is because of the monk epic which is higher haste and to my knowledge doesn't stack with this.
heh /laugh Kaiin, let me straighten somethings out for you. High end ranger (the kind who would be in a guild killing THO) do WAY more damage with a bow. By the time a guild can take THO I am sure their rangers would have EQ and AM 3.
Other thing, this item is not the greatest monk belt, far from it, but it is argueablely one of the beast ranger/rogue belts in the game. Monks already have epic haste, this will not stack. The sta sure is nice, but most monks (remember, we are talking high end here not KC raiding level 50s) have there sta maxed, if not, it will be at a raid. Monks would be better off with a belt that add direct hp.
This is not the best war belt either. Warrior could deffinately benefit from it, but, as like monks, warrior sta is probably 75+ points over maxed by now. Warrior seldom solo, so they usually have a better haste, not always though. I think a warrior would pass on it, he/she knows that if they take this belt, that 125 hp belt is going to somone else. (heh, don't say, "they have a points system to award loot so he could get both".. I know, point is they would rather have a 100+ hp belt then this)
Rangers and rogues benefit the MOST from this belt. Why? Just look at the stats.. 30 ac 20 dex/agi .. 30% haste + 50 sta.. If you don't see why, you have been very mislead as to what a ranger does/needs on raids. (we have inferior AC and draw way too much agro between casting minor heals on AE mobs, nuking, bow dmg alone, melee dmg.. Dex is a major stat, increases bow damage and epic procing.. agi, avoidance and more AC.. Sta, hp, very few rangers have it maxed.. The haste, rangers solo SO much, we are soloing more then we group, and most of us don't carry a pocket chanter to slow and haste us.)
I am not saying this should never be awarded to a monk, warrior, or any class for that matter, but it will be most prized by a ranger/rogue.
This item would be awesome for my bard Haarmony Dreamdiva..Im glad this is no drop tho cause she is only 27th and will give her something to work for..not just my bard tho , this is awesome for any melee class..well good hunting and safe journey to all.
