LOL, well no one looted it cause they thought it was junk. I took it and saw what it was for. Nice, i sure some of my guild members will love it. Even if its Wis or Int. we dont ***** much
how did you loot this when it is a quest where you have to turn in 3 sash of the cave lords and earring of king dronan to a freed slave in FV to recieve this item, maybe i missed what your replying to if so sorry

i have had my int over 255 since level 12, but without twinking i could have easily done that myself by level 45-50,its not hard to max int on any caster. there is so much int gear out there and its getting cheaper every day. int will no longer benefit me ( yes even after aa's because its over 300 ) so this item is kick ***, i dont care if it has wis on it, sure its useless and it bugs me that its on there but id wear it if it had no stats and just FT2 on it....well add the hp and mana back into the equation....and the saves....still a nice item.
wow , sorry to hear 2cents. Could possibly be some email sniffer program too maybe, but never know. I hope to get the item soon for my 65 chanter, gotta kill the alchemist still for the event.

With last weeks patch they changed the Wisdom only Pants of Petrified Sand to Int. The pants, as is this necklace, is usable by Int caster only.
Not to argue or rehash the myriad posts below re. the value of this necklace, but...it IS altogether possible with enough /feedback from the community who HAS the Copper Medal that it MIGHT be changed to Intel!
Please /feedback this fine item if you have it!!!!

But what is the deal with FT2 being on it? i mean come on, i have no use for that...unless, i heard it might be good as a tertiary check for trade skills after doing checks on my maxed agi and swimming skill.

Posted:Aug 23 2003 at 11:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It never ceases to amaze me. All these people complaining that it's "wis on an int caster item." Does this make it a crappy item? Um, no...look at the other stats. Not only 50hp and 75mana, but good resists. Oh yeah...FTII. :P It's a great neck item for practically any int caster that can use it. Quit complaining about the lack of int. :P

I agree it's a nice piece even without int. HOWEVER, I WOULD like SOE to at least be a little more fair toward the int casters in this quest. Looking at the similar quest for clerics/druids/shamans, I noted they did NOT have int +12 on theirs, but wis +8. One thing I do like as a chanter is the nice Charisma increase with it. Oh, and I'll take FT2 since they went through the effort of putting it on there...;-)
i don't think it's the lack of int so much as the presence of wis. none of the classes that can use this item have any use for wis - Verant may as well have offered 100 wis for all the use it'll do the wearer.
Aye, I was going to say they could fix it by either changing the wis to int, or just removing the wisdom altogether. Likely the later as the former makes the item a huge reward for the risk and work done. Or make it a lessor amount of int, +6 or so?
Look at the stats on the thing! If having some extra wisdom on this int caster item seems to be a problem, then just take the Wis off it. I'm sure people would have been quite happy with the rest of the stats and no int.
Wisdom is still the secondary check for int caster tradeskills anyway, so it has some utility.
Wisdom is not a secondary for any trade skill. If your wis is higher, it is the only check. If your int is higher, wis is not checked at all.
Actually, you're wrong. Per EQ developers at one of the recent Fan Fairs, tradeskill checks are done using your primary stat. INT-casters (ie. NEC, MAG, WIZ, ENC, SK), have INT-check for tradeskills; WIS-casters(ie DRU, SHM, CLR, PAL, RNG, etc), have WIS-check for tradesills.
Only pure melee will use whatever the "highest stat" is (ie MNK and WAR).
But, in most cases, getting KEI will suffice in either case because if you have proper gear, your WIS or INT (or both) will be maxed so you won't have to worry about it.
Also, DEX, STA, AGI and STR have absolutely nothing to do with tradeskills. This information has been confirmed by the designer of the tradeskill system (his name escapes me at the moment, but he spoke at a panel-discussion at one of the Fan Fairs).
Actually you are wrong. The highest of your WIS/INT is what is checked for trade skills. It just happens that you would have to be retarded to have more INT as a WIS caster and vise versa. Also, several trades DO have secondary stats they check against. This is straight from the developers, go check EQtraders.com for the specifics.
Fletching uses Dex as a secondary check, and smithing uses str... And if I recall, it isn't so much a secondary check as an alternative.. Basically, with just int and wis being checked, it kinda screwed us melee types, so they made a few minor adjustments.. it only makes sense that high str would benefit a smith, just as a high dex would benefit a fletcher. Hence the additions to the check table.
Wisdom is not a secondary for any trade skill. If your wis is higher, it is the only check. If your int is higher, wis is not checked at all. Quit confusing people with your nonsense.

#REDACTED,
Posted:Aug 01 2003 at 8:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No it doesnt make sense, but then if you look at a lot of the new loot from almost anywhere it doesnt make sense and you know why? They must have new people developing items, and those people dont know the basics of eq, so they added wis instead of int, its happened on a lot of the new items.
