I am a lvl 14 cleric, I was in Gfay and a npc fairy started teasing me, she rooted me, blinded me, followed me, was kinda cute actually, she gave me a fairy wing, then hugged me and so on, then gave me a mithril breastplate, she asked what she might look like with a big shiny thing so I tried to give it back, she refused hugged me then poofed then another fairy came thru and buffed me then took off

Ever heard of that b4?
Not complaining just curiuos what that was all about.

Sounds like a bunch of Guides poking fun around Gfay. They tend to do stuff like that from time to time, but usually they just buff and hand out cookies and milk.

What you are all missing
# Jul 24 2002 at 7:23 AM Rating: Default
What everyone seems to miss and what should really drive the price up, is on single three letter word

ROG

Have you any idea how rare it is to find platemail armor that a rogue can use. This should easily drive up the price by about 200pp.

just my 2c
RE: What you are all missing
# Apr 04 2003 at 12:50 AM Rating: Decent
Nah.. I decked out my rogue in full visible plate no problem. Mithril greaves and vambraces being the cheapest... Engraved Royal Velium Field Plate being the most expensive at 2k, a steal because it normally sells for about 3-4k... also Crystal Chitin Boots for 2k.

Also Mrylokar's is all plate too. Its not hard, you just have to know where to look...
RE: What you are all missing
# Feb 18 2003 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
Rogues can wear the plate mithril legs and arms to. I dont see the price going up on them. Regaurdless of the fact that it is plate the fact still remains that it is prices based off of the stats and the stats of the other items at the time. Right now you have droppable weapons out of Planes of Power that are insane damage and armor that is better then the quested Armor from Kael or Skyshrine and is also droppable unlike the Velious Armor. So why would a plate look on a Rogue or a Ranger make it cost more? The stats speak for themself regaurdless of the plate look. You also have to take into count for the fact that all this Mithril Armor drops like crazy compared to the Pre-Kunark days. Back then this was the stuff to have and I had payed well over 2k for this item. Oh times they change.

Someone correct me if i am wrong but 2agi =1ac right? so this would add an extra 7ac..so 24ac fer the bp....not bad i guess. i would buy it over crusty any day. Bah to crusty armor lol
RE: correct me if i am wrong
# Oct 27 2003 at 7:27 PM Rating: Default
I dont know Crustation armor is pretty good, just depends on the class, shouldn't even think about it for a bard but on like a warior its good, I made an ogre war and at lvl 1 i had 237 stamina and 197 str, and when i put lammy and centi short on i have 243 sta and 202 str

Pretty stupid I guess
# Mar 25 2002 at 2:44 PM Rating: Decent
Seeing there is a whole series of Mithril armor, it is kinda stupid that the BP drops off Kobold Priest in Solb, and only has 17AC 15AGI and 30hps.
All the other mithril stuff drops in ToV, and is better than the BP, while usually the BP is the best of the armor series. With highest ac and best additional stats...

RE: Pretty stupid I guess
# Apr 25 2002 at 1:14 PM Rating: Default
You are incorrect. The companion pieces to this BP also drop in Sol B, they're the 10 AC 7 str 5 MR vembraces and greaves.

This "mini-set" is from the original EQ, and was very nice stuff, once upon a time.
RE: Pretty stupid I guess
# Mar 25 2002 at 9:45 PM Rating: Default
Your right... BPs are usually the Best pieces of the set, but there is no exception here. This is part of a small EQ Mithril Set. Found in the Liars of Solusek, Mithril BPs, Greaves, and Arms drop off of various monsters. By the standards of ToV, these stats are not good at all, but by standards of the ToV Drops, the "True Mithril Breastplate" wipes the floor. Check the stats on it, you Will see it is clearly superiour to other peices. It looks like EQ put out the Mithril too early, and then wanted to make Mithril something very strong, but had already made these parts and needed to Make a BP for their set, simply calling it True Mithril Breastplate.
all that +agil
# Mar 06 2002 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
At lvl 33 I get 30 AC from this BP on my Dwarven Pali. As a dwarf I really need the +agil:) This mithril stuff looks awsome too, especailly if you get matching peices. Similar in colour to Warriors crafted stuff.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 25 2002 at 10:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) isn't mithril supposed to be extremly light wieght?
RE: i don get it
# Apr 19 2002 at 7:18 PM Rating: Default
The Idea of the Alloy of Mithril is intended to be heavy, but very durable. Not Unlike Titanium
RE: i don get it
# Feb 13 2003 at 8:28 PM Rating: Default
Well, if you read the Lord of the Rings, mithril is extremely durable light-weight armor, even though the only mithril you actually read about is Bilbo's mithril chainmail tunic, and that took quite a beating, I would think that they made this much much better.
just got one

Your right, extremly twinked may not have been the correct term, but still not a bad find you have to admit.
RE: Lucky n00b
# Dec 18 2001 at 6:58 PM Rating: Default
hehe you dont know the MEANING of extremely twinked, try a 1 warrior (i know i'm 17, but i was 1 when i got this) with s full suit of crafted, some no drop armor from skyshrine (guardian), a wurmy and a CoT then tell me which is twinked, yer 4 sk or my 1 meatshield? hehe
RE: Lucky n00b
# Jan 22 2002 at 9:56 AM Rating: Default
Sorry to burst your bubble but a full suit of crafted isnt something to be to twinked out by when your a n00b. Get a full set of cobalt, or better armor and have a CoT, an RBG and the zek swiftblade to start out... THEN and ruffly ONLY then would you be EXTREMLY twinked as a warrior at lvl 1.
RE: Lucky n00b
# Mar 01 2002 at 7:04 AM Rating: Default
Hehehe the funniest thing is if ya'll die and go LD all your Phat Lewts can vanish damn fast. That's why I don't give me newbs anything till they get to 5 or 6. I bet there has been some sick stuff lost because someone's twink died and they couldn't recover the corpse in time in time.
RE: Lucky n00b
# Jun 11 2002 at 12:33 PM Rating: Default
Just to let you know, your stuff doesnt rot anymore until your lvl 11. Up till that point, if you die, you pop up at your bind point with all your gear and no exp loss. Makes it a bit easier as a mule, lol.
RE: Lucky n00b

Try this for a twink.... lvl 17 SK with epic and full guardian armor.

Dude wasn't happy with his SK so he camped his newbie in CoM to loot the epic when his 50+ sk finised it.

The point system for a warrior
# Oct 19 2001 at 5:41 AM Rating: Default
I found an awsome post on everlore name the guide for the frustrated warrior. It explained the Warrior point system for Armor.

POINTS:

AC = 1/1
STR = 1/1
Agil = 1/5
Dex = 1/5
stam = 1/5
Char = blah...

Resists are very important at higher levels but hasn't been figured into this formula yet. This may not work for everyone but it has helped this clueless warrior get to lvl 32 with less confusion on (whats the better gear). Try it some time. Given this is Warrior only.

There are a couple problems with your point system.

First, there are no points given for HP. AC is the number one stat for a warrior, and HP is a close second.

Second, stamina is only importent up to 100. once you exceed 100 stamina, you can run out, and the only effect is that you can't jump.

Third, strength is not as important as ac. If it were, brigandine tunics would be a popular warrior choice, at mid levels. The reason it is not chosen over crafted is that high ac is much more important than high strength. An increase of 10 strength only adds one point of damage to your max swing, and while it does increase your attack, it doesn't have a noticable effect on a battle's outcome.

Fourth, Dex is only important if you have a weapon that has a proc. Otherwise high dex is relatively unimportant to a warrior. Also, strength dex and agility can be buffed a lot by a shammy, while ac can only be buffed a little, even by a cleric.

I am trying to decide which is better for my half-elf ranger. Ry'gorr armor, or mithril?
RE: Ranger?
# Oct 05 2001 at 6:10 AM Rating: Default
30 extra HPs is nice for any class and added agility will - as far as I know - help on your defensive skills as well as add some AC. But since rangers are primarily damage dealers, I´d say that the Ry'Gorr BP with +10 str is a better choice.

RE: Ranger?
# Nov 28 2001 at 2:06 PM Rating: Decent
You got the +30 right thats nice for any class and race who can wear it...Great for rangers at least until you get a full set of Ivy Etched hehe
...Because i have a Mithril bp and with me guild im about to have a full set of Ivy Etched just like my buddy Xeross and Tazantor 8) ill be lookin' SWEET...just like when they made the Wolf patch on Halloween i was wearing all Banded and Blackened Iron Stuff and i was still lookin' totally wipped BEEFCAKE BEEFCAAAKE! :) hehe

actually, i'm wearing ivy now. I had a chance to get a mithril bp a bit ago fairly cheap, and i'm regretting it now. The mithril with the agility is actually 3ac higher than the ivy (at lvl 32.. don't know if that matters) and the hp is the same.. don't ask why i didn't do it.. i guess 3wis maybe? hell if i know, i just know i regret it.

Bp For A Rogue?
# Sep 18 2001 at 1:06 PM Rating: Default
I am having a little bit of trouble deciding
between the mithril bp and the rygorr bp for my
character ... is it more importrant for my rogue to have a high agility or a high str ?
RE: Bp For A Rogue?
# Oct 23 2001 at 3:17 PM Rating: Default
Would depend on what race your rogue is. If you are a barbarian rogue then the mithril bp might be a better choice seeing as you will already have a relatively high STR for a rogue. Possibly even the same for a dwarf depending on what your STR is at. STR is a large factor in the amount of damage your backstab will do, something that is not only flashy (you will amaze all with your backstabs sometimes, hehe) but very important to your effeciency in a group. Not to say that the agility and dexterity are not important to a rogue. If you can't land a backstab half the time then all of that STR not doing much good. Keep both of those stats up for sure.
RE: Bp For A Rogue?
# Sep 27 2001 at 10:09 PM Rating: Excellent
Your answer is most likely strength. This is because Rogues typically are used as tanks rarely (if ever) at higher levels and therefore your AC isn't as important as strength which will determine the damage you are dealing out, which is a Rogue's primary job.

yep yep. I have both and am wearing the Ry'Gorr because of the strength (halfling rogue). I'm keeping the Mithril to slightly twink another character down the road, though.

If you are in a good group with a tank, they should be taunting and you should be getting hit very minimal. In good group, I rarely lose more than one bub of health (take advantage of your Evade when the backstab button pops back up :P)

This BP looks so freaking kewl on a woodelf. My woodelf ranger wears it instead of the ivy etched. Though the ivy etched has 19ac opposed to this 17ac, the +15 agility actually boost my overal AC to the equivalent of the ivy etched. Both chest piece has +30hp by the way. I don't know the formula of agil = # of AC, but basically you are comparing 15agil w/ the 3str and 3wis. I personally think the 15agil is better. 15 to anything on one piece is way too good to pass off. More agil = less damage and more misses. The 3str and 3wis blah..u can get that with other pieces. But anyhow this BP has a sky blue look and it's very shiny and appealing =P People dig it when they see me.
RE: Looks Phat
# Sep 15 2001 at 8:54 PM Rating: Decent
the formula for converting Agi into Ac is 1 ac for every 3 agi i believe. So this really had 22 Ac. Im an fairl sure about this and correct me if im rong but i remember figuring out on my rogue
RE: Looks Phat
# Sep 27 2001 at 10:12 PM Rating: Decent
I believe that the Agi:AC ratio is not constant and that it varries between class and level.
