Looted this tonight in King Xorbb's Gorge off the infernal imp...
Is usable by frogloks as well (old screen shot)

just today i killed around 20 a minotaur slavers and gorehorn. plus, ive been killing them ever since level 8 and now im level 12 probably killed over 100 of them. do the steamfront ones drop this or is it really really rare? if it's rare, then around how many do i have t kill to get one? give me an estimate. thanks

I believe it drops more commonly in gorge of king xxorb/beholders maze; what ever you call it.
don't think you would be able to get in L guk of the elder at your level; otherwise that would have been your best bet, me thinks

u cant get this item till lvl 20
thats not true. In a good group you can get this lower.

After BB server crashed and went back on last night, a level 13 Druid and myself (Ranger 17 then) came across Yymp the Infernal. I saw him on tracking first, and thought it was a strange name. Tracked him down, and he dropped the Minotaur Ribcage. Pretty easy kill if you are lucky enough to find him.

We were given a sheild that looks very similar to this minotaur ribcage, and sold it off without writing down the name of it.... it was a something ribcage, but not the Minotaur Ribcage. I went in search of the sheild, both here on this website (with no luck) and looking in Beholder's maze. I came out with the breastplate, but no sign of the sheild. The sheild has similar stats, (again didn't write them down) but has a negative 15 to charisma in addition too two other plus stats. The sheild looks pretty cool, sold it right off his arm. If anyone knows the name of the sheild, I would be interested. thx.

what kind of armor is this? (cloth, leather, chain, etc.) and what color is it?

It's a shield, actually, you wear it on your arm =)
Note : be careful if you drop this item, due to its texture having some weird alpha channel it can't be picked up if dropped. Fortunately, last I heard GMs will reimburse this if they see in their records you dropped it (and haven't gotten it back since ^_~)

This Item drops of any Minotaur in Belholder's Maze. I was camping the Eyes for Braclets and fight Minotaurs on a regular basis, I walked out with 3 Ribcages and 2 Braclets in 2 hours
Yes, you could. Be wary of his Poison spell/proc however, he casts it often.

So I see someone said it has a cool graphic when worn, I heard it looks like banded. SO What does it look like? I'm trying to get one for my Human SK, well a friend is trying to get it for me, anywhoo, what's it look like? anyone have a screen shot of a human wearing one?

I just got this last night on Ayonae Ro. I am a Paladin and I was lev 19 when Yymp popped up. I said WTF? I conned and he was blue so I whacked him and he had the ribcage on him. Better armor than what I had so I'm keeping it. I'll just remove it when I do Vendor negotiations.

I was hunting with a nice young half elven Warrior (she looked awesome, I tell you), when Yymp jumped on me. He was low blue or high green to me at Level 20 and we killed him easily. Now I got a Ribcage.

Seems nobody has answered this, until now. His placeholder is a simple goblin lookout. Whack the greeny, sit and wait, repeat step 1 if necessary, then kill Yymp when he spawns. First time I saw him I got the ribcage. Spawn of the cage seems to be around that of Polished Bone Bracelets, but everything on the Tarew Marr server is screwed up :P

I was standing near Runnyeye repeatedly killing the 3 goblins that spawn there, and after a while I was jumped by Yymp. So maybe one or all three of those goblins are a placeholder for him.
One of the reasons the price is High is due to the Rarity of the Item. I also hear it has a cool graphic when worn.
So for those of you who don't care about looks and just about stats, then this piece is not for you.

Umm. Isn't the AC on the crafted BP 22 +5sta, +25hps? Not that it matter's cuz this post is not for the CRAFTED BP.. So don't post crap here about something that is irrelivant(sp)..

Hey! the guy who said this is better than a crafted BP is an idiot, I have a lvl 31 warrior and I would much rather have ac than stats and most ppl that play would agree with me. AC is the main stat for warriors. Crafted BP has 25 ac this only has a measly 16! bronze is a better BP than this for ac. Its great for rangers and rogues that cant use plate armor but otherwise i wouldent use this. Unless of course you can afford a better one.

For all you newbies out there that did not know this, AC is better then ANY stat for a melee class. Not much use for this item at higher levels. I would NEVER pay over 200pp for this, if you pay for more, you just got ripped.

After they have a patch they reset the servers, So right after a patch get to beholder if not already there, and kill him, this means that if they reset it all rare spawns should be up.

He floated by near the mino spawn on the right fork from the EK crossroads, underneath that rock bridge you can med on. He conned blue to me at 18, and 2 of us (18 and 19 ranger) took him pretty easily, despite being swarmed by minotaur and a couple of muddies.

Does anyone know for certain what the placeholder for Yymp is? I have heard that he spwawns just outside the Runnyeye Zone in the Gorge, but have been there a week with a ranger and not seen him once!...

I've only been hunting in the Gorge for 2 days and ran into Yymp twice ( the same one ). I'm a lvl 14 warrior and curiously enough it claimed he was invulnerable. I found him near the runnyeye entrance side of the gorge and he ambushed me in the middle later again as I was taking down a Muddite.

I've hunted in Beholder for over 3 months and I've never seen him.....EVER...
No clue about if he has a place holder or not, but tonight my RL girlfriend and I were hunting at the crossroads of the East Karana entrance, and Yymp jumped onto my back out of nowhere when I stuck my head down the center (North) passage- nowhere near Runnyeye.
Of course, there were a couple of other pairs of players hunting other parts of the zone that night, and they trained us a couple of times, so Yymp COULD have been a leftover backwash, but I kinda doubt it-- he moves too dang fast.

I believe Yymp is simply a rare spawn, and the fork near EK zone is where I hear he spawns. Independently matching reports make me assume that is true.
