I tend to play Everquest for a month then take a few months off, then start again. I always manage a grin when I come back and see icomprehensible things. In the Bazaar on E'ci/Tunare, there are 5 of these for sale from 1000pp to 4000pp. Why?

It seems that Dalgrim Underbelly does not actually sell this item. I've checked 4 times now and he never stocks it. What he does sell is Velium armor and weapons. I think someone must have traded in their tabard for something better. Before I report this to the powers that be, I want to be sure I'm right. If anyone finds one of these items for sale at Underbelly Armor, please post an update.
I wondered about why reclusive Ice-dwarves would sell Sarnak armor anyway.
Well first you buy it, and all the expansions for lots of $$$ then you pay Verant $$$ every month then you become addicted and lose your job and all your friends *note* third step IS optional
Omg I'm not the only one!! =) Man is that ever so true, if your not addicted yet, give it up, don't start, cause you will never stop, it's like a bad drug, cept you can have it 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
Master Ruphus Sorcerer and Occifer House of Isildur Innoruuk
Yet another rung on my SV line of armor. This chest piece is a pretty easy drop for a level 30 or above, and very affordable for anyone with over 100 platinum. For the tanking classes, this is a good AC chest piece until the mid to higher levels, though it is most prized for its MR. Another PvP must, it is very affordable due to being such a common item. Also, it can be worn by all melee and hybrid classes, which allows the poor monks and beastlords to have a decent piece of armor in the low-mid levels.
Have been fighting in LOIO for awhile and while I was 20 my group snagged an adherent which in turn dropped this. Never seen it up until this point and I have been here a LONG time. Lost the roll and got really bummed, but the very next adherent dropped another. Picked it up and nobody wanted it. Have been wearing since. Call it dumb luck but I haven't seen it since...
On this page, the level to attain is listed as 35. This is obviously not the case though, as it drops in LOIO of adherants and the like, which are nowhere near level 35. I'm level 34 now, and ahve had one of these for ages. Dropped while I and a few others were camping in the Sarnak Fortress. You can get ahold of one around level 23 or 24, I'd say.
Dropped of a sarnak reverant, I am level 27 in a group that was at the fort and it dropped off one, just to let you guys know it drops of those as well.
It seemed to me that this would be a nice extra piece to have around to switch out when going against casting mobs, like those in FM. I dislike being charmed and run into the giant fort, for example. So I have it in my pack for just such occasions at the moment.
Could someone tell me precisely how Magic Resistance works? If someone casts, say, fire magic, does it have to overcome fire AND Magic resists, or just the specific resist, in this case fire?
If so, what does magic resist save you from, and is it the most important in general?
Magic Resistance is used to resist magic (all harmful magic, and has been know to block area affect spells cast by allies that should hurt you) Now lets say you are like me 50 MR and 94 CR that means when a mob casts a cold based spell I will have a chance to resist it, If I dont and it hits me I will reduce the effect. I love fighting wizzies that use alot of cold based spells in combat, be them in duel every time! MR also reduces duration of a spell effect. So MR is important to have, and its best to get the other resists (focus in the one your class/race faces alot) I know many pallies prefer DR cuase of the heavy contact from undead. I as a Ranger find myself getting hit with every Ice spell in the book. (side note with 94 CR the most powerful ice spell I have been hit with hits for 15dmg hehe)(hits my buddies alot more harder)
This is pretty much incorrect. MR is figured seperately from fr/cr/pr/dr. It is not additive. When you get into a fight with a caster though, its always good to have your mr up as high as possible given that alot of the general spells are resisted off of MR. however the only time a spell will use two resists of this sort is a spell that has multiple effects. So for instance, most nukes are off of just one resist.
Even in these cases (somewhat rare) each resist is rolled seperately, the two numbers are not added together.
I have one of these. It dropped off a yellow (for lv24) gem oracle. This was inside the loio sarnak fort. Right of the enterance gate. The gem oracle also had a gem on it. "Gem of yet to come" We had done our first gem oracle a couple of minutes before hand and had got a gem off it. There is a rumour that the gem aggros sarnak. This is my take. Maybe looting the first gem was a trigger. Staight afterwards we add lots of adds (5?) and the second gem oracle. We where a group of 4. 2xwar,1xcleric, 1x enchanter. The enchanter did a very good job of mezzing them.
One of these dropped off a Sarnak Zealot tonight in Burning Woods. Tough SoB's those Zealots, mean casters with healing capability. Pretty cool BP for new recruits.)
