A pretty sweet little dagger, especially for Beastlords.
13/23 vs normal 14/23 vs Luggalds The proc "Miasma" deals 300 damage over 90 seconds.
The dagger is easily obtainable at L50+ if you have some help from 1-3 people your level, the only really tough fighting part is the oversized skeleton at the end, and even he can be taken down pretty easily by a low 50's group, my lowest level BST (L54 Kitty) comfortably did him with help from a L51 Druid, L42 Cleric and L43 BST. Looking at the log of the fight I calculated I could have done him fairly effectively with just the L51 Druid helping -- but better safe than sorry.
Umm, it says 9 counters doing 20 points a tick, wouldn't it be 180 damage in 54 seconds? 9x20=180; 9x6=54; I've always been bad at math though maybe I'm wrong.
9 Counters means it needs a spell that will remove up to at least 9 counters of the type of spell cast on the target. In this case disease. Counteract Disease removes just 8 disease counters, so you would need to cast the spell twice to remove this particular spell off a target. The shaman / cleric spell Abolish Disease removes 36 counters. This spell would remove it in one cast.
You dont have to be 55 to get this weapon. Just have guildies help you do quest. This is a good rogue weapon if aquired at lower lvl, especially since doesnt have a recommended lvl, as does the bile drenched gouche everyone has.
As for the drops, they are totally random, in my case i got the 3 from dulak in under an hour, but took 3 times as long to get the ones in nadox. oh well,
*chuckles* I love people that flame and end up looking like idiots themselves. When this and the other equivalent were first posted, they were listed as 1hs weapons.
Then they did a little thing called "update"... so the old posts about the 1hs don't apply.
Hmmm, I think they put the Beastlord class on this one by mistake, considering they have no skill with one hand slash. Otherwise, it looks like a fairly decent weapon for the ones who can use it. Fast, decent damage and extra STR and HPs are always useful to a Melee class
Unfortunately, at the level recommended to get this on Alla (which, admittedly, is not always accurate), this weapon is quite poor. It's useless for a Bard, the damage is sub-par for a Rogue/Ranger at this level, and the taunt would be very low (the DoT is barely worth mentioning, and there's no DD component to it - not even the Disease check would add enough taunt) for a Warrior. Personally, I think they should have just scrapped this weapon, and left the ring (5 AC 5 STA 5 WIS 5 INT 55 HP 45 Mana, and a couple saves) as the sole reward for the quest. It would be much more useful.
Ah, good point Drienne. Wasn't really paying attention to the attainment level. At a guess, they put this in as one of the quest rewards so you run the risk of having to redo it more than once if you're after the ring. Too bad they made this item useable by Beastlords and not the ring, mine could have used that item.
