do your eq characters that are high level craftsmen just craft, as the adventure points needed to get to 250, etc simply aren't attainable by leveling. Is it something adventurers just do in their spare time. Get material, craft, repeat? Must take a long time. :O
As a Master jewler i love to see WTB on these sights But you HAVE got to leave your server...else no one is gonna even look for you let alone find you.
Aigel Highelf enchanter... or so some think Druzzil Ro
I hate it myself... if you want to buy something, do it from inside EQ. Either /auction "WTB Whatever" or better yet, go to the bazaar and look for what you want.
If however, you choose to advertise your desire to buy something here, leave your character's name and your server, else nobody will ever bill able to find you.
When I see these auctioned, they usually go for 200pp or so. But I bought the materials myself, the sapphire for 125pp and the gold bar for 12pp, and an enchanter was willing to enchant the bar and make the ring for 20pp. It's been my experience that craftsmen will charge you a lot less if you bring them the materials, just because of the hassle it saves them not having to run to town to get them. Got a big discount on wu's by bringing the tailor vials of viscous mana. Someone shave 10pp off the price of wu's gauntlets when I brought them the greater lightstone. Do the legwork for the craftsmen, and you can save quite a bundle on what they make for you!
I have only one, small reservation about this advice: making items for base cost for players who are not either guildies or on one's /friends list is running the risk of seeing the item /auctioned in EC 20 minutes later.
This has happened to some very high skilled tailors on my server. They got burnt due to their generosity. Therefore, if some philanthropist crafts(wo)man does make you items for base cost please appreciate the hard work and platinum that has been devoted to enable them to sell you the particular item e.g specificially high-end tailoring items Black Haze Panther.
However, discounts for supplying components (particularly smithing and tailoring) will normally be applied. By supplying components for difficult items you will demonstrate an appreciation for the leg-work that has to go into some high-end items (think Black Haze Panther). But please do not expect base cost unless you are either (i) a guildie or a (ii) friend.

"she's like this cleavagey, ****-bomb walking around going 'oh, check me out. i'm wicked cool. i'm five by five'."
I agree with the person who started this advice. With over 20 different characters on different servers each with their own specific tradeskills (chanter doing most especially jewelry, my Clerics brew, Warriors smith, Druids tailor...), which includes carrying the appropriate combining container. You bring my tailor the items and pay me 1pp, as long as Im not in pull hell I can take the time to combine while medding. Thats pure profit from sitting on your butt and ya gotta medd anyways, plus you may have made a friend. I dotn give a crap if the person does auction it off 10 seconds later.
