What I have noticed on accident at times is, whey you equip say, the steins we all have in our charisma gear, melee combat takes on the same damage/delay of your fists it seems. Therefore, Monks and Beastlords would obviously have the advantage with this, but everyone else could just hand to hand stuff until they proc outta there. Just my speculations, I have not proven this, but try meleeing in your charisma gear, and you'll notice it's a lot like hand to hand.
I dont think you people relized this but this wep has no dmg/dly so will be a bit hard to swing during combat to proc it wouldnt you think? flame if you want but i am curious if the pic got doctored and its fake lol and not gm item cuz they dont attack their stuff is clicky stuff
Being a Beastlord, I hate being in a zone and not wanting to, or not being able to exit. This hammer solves that problem. Only drawback is you have to be level 50 for it to proc but when it does is instantaneous.
SUICIDAL Sir... its nice and all but for one its suicidal for those not liked in Overthere isnt it? And its Attack Delay is 50 thats terrible how long does it take to get it to port you and where DOES it port you within Overthere? Also can you Duel someone and have htis work??
And also weapon delay has zero effect on a weapon's proc rate. A weapon with a delay of 1 will proc just as often as one with a delay of 100. However one thing to note is that individual weapons may have proc modifiers on them (hidden) which increase or decrease the rate of that proc.

Posted:Jan 14 2003 at 8:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is cool but have you seen the ranger tolans breastplate? ive seen most the other right click gear. but Tolans beats them all (exept the conjure corpse line of robes)procs ring of fay. ports the 45+ ranger to Gfay, that is uber.
The Tolan's Darkwood Breastplate does indeed port to Lesser Faydark. My ranger had one, it was amazing. I now make do with the Vial of Velium Vapors. A very inexpensive alternative. Also 20 seconds faster than the Tolan's BP.
Asherah is the Hebrew Goddess, known under a variety of names. 'The Lady of the Sea', 'The Mother of Gods', 'Goddess of Healing', etc., but was wiped out from Judeo-Christian religion because of male-dominated worship. No, this isn't to incite a flame war over religion, it's just information.
Here's an Asherah website if anyone would like to read. http://northernway.org/hgoddess.html
Ain't it just too bad that religion is governed by men? Times might be changing, but ever so slowly & the written past will remain the same for centuries to come.
Erm. While I can sympathise with the author of that website, I'd take it with a grain of salt. As you note, there is obviously a political agenda at play. Yes, the feminine is sacred. Of course!
Yes, sex and the reproductive process are the supreme example of human 'creative power'. Of course!
But that's still no reason for shoddy scholarship :D
On topic: in this case, Asherah is the name of a former Guide for SOE, now deceased.
Bards have a Gate song with this same effect. All it does is hop your group around the zone. It does not gate you to a different zone. It moves you a few feet randomly in the direction that the bard is facing, meaning it can land you in water or off the edge of a cliff, if you happen to be positioned near the edge.
I found the Gate song useful in one occassion in my whole bardic life. When my shaman husband somehow wedged his bear self behind the statue in the Kaesora library, and no amount of shrink or grow would get him out, the Gate song did. That is the ONLY time I've ever used the song. I'm not a PvP'er but I've also heard that it's good to suprise your opponent in that situation as well but not very practical.
Actually you are wrong. Lucy has this item listed under the spell gate which brings you to your bind point. Also the spell data listed up top says "1: Gate".
maybe if you a warrior/rog or something and lost use this to gate? i think it's a good thingie.. i don't mind havein it.. really look's like it for gm's
whats the big deal here, its a good item if its not just for GM's ...
your group needs to retreat ... your MT holds the mob off well the others run (say you have no evacer) then switches to this and gates out to safety when it procs.
This probably is an item from Sunset Home (aka CShome) the Training grounds and headquarters for the Guides. There is an NPC roaming the grounds there called Asherah the Torch Bearer. If I was told right Asherah was a Guide in the early days of EQ, but unfortunately she died. In order to remember her they created an NPC (Barbarian Female in green platemail) to roam the halls of Sunset Home and greet visitors there.
Who in their right mind would wanna gate during combat... The only reason you'd want to is if you were getting your butt kicked... However by the time you pulled this out and "hope" it proc's one would think it's a lil too late... That's just the thoughts from a lvl 50 Druid.. Of course I don't have all the answers.
This is a strange item, the effect says (combat) so it's a proc, but it doesn't have any damage delay stats on it so you can't use it as a weapon.
As for the OT gate hammer, I've used it during TPW 3 times and had it get me out alive twice. If everyone else is dead and the mobs are coming after you next, you switch it in (quickly!) and just hope LOL. As skatt said it's also useful when the raid doesn't have enough druids to get the melee's out - Avatar + /duel works wonders.
Gate would be better than the OT hammer, because now I've torched my VS faction arriving weak and hurting in OT only to get hit by that annoying skeleton is not real fun :)
It's like usin' the hammer that Gates you to The Overthere... you'd only use it to get a free gate somewhere instead of spendin' time searchin' for a ride from a Druid/Wiz. It'd also be good for a raid if a melee needed to get out an' there didn't happen to be a Wiz to TL them out, jus' equip, run up an' attack the mob then poof! Yer back at yer bind spot. O'course you could use it on low level mobs too, jus' equip an' run around killin' them until it proc'd.

This is an awesome item for melees (obviously) but I am curious - why does a combat proc have no damage or delay on it? Do you click it while in combat, or does it suddenly go while your swinging? Be kind of interesting to see how this item plays out.
