No one should be complaining about the effect look at the stats on the druid armor as a whole and the take a look at the enchanter armor which has no real states to speak of to help out
I really wish you people would quit complaining about the effect, it's a nice effect. Faerune is the effect on EVERYONE'S elemental helm, so druids aren't getting screwed over here, they're just being thrown into the mix like everyone else. I don't see any reason for Sony to exclude druids from having the same effect just because we have Mask of the Forest, so two of the three parts of Faerune are deemed "useless". Personally I think it's a great effect, I enjoy my ultravision, even as a woodelf. I'd never have to go without it with this hat on.
The only thing that's keeping me from drooling too heavily over it is the fact that I don't have the bracers yet, and my current headpiece (Coil of Twisted Platinum Wire from MB in PoI) has FT2 on it. But I'm sure that if this pattern comes my way, I'll be ditching it for this. I can find FT items elsewhere.
Druids haven't been nerfed by this effect, they're being treated like everyone else. Which is a good thing.
An alternate route for those complaining about the effect might be to pass on this and get an Exquisite Leather Cap from Air instead. After all, you *are* raiding elemental planes anyway if you see this drop. Sure, the air cap has a little less hps and mana, but the stats are roughly similar, and it comes with FT2.
Personally, I've opted for the Exquisite Leather Cap and thrown in a 510 point EB aug from South Ro LDoN camp to get my own version of elemental headwear. Lodi Shield went to a twink and opened up another slot in my swap out gear bag. Mana stays on the back slot, and I'm a happy druid. Might not be good for everyone, but works for me.

...I am a druid main myself and I have never seen such a bunch of whiners.
It's nice armor, sure it's not the most amazing effect in the whole world, but come on, get real, it's a useful thing to have so you never have to worry about whether you have EB on and you can ditch that lame old Lodi Shield and put a decent item on your back (I assume you have a better secondary slot item and wear it on your back, since decent secondary items are much more plentiful in my experience than decent back items).
#REDACTED,
Posted:Jan 17 2003 at 5:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Trade skills are the most boring thing in EQ. Now they force you to obtain skills to get good loot in addition to leveling and camping. Sorry there is nothing even remotely fun or entertaining about trade skills. This is a disappointment to me.
Trade skills are not needed to make the final combine for these armor pieces, only to make some of the parts.
If you don't like trade skills, get your elemental drops and buy the other pieces, and quit your ******** until you've learned what is actually needed to get the armor instead of glossing over the info and whining.
Trafdeskills are already for a while pushed and for some quests they require certain skill lvls. One excellent example is the prayershawl quest. Now you can claim to hate them, but they can provide nice armor, food with stats (ever had a misty thicket picnic?) and various other items. I think one of the major flaws in eq is the quality of dropped armor. There should be more questing and tradeskilling involved and that there should be even more no drop items. For the lower lvls current situation is ok but imo there is still too much gear.
If your playstyle is just about getting exp and camping mobs almost continiously (farming) than you won't agree with my opinion, but the game is called everqest so it should questing for everthing, questing for recipes skills ingrediets and questing for faction, and questing on it's own. And those quests should get you further to lvl and kill involved mobs. Not that wurmy, centi or weighted pole you've bought inbazaar after farming for a long time. Hurray for TLC.
Also, there are quite a few quests involving tradeskills that don't require a raid force to finish them. These type of quests tailor to the true questor. Farmers, don't even bother looking here pls, lol
Erm...let's see, ultravision is really nice for any race, as none of the druidic races have ultravision. See invis is also quite nice as you wouldn't have to ever cast that on yourself and would be able to trade out a slot with a see-invis effect on it. And comparing this item which is a permanent effect to SoE? How about those indoor zones where it cannot be cast? Or how about no-lev zones? Can't exactly cast SoE there, so you can't really say that any druid would have SoE up at all times. And EB also rocks as an effect, one could finally trade off your Lodi shield or other EB item for something better stat wise. Only real reason I ever use my Lodi shield anymore is because of the EB effect, heh.
Anyway, kick *** item, kick *** stats, and a kick *** effect. Hope to be in the elemental planes soon, hehe.
If you think the effect is ok this item you probably don't have Mask of the Forrest, or you don't use it for some reason. If you can get this piece it is rather unlikely you don't have that spell.
This is basically an elemental armor piece with an EB effect.
Give us some flowing thought or focus on this item please. (Wrath of E'ci would be nice ;) ) This effect near useless and stupid on this level of equipment.
Aderel, clearly you arent wearing one, or you wouldnt have the attitude you do towards it. I'd rather have EB on a kickass head slot item, than swap out my Ring for eb item and LOSE hp/mana. Why would they put Wrath of E'Ci on this when the effect is already on tunic?
/AGREE there is not a point in time (cept maybe the first 30 seconds of rez effects =P) that i dont have mask of the forest up, so yeah, its an EB item. But whats new? SOE hasnt done anything but nerf dr00ds since day 1, and every patch they make us more and more useless. LOL 4500 HP heal for 600 mana, wtf is that a joke or something? Wasted a spectral on that i assure you. And at this point my Wisdom is almost maxed out w/o kei and im no where near uber (yes i mean well over 300), so i would much ratyher see a heftier chunk of mana or Stamina // HP on something like this, to make up for the insult of giving us EB on an extremely difficult item to obtain (and seeing as how clerics get 99% of the preist loot, dr00d only items should at least be worthy of us wearing)
Once again, slapped in the face by SOE. Gimme my lodi back, i'll prolly be wearing it til the day i retire =\
Kick *** stat on this item but the effect is kind of lame to be on druid item. See inv is something that almost any druid will have on all the time since it's part of the mask spells and the SoE spell, so very good chances you have one or the other on you. Ultravision - well since there are a few human druid is also not so uber (human druid here btw) So we are left with EB as the main effect of this item, and well for an item such as this EB is kind of lame.
