Planes of PowerDoes this apply to weapon proc spells as well such as Instrument/Ward of Nife? How about Stuns with a damage component?
This will apply to any proc that is spell-based, if you understand my meaning. Basically, any proc that isn't a bard song (which, so far as I know, there is no proc that procs a bard song) will get the effects from this.
I can confirm this, as on my Magician I have a Sarnak Summoner's Dagger and a Fabled Robe of the Ishva, and I get a message every time I proc that my robe 'feels alive with power'.

How is this item for Shamans?
I mean how good would it be for a shaman? With the DoTs are they considerd afflictions?

Yes, DoTs are the afflictions referred to in "Extended Affliction." You get an extra one or two ticks on a DoT with this.

Actually it was changed, burning affliction now instead of lasting longer does more damage during the same time period. the ll represents the level of spell it affects like burning aflition III works with spells up to 60, after that you need IV...

I bagged Spinflint yesterday. He just roams the gorge like the other mobs, so make sure to do a couple laps while looking for him.
I have done all the Fine Antique quests, several times for several twinks, and have never, ever, been able to get my hands on the Whirling Crystal from Spinflint.
I am an active Bazaar participant, and always check for this item as soon as I log on EQ, at different hours of the day, almost daily, and it is never for sale. I once parked my twink ranger from my second EQ account into the gorge to track for hours while I raid on my main on the other account, and it has never spawned.
Now, of course, every alt that can use this is too high level to find this item useful. But I am determined to complete this thing at least once just so I can cross it off my list and move on.
If anyone has the Whirling Crystal on either the Fennin Ro, or Stromm server, please drop it onto your bazaar mule and make it available. I will check for it, heh, until I get one.

I've wondered same about Spinflint. I have been there to every server up since before Thanksgiving and camped him for hours at a time. I've enlisted the help of the lowbies hunting the zone offering plat if they ever see him.
No luck I wonder also if he is still in the game.

He is just very very very rare.
I work from home telecommuting and often camp my druid out in Beholder's Maze (on Xegony) while I'm at work and every few minutes I kill the EE Lords.
When Spinflint does spawn, and I have seen him twice in 3 months, he will eventually head to the EE Lord area after making the rounds of most of the rest of the zone.
The good thing is that I have killed him twice and both times he has dropped the utem for this quest.

I have to agree, this item positively Screams Ranger at me. In fact it screamed so loudly that i have collected 3 of the four gems required. My only block is actually catching Spinflint.
Dunno where he spawns in Xorbs Gorge. Dunno how long his timer is.
If anyone has either of these answers i would appreciate the info.

The Icy Geoduck drops from the walrus in the Eastern wastes of velious.

Not sure where the top poster gets info, but roots/snares are considered afflictions for the focus of these items...my wizard's root activates this effect when casting.
Fixed in a Feb/Mar 2003 patch... this item no longer works unless the snare/root has a DoT component (e.g. necro/SK snare works, druid/ranger snare doesn't).
Correction: Only roots and snares with a DOT component are affected by this.

My Necro's root spell is affected by his kobold-hide boots (at least I get the message about them activating), and AFAIK there's no DoT component there.

Druid Snares and Roots are fully affected by this.

Make a wizard alt, give him a pair of kobold hide boots, get lvl 4 (30 mins. TOPS) and cast root....no dmg, no dot...yet it activates the effect. The less a person makes declarative statements, the less they are apt to look foolish in retrospect.
EXTENDED affliction wouldn't up the damage on any root, it increases the duration the root _can_ last, and increases how long snare holds.
lets see...6dex..thats good for rangers bows...6agi..thats good too....8ac...thats normal for a cloak...oh and its free. and i dont know when the last time you checked was, but we get more than 1 dot.

Considering it's a quest item and not a dropped item, it's for whoever wants it.
