This plate is used in the magician Burning affliction bracer quest introduced on august 6th, 2003. The quest varies per level, or so i think. at 56, i was told to find an oxidized steel plate, a cohesion gem, and a gallenite's sapphire bracelet (which i can summon). More details as i get them. i have yet to find a cohesion gem.

the gems do drop in PoI. Have come across 2 so far.

no it doesn't.
the 3 lower versions of the bracer are vendor sold (gnome in Bazaar?), the level 61 is quested.
Cohesion gem is missing in action at the moment, dev team have been asked to check it is actually dropping.

cohesion gems are dropping like mad in PoI from yard trash as of today 9/10, I've been in PoI for about an hour now and seen 5 drop so far.

Ok so, dose anyone know what quest this is used in,
or is for tradeskills?

Don't know if its used for a quest, I don't think its a tradeskill item and the vendor pays 6pp, 1gp, 9sp, 0cp for it.
