I went to www.eqtraders.com and searched for hobgoblin surprise and it showed that hobgoblin surprise is triv at 302.

I have a baking skill of 250 and this item is not trivial to me.
EQTraders correctly lists the trivial of this item as >250. The 237 listed above is incorrect.

The final combine can only be done in PoK ovens . . dont know why, they are both called Oven. I tried to do the final combine in mordrids meats in thurgadin (went there to buy the bear meat) got a does not combine message. Hoped up to PoK and used the oven there, combine worked fine .. just failed DOH. Oh well, everything was storebought anyway, including the hobgoblinmeat .. should be fairly easy for those with the backing skill . . . for me its back to the kitchen /em flips on the TV to food network.

Actually, the final combines on planar items can also be done in Collapsed containters made by skilled Tinkerers.
And the tradeskill containers in PoK are all Tanaan containers, whether labeled or not.

How much did the hobgoblin meat cost you from the vendor? and what vendor did u get it from? i need the hobgoblin surprise for a quest and am kinda desperate and havent seen it being sold in bazaar yet. can ya help me out n e 1? thanx 8D!!

The surpirse is that this item has the same icon as the "waste" products that you clean up in the Shadeweaver's Newbie quest.
Actually, that "waste product" (Lump of Zelniak Fat), is used in a quest that gives you faction and a semi-useful weapon from Katta Castellum. Here is the quest.
