Shadows of Luclin
Yurrdle dropped this shovel for me today (no surprise at it is unlikely that an item like this would be removed from the game --why bother?). I wanted it for fun.
Had to kill him 3 times to get it. His respawn remains fast. My faction remains indifferent, and I have only kill Coterie Vampyres once (opposite factions). In this day and age not many would care for the faction anyways I suppose.
Still a decent trainer 2hb if that suits your purposes too.

Another easy to get shovel is the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=467 its lying on the ground in lake rathe in the orc camp.
Just wondering I got this item as part of a mixed bag of stuff, and I have no clue how much to price it at, only got 1 offer and for less than 1k, so said ***** that use it to raise warrior and monk 2hb

I got this weapon my very first time off the halfing. Woot! My second one dropped 45 kills later (- - over many sessions).
The caretaker pops about every ten minutes. He drops a regular shovel and coin unless you are lucky to get this item.
It is a fun weapon and terrific for raising 2HB.
Since the halfling can be fought without adds, the level needed to kill him is probably 35 to 40. My shaman was 42 soloing him.

certainly not the first shovel in the game, wee harvester from quest in rivervale is a shovel that has charges of summon food as a bonus, and occasionally furball miller in west karana has an ordinary "shovel" that is a 2hb and a very low delay one at that
Actually I know of one thats almost world wide by every military organization thats worth a dam... the E-tool can be used as a one handed shovel, a pick, a hoe, and even a hammer...

Drops from the Caretaker in Katta graveyard.
Semi rare drop from him . caretaker is low level mob standing to the left of the graveyard building normaly drops coin and thats about it.
Got shovel 2 times in about 2 weeks hunting gargoyles and killing him for fun.

maybe its just the dwarf in me, but this item is a great addition to the game IMO. just like using a pick axe every day tools like shovels should be made into weapons, and you have to admit seeing a couple groups slaughtering the hell out of a place like Befallen or Estate of Unrest all while swinging their shovels would look pretty cool.

actually its a very nice 2hb. I fail to see how its stupid to make it, sure its not good vs most stuff, but its great for raising 2hb. This a quest or what?

Tho, there are many other weapons like this, Nathsars 17-30. But its very ncie tho as its +5 to Skeleton and there are about a million skeletons on Norrath and Luclin. Ok so the damage stats on it aren't the greatest in the land, but it's a shovel after all!
I quite like the item and may just make the trip up to Katta to go and get one off the caretaker some time. Like other people have posted it'll look nice if it has a shovel animation. ;-)

This is not a main weapon, the is a tradable skill up item. Used, for example by SK's and pallies that only worked 2hs up(epics), and have now got a petrified rod, cludgel of cowardly death, rocksmasher, facesmasher, or Goldenrod.
Very useful for those that need it.
