Logged in after LDoN went live and managed to spend about an hour clearing the tower. No Captain so went back to working on the entrance and the few in the courtyard below the tower. Tower repops, go back to the tower, pull a few and this Captain jumps on me when I pulled a Guardian. Rooted the Guardian and take this Captain to the front entrance to dot it. It dies and WOOT for me it had these.
I was in KC yesterday and these dropped again for me. :) So far after being in here for lots of AA levels I have had 2 drop the last week.

camping these... didn't drop but I did make over 500pp and a couple other special items, lol

Does it make sense that when you have the Gauntlets AND the Boots (MUCH Better Item) you can't stack the two Strength effects? What's the point then? Beware of "buffing" anyone with the Gauntlets because while they may appreciate the Reckless Strength effect for a moment, it is NOT appreciated when it starts decreasing their original strength stats. In addition, the Vambraces in the set (although they have nice AC) have a LAME Level 8 Caster Shield buff. Considering you have to be Level 45+ to enjoy the buff, again I ask "What's the point"?. The good Verant giveth and the evil Verant taketh away.

I saw this in bazaar for 5 pp with my 46 war and I ran as quick as I possibly could and bought them. Guess I was really lucky =)

It was 1 week and a half ago and I hadn't played EQ for 3 months. I had even closed my account. Got bored one day after haveing done as much as I could for the day and I said what the heck. Lets give it one more try before SWG is released. Got my account back up and running and it it must havee been just under 3 months from having played because all my PCs were still there ..Whew.
Got on with my main Warrior (50) shouted for Grp. You know how it is with Warr in KC ( a dime a dozen :( ) Got an invite from a grp at the entrace killing yard junk. Suddenly cappy room is vacant after like 20 mins. We go in , camp room. 15 mins later BOOM!!! Whoooa !!! Hello Cappy!

Now Its been about a week later and Ive been camping CY for the boots. We must have killed at least 8 callers of Sathir and CRAPOLA!!! Stupid Kunzar Cloak all the time!!!! Good thing is I made Champ in the process. Will have to kill more obvoiusly. I hope not too many.
BTW I also looted some Singing steel Gaunts which I also won on a roll while in the tower.

Just so you know, Verant/SOE hasn't deleted characters yet for 3+ months of inactivity. They reserve the option to, but haven't yet.
I had my accounts inactive for over a year, everything was still there when i opened them again last month :)

.....I would have no luck at all. I'm in a full group camping the captain. It's been 3 hours, no sign of him. Then finally -- he pops. We take him down and woot! He has the Gaunts. Couple more MOBs there that we clear before rolling for them , and guess what? Pop! It's tha Captain again! And Woot! He drops the Gaunts again! 2 Captains with Cobalt Gauntlets in 3 minutes. We all roll, and I lose both. Doh! Ah well, just had to share my hard-luck story. :)

That was one hell of a greedy group you were in bro. If these would drop twice im sure one pair should have auto-d to you no matter. Greed kills EQ fast unfortunately

Does this buff stack with the Cobalt boot buff?
No the effects do not stack. I won both items within 30 minutes of each other and tried it out.
Can you actually sell these for 7k like it says?
Depends on your server. I got the Cobalt arms for 500pp on RZ. THe market for this is lower here b/c it is not no drop, thus only really good in a group you trust or on raids.

no, all internet prices are screwed up, but on xegony, these are worth 3k, all cobalt pieces are worth 3k, except greaves (20k i think), bracer (18-20k), breastplate (60-80k)

i just got these gaunts for 3k on zeb and they wont proc but i will go make 45 and see if they do p

its a right click affect that adds 20 str
and takes some cast time...
you have to target the person you want to be buffed.
The str buff will be reduced by 1 on each tick and
will even go below your normal strength by 10 pts
then it fades.
It is not possible to unclick the buff.

You can't unclick this buff, but you can rebuff it to avoid the negative strength effect. when strength starts to drop too much, just click and rebuff. Least the cleric spell works that way, don't have these, but assume it is the same.

it doesn't proc at all... you right click on the gaunts while you're wearing it.... it's a +20 str buff which slowly goes down... it's a pain in the *** to keep rebuffing but it's worth it =)

actually, it does proc at 45, all kunark specific class amror's do, sure its a right click effect..but you right click it at 1, it doesnt work! if you try it at 30, it doesnt work! if you try it at 45+ it works! jus because yer a 51 twink (i call everyone that is a high level or has uber armor a twink) doesnt mean it is right clickable at all levels, the reason you dont get the message that you cant proc it is because yer 6 levels higher than its required...but if i was 45 i'd want some of these, already have a full suit of crafted and a sentry bracer, wurmy, and a CoT, better git me a full suit of these, eh by the time another expansion comes out the bp will be worth 5k! and i'll be well over 60 and beyond by then, a lil somethin to twink my new warrior with, hehe then it'll be nerfed and i wont be able to proc it!!!!!

Yes a Lot of Items Get Farmed For warriors, things Like FBSS ect, Things that can basicly be held by a small group or solo held once the certain area is Broken. However Karnors is not one of those places, Karnors is a place where you need a well rounded Group and in that group Almost always comes a Warrior, Now 90 percent of the Higher lvl Toughy Zones on Xegony are need before Greed, Fair enough if your in Uber guild and u go to a Zone to farm items for your Guilds lotto or Guild Twinks, But I dont really think Karnors comes under that, there are just too many people hunt in that zone for a Uber guild to Easily do a Zone takeover, so therefore in most cases unless the people in your group are Complete Asses all items dropped are need before greed to the specific class in the group that a certain item drops for, After that yeah its Lottoed,,, But that system is By no means at all Farming, Thats just plain old hunting..going out to find hords of treasure :)

Because warriors are not casters, they are tanks, and if you want to self buff you gotta pay the price.

The price is not a set thing on all servers. They are most likely 3k on Veshaan server, I know they are 6 to 8k on Brell. They may be 15k on some of the newer servers! and they proc at 45 like all kunark class armor.

What lvl do the cobalt armor effect? ive heard 45 but i could have swore i saw a lvl 20 casting with it... might have just been my eyes but i wanted confirmation

I don't think it's a proc, I just got the Cobolt boots and I right Click them for Strength of Kunzar. Hence it sould be right-clickable spell that you cast.

Cobalt Gauntlets are not worth 15k as the above 2 people posted, they are worth 5k at tops and the reason behind this is they come off a spawn close to the entrance of Karnor's and are fairly easy to get. I've seen 3 pairs drop in 1 day before, and I've heard of more dropping within a day as well.

The casters try to get a high level, and farm these gloves. They then use the fact that people mostly twink warriors over other classes to keep the price high.
So thus, warriors get shafted.
