If you keep Brell's Fishin' Pole in main, you receive a bonus towards fishing when doing the combines. Personally, I received a +6 bonus for a fishing skill total of 206. It will help a little bit towards more successful combines and reduce failures as with all tradeskill bonus items.
If anyone else notices other bonus items to raise skill further, please update us :)
