got it tonight had a Sk buddy try to bribe me into not out bidding dkp's for it but its just 2 lewt for that hits HARD! kinda slower then what i'm used to though but the rune is nice expecialy in arena if other dude dosent chain dispell ya its hella nice as for agro dunno but gonna put a guard 3 proc in it to be on the safe side but i'm a pally so agro is easy anyway it could be neg agro for all i care its still rune

Looks same as Tae Ew Two Hander, a very cool graphic imho, especially on a paladin :P
I heard this blade was one of the better aggro weapons in the game. After using it for 3 weeks, I can honestly say this is not true.
Rune does not carry the taunt punch I had expected. It does generate some aggro, but it's not great by any means. I was previously using Gaudralek, Sword of the Sky (a highly underrated weapon in my opinion, it just kicks ***). And this blade, while having a significantly better ratio, seems to generate slightly LESS aggro than Gaudy.
I can't complain about the stats. And having an occasional 230hp boost is nice (it procs quite often actually). And the dmg ratio is quite sick, especially with offensive AAs. Actually perfect for a hybrid or as a non-MA weapon.
But if you're looking to spend your hard-earned DKP on this because you're heard it's "one of the top aggro weapons in the game", you might want to reconsider.

Well with LDON out now if you slap an anger 3 aug on this bad boy its sick. its almost like haveing a BOW really.
Actaully this weapon is very elite. Prolly a weapon many higher end still try to get. Its a really strange weapon. The proc rate on it is actually alot higher then SEWS. This weapon as well with anger 3 would be very good for tanking. The rune 3 procs often allowing for dmg never to land on you. Which can save your *** for in time of heal. At the time of the first post. It was true that many of the warriors were using BF / HG's if they were here. But...come on. This is now... must want this for a nice toy. Its one hell of a good toy. Specially since seru is mega gimp.

hehe you could still get it one day... this sword drops from Lord Inquisitor Seru upon his death, and he is on the Santus Seru factions. If you or your guild ever kill this fellow, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem that you're KoS... seeing as how killing him will make anyone KoS.
Got this sword yesterday an' lemme say I LOVE it. Normal hits for up to 350 with crits getting over 500. Fighting in PoV it was procing like 3-7 times a fight and after the mobs were slowed my a level 60 shammy I could keep myself healed using just the proc from this and my gimp *** 200hp group life tap.
From about level 52 or so I had been usin' a 1 hander & shield but after using this bad boy for a couple hours I was hooked, got my shield banked (*grumble* no drop) an' my long blade of vitality up for sale.

Milliardo, since you have this sowrd, can you verify if the proc consumes a Jasper? Or does it just proc, even if you don't have any jaspers in inventory?

So.. just curious.. ..anyone actually know what this weapons looks like, when held?
I got my hopes up in seeing that Lord Seru picture.. ..only to be variably shot down as I quickly realized that is probably his Sword of Truth.. and that we'll never get to hold anything THAT good looking.

Looks like the spiney swords in Luclin, plain looking, brown handle, runed blade, not to flashy, yet sure enough it catches your eye :)
Was a very nice upgrade from Heavy Windrider's lance and it's just perfect for Paladin and SK. And yes Ranger and Warrior too, but why would dual wield classes discard their greatest bonus in damage dealing?

They would if they'd fight mobs hitting for 2000 and more where every single riposte of a mob can be deadly. And dual wielding = more attacks = more chances to get riposted. Of course that's only true for tanks so rangers can go on dual wielding more or less.

I hate Dual Wielding anymore. If I had a decent 2H aggro weapon I'd use it, but until I get a BoW I'll just have to Dual-Wield. Warriors have 2 jobs. Holding aggro and taking damage. 2 handers mean less riposte damage. When you start taking ripostes from PoP tier 2 and higher, you really feel it and so do your healers.

Yes, it's usable. The OP mistook this for the Sword of Truth which is NONE / NONE.

Considering this weapon will be weilded by a Post 60 character fighting mobs that hit in excess of the proc 90 percent of the time, it will rarely cover the damage from one hit. In my opinion, a Rune that would cover from 750 to 1500 dmg would be much more suitable to this weapon. Make it useable by on Post 60 lvls.
A rune or other damage skin absorbs all of the damage of any given hit as long as the buff is up. If it is a 60 point skin, and something hits you for 400, you take nothing. If it hits you for 59 and then hits you for 400, you take nothing from either hit. Otherwise it would have been a sick, sick joke having shieldskin on my SK... Still only ever stopped two, maybe three shots if I was lucky though. ;)
that's not true at all, i'm afraid. runes only cover however much the rune is for. so if you have a 100 point rune and get hit for 200, you're gonna take 100 dammage and the rune will be gone. it will only absorb 100 dammage before it goes off.
if rune worked the way you think it does, it would be waaay too powerful. would have made things like AOW fight trivial back in the day with a chain rune rotation. same with emperor ssrae. spellshield would have absorbed his 4k proc, but it doesn't. it just absorbs the 700ish dammage and then fades off and you take the other 3300 dammage.

actually it did work that way when the person posted that info, which is why chainruning was once a very valid tactic, and still is in some encounters.

Once you're fighting high end mobs, you'll take all the damage mitigation you can get. forget that it's a rune, and look at it more like a heal. your weapon now procs a 230pt heal. which adds to your over all hps, for free. no mana, no casting time, just free hps.

Heh, in addition to that, casting Rune is GREAT taunt... Mobs HATE HATE HATE when you do that :o/ I play a bard, and sometimes I get agro accidentally simply by playing my runeshield song in my twist rotation. It carries heavy agro, maybe not as big as charm/mez or debuff, but it's BETTER than an agro increasing proc because you also have a bit of HP's being saved on the next melee round. Plus... it'd be silly to have something like rune 5 on there, if you look at the levels of procs, when you're getting lv 50ish loots, the procs are lv 30ish spells. It's right in line with Verant's previous weapon ideas, and perfectly balanced.

I have to say rune III would be usefull. This is a nice soloing weapon for all the classes that can use. And for those boss mobs in cases where the clerics cant seem to keep up with the CH rotation, A warrior wielding this would help keep him alive. Even more useful for a boss mob that lifetaps.

Posted: Dec 12 2002 at 1:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) had about 60 on last seru raid. u noobs. dont flame. why waste the time. if u spend an hour reading these. then get help. he hits for 800ish at max. more around 500 on average. 65 shammy slowed him first attempt. immediate. basically havge a pally pull to MT who is away from everyone else. after he takes curse have a cleric fix it. not sure on his AE DoT retimer but have melee go back oin forth. fight takes about 20 mins for us. or did the first time. if u get hit with the AE u r dead. do not and i repeat do not walk away from him if u attack him. stay away from clerics. have all healers on one side and no m,elee go over there at all. and have all nukers on another side. all i ahev to say. getting to him isnt all that hard. clearing through about 15 60+ mobs. then no mobs in maze. then a couple wanderers outside his room. kill em and head in. there are tiles on the floor. if u move up anywhere near his platform u get aggro. he has a very small aggro range. and stay away from walls. u will aggro things on the other sides. repop on gaurds at the doors to his room is 19 minutes, exactly.

He can be taken i know of it. On Cazic-Thule. EoD(Elements of Darkness) have taken him twice that i know of becuase i I have a friend in EoD and she was one of the tanks.. he quads for like 800dam so u better be hard a$$ to try this.. So to up coming guilds don't be stupid and don't try him until every one in your guild is 60+ with a whole lot of AA's.

This sword is pretty common...Out of the last 5 Seru kills, it has dropped 3 times for my guild.

Only seen one other weapon with this effect, which I have, called Runed Blade. It rather pales in comparison to this however. Someone mentioned skill opposed to equipment. It has nothing to do with skill when your a warrior dummy, its all about equipment (AC). A ranger in OS roots mob steps back and solos there all day long get all the AA's that he can to boost his arrow shots can do tremendous damage. 1 war, 1 druid, Cleric, Enchanter in group: Warrior tanking Druid/Enchanter/Cleric nuking dotting. The Ranger KSed us with a freaken bow discipline. And for the rogue assasinate skill it does 32,000 dmg when it hits instantly killing said mob. Same goes for the AA skill finishing blow. Not paladin specific any melee can use it, even a bard.
First off, It's not embarassing when you lose to Seru. If you can get to Seru and lose to him thats better than 90% of the player base thx. He's highend Luclin. Second the room isn't that small. You can get more than 30 people in easily.

this sword is as of now the best sword in the game. with a damage jumping over the ratio this thing does even more damage then tantors at a faster dps rate. this is better then the paladin epic, sk, warrior, ranger... in itself this is an epic. there is not a more damaging sword in the game then this. the bad news? its now pretty damn impossible to get. even with the level cap hiting 65 wont help much. since manaburn cant be used on a mob until each minute you need an army. he quads for 800 and his dot does about 350 damage per tick. which means if your a caster you better not get hit with the dot let alone the initial attack which he does almost every 2 seconds.
the main tank had better be one tough mutha cuz when he dies, note how i said when. then this guy will pick off people who agroed him in order. dont even try to run, once you do 1 point of damage if you peep your head out of the door expect massive adds. this is also a very smart mob. he detects if someone is casting succur or gate and jumps over everyone to deal out death to that person. hes smarter then a dragon and in the small room hes in you cant escape him if he decides to attack you. as for his 2 bodyguards who both hit for 400 plus and complete heal him, are in themselves a small dragon battle.
the question is how many people can fit in that room and even if 30 can how long will they last when the AE dot hits them.

when ya get up to the level of killing this **** you usually have DKP (i think thats like dragon killing points or whatever) which you get a few for a raid that you go on with that guild and the leader of the guild or raid leader or one of those dudes puts a DKP price on the item and the people that have enought DKP to get this item and HAVE A USE FOR IT!!!! get to either roll or a lotto is done some guilds do things different... and i could be totally off on the whole DKP thing but i don't think i was off by tooo far...any way i'm done
This isn't a mob that you would kill with a random raid like plane of hate/fear. It requires a skilled guild. By the time a guild is actually capable of killing Lord Inquisitor Seru, you aren't going to be rolling on items. You will be deciding who gets what.
i dont think the ppl who kill this mob will be Rolling for anything it drops. LOL
and just maybe he was speaking of a Alt he plays and not the Cleric as the looter.

the sword he wields is the sword of truth, which you can look up in the item list for seru loot. unfortuneately, the BBB looks just like all the other 2 handed luclin swords. no special graphic at all =/
