On zeb, my guild has done emp 6 or 7 times, and I think this ring dropped 4 times. I was there every raid. Was award to 2 diferent rogues, 1 monk and me (warrior).
Dropped for us on Wednesday May 5, 2004. First one I've seen drop with my own 2 eyes. Went to a Rog.
Ultra Rare should be the Rarity, not Rare.
EDIT: 5/12/04 we killed him again and he dropped 2 rings... think he's trying to make me look bad, so I take back what I said about it being ultra rare... :)
Ok, I found this chainmail listed on Magelo, but not here. Anybody know anything about it or which mob drops it? Don't much care about these rings myself, but this chainmail has Vengeance 6 on it and would be really sweet for my rogue (and probably really annoying to the MT trying to taunt over his DPS, LOL). I would assume the chainmail also drops in the temple since the other Azaliil items do. Any info?
I think this ring should go to brd, rng, pal, shd, bst (melee casters) primarily. Sure, it's great for all the classes listed and I wouldn't complain if any warrior got this.
However, when you kill the Emperor, you gain access to Vex Thal. In Vex Thal, Diabo Xi Xin Thall drops:
Ring of the Crimson Bull MAGIC ITEM NO DROP Slot: FINGERS AC: 20 STA: +35 HP: +100 Recommended level of 60. Effect: Invigor (Casting Time: 1.0) WT: 1.0 Size: MEDIUM Class: ALL Race: ALL
Which one is more tuned for a non-hybrid? The one from VT seems far more tuned for war/mnk/rog.
As of the patch that replaced the Stamina bar to the Endurance as discipline stamina bar, the Ring of the Crimson Bull's effect has been changed from Invigor to Serpent Sight. Same cast time, just different effect.
Doesn't make a difference to this argument, just chiming in on that to see if it sways some opinions :-)
By the time a guild is killing this guy, STA is no longer an issue. At level 60 in a HoT guild I am already passing off STA gear for Raw HPs. Ring of the Crimson Bull isn't bad, but when Shammies can buff you to over your max STA easy you should be looking for Raw HP gear instead.
Azaliil's Ring is about the best ring for pretty much any class who isn't on Tier 4 or above at this point.
There are more things to point out too. Az's ring has more of a probability of dropping on a raid than the CB ring, plus a guild is more likely to be suited and ready to do Ssra than VT. I like it as a hybrid ring, but only since I am a hybrid. I could see where the pure melee could use this though.

maybe the hybrids should tank Emp then lol. And yes this ring and ring of crimson bull would be a great set for any lvl 65 warrior in a guild that can get both. You'd think you would want your MT over 9k hp's.
Any of the classes that can use it should get a chance at it. How many 20 AC, 15 sta, 125 Hp, 15 sv all rings are there? If you dropped the int/wis and mana, this is would be an uber warrior ring, so why shouldn't they have a shot at it?
most items have hp and mana , saying that if an item has mana , it should go to someone that can use it is naive. cuz 99 % of items have mana. warriors / rogues / monks are more then 1 % of the population.
stats dont matter much, they are a pleasant extra to all items, you reach your max unless you´re stupid.
saves matter a bit and they are good for EVERYONE,
vengence usually NOT ALWAYS goes to melees FT will nearly always go to casters Focus items ususally go first to pure casters.
Hybrids mana pools are important, and should drop to near zero often during clearing for a raid. They should drop to near zero during engaging the main mobs.
If they dont then they wont help much .. if they do, your raid performance will reflect it.
If your hybrids dont NEED to spend this mana, then your raids are too big, or your players too incompetent. Reduce the size of your guild .. I suggest starting with the incompetents.
ZILTH
You said "your stats will be maxed if your not stupid". Incorrect, your stats will be maxed if your not a hybrid. Its difficult to get all physicals plus a brain stat maxed. Brain buffs only add 25(or something close) to Wis/Int where Stamina can be pumped up around 80 points. All hybrids will probably make some compromise between physicals and mana stats .. however they are unlikely to max wis/int at 305 until they have spent a lot of time in Elemental planes.
