I am told that you have to go to the Magician's guild in Felwithe and turn in batwings to raise faction to amiable. I am trying that currently, but also found that you can go to WC and kill Kizdean Gix to raise faction. That may prove to be more fun as I have already turned in 132 batwings and am still indifferent.
