Surprised there is no mention about this before.
You need 2 of these for the 'Against the Sands' armor quest which is given by V'Lynn Renloe in the Plane of Knowledge to new players.
There are 9 parts to the quest, and steps 2-3 have to do with 'Pristine Scarab Eye' from Southern Ro Desert.
Step 2 - Loot 2 'Pristine Scarab Eye' from Sand Scarabs
Step 3 - Deliver 2 'Pristine Scarab Eye' to Becoreen Pathfinder (she's near the Wizard platfrom)
When your done all nine steps of the quest, you get your 'Note About Third Trial' from V'Lynn Renloe which you bring to your Guild Master.

This is also found on Sand Beetles in No and So Ro. I have a couple of them, but still haven't figured out what they're for.

Confirmed that South Ro is still good for Sand Scarabs and this drop.
