oh great...just turned 51 and got me a tree weave started to think that hey i aint to far away from the power players that always seem to have 200 more ac then me better attack better everything, then they bring this stupid thing out...ill never get it...and if i do its only because the new BIG thing out that everone else has will be 350 ac and plus 150 to all stats and resists.......shoulda just stayed in banded and say **** on it

let me be one of the first (if i am) to say dont worry about stats. stats only do so much but as a melee you need (depending if your a MT or not) in order of importance hp resist ac (swap resist and ac if you are one of the MTs)

HP really really should not be high on that list...AC is king for melee, resist, agi, str next maybe. High HP just feels nice hehe, AC is what saves the cleric's mana, thus your life.

Ahem... you know about AC soft cap, and the HP needs for a main tank in a high end raid? All the 60 lvl warriors I know, drool over 100 or more hps items far more than over higher AC items
Thats because they maxed AC, if you have 1250 AC, HPs rule, if you dont, get the AC so you get get HPs, cuz HPs rule! (I play a necro, so HPs ALWAYS rule :p) Bottom line, AC = less damage from attack... Even if it's just 1 less damage per hit... dude, fighting high end mobs, you gonna get hit ALOT... if you aint MT, then resists and HPs (Depending on who you're fighting) but If you plan on goin toe to toe... AC is it

Ok, perhaps you should look at the stats again? Having taken a moment to surf some of the Magelo profiles of the individuals in FoH and AL to see exactly what they're sporting... ye might have some nice lewtz there, junior, but this is still up there with the rest of the godly gear. For a Warrior? Ok, maybe not the best, but this does make a valid piece for Pallies/SK's. Sure, maybe it's not the l33t3st thing out there for your ub3r bad self. Wooo! Who can't live without that groovin' INVIGORATE effect! Maybe you'd even like something that PWN's this. Maybe, just maybe, you need to accept the fact that you DO spend too much time playing a game and need to experiment with something else until you quit living for dream loot. Because it's just sad when you DREAM about loot. I'm an EQ addict, I can admit that and do so with relatively little shame. I marathon play on weekends, I put in 6-7 hours a night during the week usually. Should I play this much? Hell no, I'm a flake for doing so. I realize this, however, and try to get in some quality RL time as well as EQ play time. I enjoy the game, but I am loathe to say that anyone that lives for EQ is a sad case. Particularly when they whine over loot like this. Pitiful... just... pitiful. Mind you, this isn't a flame against uber guilds, if you can pull it together and kill these things, hey good for you. This IS a flame on your attitudes, though. You've gotten yourselves so wrapped up in EQ that you neglect the concept that we play for fun, not just for bigger, better loot. If that's all EQ is for, you may as well move back home with mom and dad and let them support you because with that logic, EQ will never end for you. Regardless of what you THINK you should have, this is what you did get. It IS uber loot, where else are you going to dig up a 75 AC BP with those added HP's? Yeah... the options are just LIMITless aren't they? Let's play for fun, celebrate your 75 AC chest guard of DHOOM and plzdrivethru.

Here I am again, needing to speak out but knowing it won't make a damn bit of difference one way or another. But here goes.

If I spent the countless months and countless failures that you guys did to begin to camp the Lord Inquisitor and ended up with some stuff like this I would be certainly pissed off. I mean sheeeit, would the sleeper only drop something moderately better? It doesn't make sense and yes, it feels like a ripoff. However, like many people say, this is just a game. I hope you had at least SOME personal satisfaction of killing this here overpowered/crap loot table MOB. I mean, friends. There may be thousands and thousands of people on everquest, but the truly 'uber' people are the ones that not only have the raw force of mad lewt and L33T skillz, but they also have the intelligence and the knowhow to organize a raid to bring something that most of us would consider a lost cause the first time we say the screen say "INVULNERABLE" down. Kudos to FoH, Afterlife and any other guild that has brought this atrocity down. You are truly the masters of EQ. But please, if the risk for these things is too much for you to bear, start a new character and don't twink out. Remember the sheer joy of conquering that first young kodiak with your fine steel scimitar. As for me, I'm going to go camp for Shissarbane weaponry. I've got an appointment with the Emperor. And he'll probably drop a jagged band for all I know. =)

"CHEERS TO YOU" I love to play but I also love to conquer, so what type am I? (yup prolly confused :-)) I love twinking out a new character and just go out and kill reds and yellows, and sit there and watch newbs and others ask me if I need help, then when the mob drops say "Nope Im Fine Thank You" then trot off to find a new victim.

If it had the same sort of stats that the "Sword of Truth" had it would unbalance the classes to much. I just really hope that the New Expansion Lets people go up to Lvl 70 that way all of the Uber dorks can go and whine about something else, as they fight to get up to Lvl 70.
That and I really wish people would realize that if they want totally UBER LOOT you should go back to playing "Diablo 2" Where you actually have to do the boring linar campaign alone, unless you are playing it on line. And if you playing it off line you can get the editor and make you character just the way you want. get him the best gear and start him al Lvl 99 to begin the game.

Ill admit im not totaly Uber but how in the world can anyone even begin to complain about this item? dude 75ac 20wis other stats the resists the mana the HP..it may not have a effect but who cares? This is one of the best BP ive seen..and for those Lizards its IKSAR WEARABLE! This item is SWEET! well good hunting and safe journey to all.

Get over it. If you get so worked up because you waste 2-4 monthes of your life, farming stuff 8 hours a day to get an item you don't like, mabey you should cut some of that time and invest in something worthwhile, like.. oh, a job mabey?
Or perhaps a girlfriend, boyfriend, a spouse, who knows.. the possibilites are endless!
Hell, pick up a book and read it, that could take up a few hours.
The originals were better, but because people decided to exploit to get them, they were all nerfed, ***** to those people about the BP that drops now, since verrant apparently had a better item on the loot table.
The stats on this item are good, to say the least. So this isn't the best item in the game, get over it. Go get a key to Vex Thal and see what's there, I'm sure it'll be better than what this guys drops.
You see that people have taken him out, and you can find out what he drops.. and if you don't like it, don't waste your time making the seru bane weapons, don't waste time on farming things, and tradeskills.
If you want completely overpowered items, go buy Diablo, or Diablo 2 and use a training program, then you can make whatever you want.
Or make your own game, be it mud, online rpg, or whatever.
You could even apply to work for verrant, and work your way up to deciding what kind of items are in the game.
Best thing I could think of though, is instead of spending 8hours a day for 4 monthes.. exercise, and go find a significant other. If you actually play that much, just to complain about the game, it looks like EverQuest is not the game for you

If a BP like this dropped, it would go to the MT's before anyone else. I do not care. I was there and helped take him/it down. Some day it will be my turn to get a nice drop. Then I will go to the nearest Bar/Inn and drink myself silly.

Is V trying to dispell the high end here? Why would they nerf it? Rediculous. V is stuck on themselves. Clearly, in retrospect from Old world to new, this item is sweet indeed. However, given the sacrifices made - I would have expected the previous BP drop to be in line. <sigh> Just one more reason NOT to be Uber. Then again, V could have put nothing on Seru.

You people who are ragging on the uberguilds and the high level players, well you need to shut up, and here's why:
1. You must complete several fairly difficult and long quests (Earring of Veracity quests) before you can even make a key to get into Lord Inquisitor Seru's chamber to fight him.
2. You must farm extremely rare components off of mostly green-to-level-60-mobs for oftentimes days to gather forth the necessary items just to create one Serubane weapon, as Seru cannot be harmed by normal weaponry.
3. You must raise your blacksmithing skill to at least 200 in order to even hope of suceeding on a combine of the aforementioned Serubane weapon, and even at 250 skill, they aren't trivial.
4. Given the godlike amount of hit points of Seru (who could easily take the Avatar of War), this breastplate is a slap in the face.
Any and all loot off this NPC should be clear and far-away more powerful and impressive than anything Vulak A`err ever dropped. I'm so sick of hearing whiny level 30 to 50 players on this site ***** and moan about the high level people calling loot crap (which this loot is, by the way). You have NO idea the time and effort required to simply PARTICIPATE in this encounter, you have no idea the DAMAGE this NPC deals out per second, you have no CLUE how to even *MAKE* the weapons necessary to kill him and yet you already cry out in disgust over something which you have absolutely no concept of. Level to 60, then collect about 50 AAXP points so you're character is somewhat useful in these fights, then go camp the key necessary for Seru, then go camp the components necessary to make the weapons to kill him, THEN, go work your blacksmithing to 250 so you might have a chance to make the item, THEN make sure you have at least 39 other people do this and THEN convince them all to show up one day and kill Seru and THEN... after all that work is done, if you *still* feel this breastplate is worth the effort it requires to obtain, then you can come back here and *****. Until you do, just shut your mouth and stick to what you know about.
Ideally the stats on this should have been somewhere around:
AC: 100 (or AC: 99 if 100 is not a valid number)
STR: +25 STA: +25 WIS: +25 INT: +25 AGI: +25 DEX: +25 CHA: +25 HP: +125 MANA: +125 SV FIRE: +35 SV COLD: +35 SV POISON: +35 SV DISEASE: +35 SV MAGIC: +35

I agree with the class availability as casters have Sal`Varae's robe off of Vulak if they were lucky enough to get it, and once the Ring of Vulak is working properly, they should be able to get it again. Although I will say I would have opted for this as a cleric... it definitely beats out any Velious breastplate available to a cleric.
As a little add-on to my original post:
One thing you need to understand is that the ubers aren't crying out "worthless item" because of the stats of this breastplate. Anyone can look at the stats of this breastplate and realize, "Hey, that's one darn fine breastplate." Is anything worth camping for months, for eight hours a day? When your old and grey do you ever think you might wish you could have some of that time back.?
Perhaps the point isn't killing Seru for his drops, perhaps the point is achieving something that almost no one is capable (or willing to do the prep work) of. This is a roleplaying game, and the genre is full of stories of heros who bested enemies and had nothing to show for it but their wounds and honor. If you only measure successs by the drops you can loot, you're missing the entire point of the game, in my opinion.
actually theres a story behind him and he probably shouldnt be killed if his sword is what i think it is (truthbringer) im gonna try to find the site to post it here (some eq-lore since no one reallizes its related to most gm events...past, present, or future)

Wow! finally found someone that sees the game through my eyes, and not that of the lewt w#%#$.
Seeing as most guilds would rush this guy with like 60+, that being quite a small estimate, the mass majority of people on the raid itself wont be gettin anything. And in a guild of that size, if your like 20th on the list for gettin such a BP, dont be expecting to have one of these fall in your lap for another half a year or so. Unless of course he spawns fast... but Im sure hes on a few day spawn time, and being his good loots are most likely RARE!, he wont be droppin to much good stuff to often. Enjoy killing him for the sake of killing him. Enjoy the idea that your hard time and effort finally succeeded. So what he dropped 4 items that the 4 main guys in the guild cant wear. Join the crowd! theres at least 56 people who cant really say anything, because at least those 4 got something.

K normally I dont flame people but.....Im grabbin all the pallets and old tires and dousing it with rocket fuel to make a bonfire for this one! If you think this item is a PoS YOU NEED A LIFE! Are you only going to be happy with a BP that has unlimited clickable instant cast Rune XXV and has flowing thought CCL? If ya dont want this BP let me know when your takin Seru down and Ill be happy to relieve you of the burden of having to make a slot in your bank for it.

'sides even if that holds little to no truth.. what bout the new expansion.. they said at one point raising player levels to 60+ maybe the ac cap will raise with it.. anybody who doesnt want this needs to go play a druid an stay out of hard hitting raid mobs way. LOL

Well i was reading the FoH forum and some1 from afterlife was posting and the only person who acually wanted this PoS item was a cleric ... it looks just like Donal's just a bit darker
and acually the first Bp with ( effect regrowth and + 15 dodge ) was looted via exploit and is now a neg 99 ac / neg 99 all stats / neg 99 all resists..... VI replaced that with this ><

Being that the Guild Leader of FoH is wearing this BP (or at least his magelo says he is), I would highly doubt is deserves the title of "PoS" ... Besides, name for me a few higher ac bps? I know a few exist, but its a short list. More saves would be nice, but all in all, this is still in the top 5 of best BP's in game.

The risk vs reward on this sucks, not warriors in FoH, unless they are twinks, would want this. They have all hit the AC soft cap and this would do very little for them...vendi bp is better with the +atk and 2 hp regen. Verant just had to nerf this thing didnt they, first time FoH took him down he dropped it but it had effect regrowth and +15 or 20% dodge or defence (prolly defence) and was much much better than most other bps but the nerf has made it worthless...cept maybe to a cleric or bard...
If anyone is complaining about a BP like this, they should be shot. Period. If you are inclined to say it sucks, take a step back and think about the words coming out of your mouth. 75 AC, 20 Str and Sta, Great saves. Perfect for ANY plate class. But my Sta is already maxed. Boo-hoo, now you can switch out some Sta stuff for more resists. 20 Int and Wis, 100 Mana. Perfect for any Hybrid class. If you ubers are really THAT bored, then sorry, nothing is going to make you happy. This BP rocks and that is the truth.

You seem to be missing the point on purpose. The point I am trying to get across is that there is nothing wrong with this itemin MY opinion. It's is better than anything that 99.999% of all EQ players are EVER gonna get. Hell, 99.9% won't even get the Statue bp. If this isn't good enough what is? Right clicky Cheal? Effect: Invulnerability? God-Mode?
Yeah people's STR and STA are maxed. Yeah people don't wear gear specifically for STA. That's not what I said at all and you know it. Everything has STA on it already. But some things have more than others. You wanna make sure you are capped out in all things important. So if you can get a nice big chunk of what you need in one place, it makes it easier to fit in more of what you need other places. Then you can add more of what you need for the next encounter. For all the min-maxing that Ubers do, I'm sure that they can work this into their systems. If someone has no use for a 75AC 100HP 100MANA +saves BP, then it might be time to stop raiding and begin retirement. THAT is the point.
If all key stats are capped, if AC is capped, If HP is maxxed thru gear, stats and buffs, and ATK is higher than you ever dreamed, what is the point of wanting new loot? The thrill of doing it of course. But then why all the crying when it's not what you expected it would be. Something that admittedly wouldn't make much difference anyway. I don't understand that.

Get over it......if you don't like the time it takes to get this weapon the don't get it. Some people do things in this GAME because they think its fun to build it up and say "yep i did that one day and got this" you shouldn't always worry about taking down some uber mob because of its loot, sometimes just be happy with accomplishement because even if this had the best stats in the world, who's to say you would win it out of 40 people on the raid.......so if you're not willing to accept the fact that this is a game and V can run it however they want then might i suggest go taking an overdose of reality? it seems like you've been caught in a fantasy world for a little too long.

Personally, I think there's some info that's not in yet. The Emperor had to be killed to get into Vex. It's quite possible that something in Vex will require items from this bad boy. If that's true, then taking him down MAY be worth it (though I can't imagine what would be worth prepping your guild to the point that you could take the Emp AND Seru... it would have to be a way to kill the sleeper or open a new plane, nothing less).
