Giand Wood spider thorax and femur are easily dropped in the spiders of Qeynos Aqueduct (Catacomb) , I killed some large spiders and sluge spiders in this zone, and these two items are fairly easily dropped . e.g., I killed 2 large spiders and found 2 giant wood spider thorax in each spider
well I know for a fact they didnt stop this Thorax dropping as a friend got 1 yesterday after about 5 hours looking. Myself been after it about 7 hours no luck, killed over 20 Giant yellow Jackets, at 1 point i got anoyed and bought my lvl 58 monk to the zone to try killing everything to pop more wasps. 2 things happened. got 6 wasps in about 25mins still no Thorax but hey at least i saw the mobs i wanted. 2nd thing surprised the hell out of me, I know last patch said they upped the respawn rate of mob in newbie zones but WoW. my monk had like 50 bodies rotting on the groud (/ooc ed for others after other quest items to feel free to loot the corpses if anything of thiers dropped) and yet i couldnt clear the hill neear Shadowy Assasins camp coz the things just kept popping right back.
I got a result from this though. Basicaly need more ppl to hunt that area past the wall to pop the wasps, when i was there only 2 ppl max there hence the lack of wasp pops, you want wasps call in some lvl 10 friend s to come xp and take out that side of the for it :)
OK, I just spent the last week trying to complete this one. Had a 27 Ranger helping me, we camped all the wasps in Misty for 7hours trying for the Thorax. No dice. I got every other peice of No Drop on that side of the wall, Lumberjack items, Giant Spider stuff, Everything a Wasp can Drop, EXCEPT the Thorax.. Anyone have ANY suggestions on how to finish this stinking Quest??
You both are very dumb or have no luck. THIS QUEST IS NOT BROKEN. I completed this quest myself in 30 min. The Thorax dorps of a Giant YellowJacket. I had to kill 3 yellowjackets to get the thorax and everything else was easy.
You and me both. I've said it before and i'll say it again. I HATE BEES!!! One stung me in da face the day and now doin this quest (i have every other piece already) it's like these bees r slappin me in da face as well! And I been doin da collectin with my 41 druid and I can't get the damn thorax how the F*** is a lvl 8 halfling supposed to do it?!!! The drop rate is just plain F***ed up on this! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Where's the Advil?
got the boots , now im trying the tunic, these higher lvl guys have nothing to worry about . alot of the no drop stuff required for these quests is really hard to get . have all for the tunic except giant wasp thorax (havent seen one yet , but killed plenty of wasps) Blimmey, lvl 11 rogue, halfing
MANNN WTF if I had that shirt at lvl 20 I be peeing on myself. My poor rogue wore banded for a LONG time. Nothing else better was really available till you went plainar. Personally now that I got my Ragebringer I dont care if I run around naked the rest of my eq days ;)

Don't worry, this stuff won't be here for long before it gets whacked by the VI Nerf Bat. Enjoy it for now (if you can find more than 0 yellowjackets). Why do they always show up at picnics and not the Misty Thicket...??
simple answer, when Planes of Power comes out, the maz lvl will be set to 70 or 75 or something like that, that means that lower level characters should not have to work so hard to lvl.
Example, if the max lvl were lvl 100, a character should not hafta work work very hard to get to lvl 20.
If thae max lvl were 20, achieving that level should be made far more difficult.
the new class newbie armor is great stuff. My DE rogue is 21 and is still wearing the majority of her ashen bone mail. i love it because it's a better quest than "go kill 4 of ____ and return their _____'s to me for a ______ reward"
thank you VI, now just finish the quests for the rest of the races, eh? ;)
After seeing all of these SlickFinger rogue items for a halfling. Im kinda sorry I chose to make a barbarian rogue. The black wolf items I quested for were not nearly as nice as these(mask is only exception). These quests sound more fun and challenging then just killing mammoth calfs for hides. The dark blue look is nice. If I have some spare time, Ill get around to making a halfling rogue and collecting this armor. The Slickfinger dagger looks cool too. I'm guessing from reading the quest and level to obtain, smithing is not required to make these items. Is this correct?
Gratz to those that have this looks cool and have very respectable stats.
Especially since the Barbarian Rogues will be getting their own newbie quest armors along with all the other Barbarian classes ( Beastlords excluded since they already have theirs). I am surprised by how much Dex is given though, most of the other armors only give 1 or 2 point increases. I can only guess it's because VI loves the Hobbits more so they give them a bigger advantage.
