Epics 1.0 are crap

Who wants to waste thier time getting this junk anyway?I'd rather go to the bazaar and spend 1k and get way better gear than this junk. This was good 5 years ago.Kinda like black and white TV's were great at 1 time but you wouldn't want one now would ya?

My epic 1.0 is one of my most used pieces of equipment. They aren't ALL obsolete.

Besides, most are soloable now, and as already pointed out, they can be finished, rather than the epic 1.5 pre-quest, to trigger the epic 1.5

And to the other poster, the epic 1.5 is a seperate quest, for a different item. The lead in is that you EITHER need to have the 1.0 done, or do an alternate pre-quest to get the quest giver to give you the quest.

some folks do their epic for a sense of satisfaction, thus, these are a trophy. some folks would rather do epic 1.0 than the prequal to get access to do epic 1.5.

i'm sure there are other reasons too.

to each their own.

I'm still a bit lost on epics. Neither my main, nor any of my alts have their epics. A large part of this is due to lack of raiding guilds, but also, until fairly recently, I didn't have any characters over lvl 50.

What is an epic 1.5? A 1.0 with an augment?

Just curious.

haha. being as i play on a PvP server i'm almost tempted to do the epic quest for this item alone. not much out there for beastlord bp's that are worth thier salt and are nodrop. the really nice ones are only for raid events it seems. it's one of my most touchy subjects since i'm still sporting my noob bp i got at level 9 and 60 is getting pretty close.

is pretty nice, and insanely easy to get, if you know a druid, ranger or wizard who can kite it.

Duid or wizzy would be easiest, as then can port/succor you to WW easily.
Someone let this rot...

My buddie and I were huntin bandits and shrooms one night when some guild came up to finish the epic. They actually left this to rot after it was done. I had considered making a troll beastie for a while ( dunno why.. just like the gator thing ) and this prompted me to finally do it. Corpse had 25 min on it, created my guy, killed himself, ran to book, got a hand off and took a hit from a gnomish vanishing device, and bam.. had my 'epic' tunic within 10 min or so. Thanks to whatever guild it was on Torv to allow me to do it... makes me wonder what THEY were wearing. Heh.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 14 2003 at 8:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) All of those items you named ARE NOT plate armor. They give a plate look but are not in anyway plate armor. I think you should be the one paying attention.
Sure plate

EQ knows no such distinction as "plate" armour except for the look.
A cleric wearing the exact same gear as a warrior still only has it working at chain mitigation levels.
The only difference is in who wears the piece of armour.
No clicky?

After defeating the end mob of your "epic" weapon you get the drop to turn in and this really cool tunic. What would make it cooler? If it had a right-click effect similar to Wild Lord,Thurg,Kael,SS,PoG. If those 5 chest protectors can have right click brambles, etc., why not this one? Just thinking outloud on that one. I think a right click effect of some kind - Brambles, Health, Raging Stregth, on this chest protector would make it an absolutely fantastic item. That's my $0.10, my $0.02 is free. ;-)

You wont get the tunic every time you kill the end mob. A friend of mine got the arms and legs, but no tunic
RE: No clicky?

the reason you don't get a right click is that bst's who get this far in their epic rarely need it and it ends up going to a level 13 bst like i was at the time that he was killed, got two bracers, and the tunic, no arms or greaves though, oh well, it's an awesome upgrade to my acrylia studded tunic i was using
#Tassoth, Posted: May 12 2003 at 2:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is not a flame, but you are right that when we do kill draz and get whatever item he drops we will not need the effect. I personally got the chest, bracer and gloves when we killed him.
Mob Name
# Jun 13 2002 at 7:59 AM Rating: Default
Draz is a Dark Animist, so it does drop from the Dark Animist. Just like you are either a Beastlord, Primalist, Animist, or Savage Lord and if you were truly evil you may be called "Dark" as well.
Mob name

It's Draz Nurakk, not Dark Animist (unless that was the PH name on Test server before the quest went live). We just killed him today to finish epic for Raptis, our guild's Beastlord. This was the second Beastlord epic on E'ci =)

Sweet! Congrats to whoever it was in your guild that got their epic! Nice chestpiece for a Beastlord, btw!

A beastlord in full plate?

I dont think you know what beastlord is?

Anyway, you should be more concern of the stats rather than looks.

At high level raids such us ToV and sleepers, good looks is the last thing you have to worry about.

There are a few chain and plate items that beasts can wear. Are you sure YOU know what a beastlord is?
it is possible to have full plate...
square helm, brown chitin arms, brown chitin legs, phase spider carapace, runed mithril bracers, golden efreeti boots, golden efreeti gloves
That combo isn't a bad combo for the beastlords...

I wish people would think before they start posting...there would be alot less needless spam.

There is a valid reason for a BL to aquire the "plate" look. It's a perception by other classes that Plate Armor makes a tank. On the BL discussion forum some beasts have reported increased acceptable into group while wear plate as compared to when they were wearing leather. I plan on testing this myself.

I agree with the general statement though: stats>looks
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 05 2002 at 10:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would expect that "epic" gear would be better looking that say cotiere or shaded armor. They both have a very sweet dark look. Oh well! What do you expect from Verants lazy throw it out there to quell the masses attitude instead of some real quality control and "vision".

Nice wish lists on the magelo profiles. You only messed up in 2 areas. #1 only your 1st profile has ANYTHING in the bank. Secondly all the profiles where last updated within 3 hrs. Keep tryin/dreaming. Also want me to belive you. Pay the $12 [for a years worth of service] and let the magelo updater load your real items and add their authentic symbol to the profiles.
Like my clothes? they're LEATHER

Nothing quite like being forced to look half naked for 60 levels, no matter what kind of armour you are wearing. Save for sarnak tabard, and a few select others, its all that lovely ugly leather look.

Oh well :)
