Verified drop of the Claw of the Khati Shah - we got it tonight with 2 groups. We didn't read the post earlier about keeping a person in each tent to stop ~1.5 min respawn in each, but our Ranger caught it. This is crucial as we wasted a TON of mana and about 10 mins of straight combat till catching on LoL. Medalion has 1 type 7 slot. We waited a bit after killing the Claw and looting with no sign of Vah Shir entering camp. Had time to run back to the outpost, talk to General, and run back with still no sign. They finally showed up when we pulled out peeps out of the tents. Don't know if timing was coincidence or not, but they took the camp. Vah Shir Prospector returned with them. The LT on the platform who accepts the guard orders from AC is still broke btw - the bag still will not combine both sets of orders.

Since the redoing of the Grimling War in April, it now works like this.
See General inside camp. Ask him which camps?
He'll show a list of red, green and light blue, with the appropriate texts. When I went, someone else had cleared 7 of the camps. I took a group and did the last 2.
There are a LOT of grimlings in this camp, but it can still be done with one group. When you clear a tent, stick a person inside of it. (We could have saved SO MUCH time if we'd known this earlier!) Vah Shir pops in the rocks, surrounded by grimlings. Everyone get out of the tents, kill off the grimlings, and kill the Vah Shir. (He was KoS to me, an ally Vah Shir, and had no faction hit). He summons skels, so ignore them and just kill him off. Dropped the medal (same stats), and a piece of plate armor.
Looking to continue this quest..but it looks like Sony left us a dead end here.

I'm not sure if this will help or is old information. Last I heard you were suppose to combine this, in a box the guards at fort give you, with your Vah Shir Officer cloak. Not sure what award was/is or if it is even working now that they have revamped zone.
That WAS the upgrate to "The Vah Shir Hero Cloak"... it is now gone. :-/
I completed the 8th war in Grimling Forest and on the last cycle of Grimlings, a named one spawned and dropped 2 sets of the Arms needed for this quest. I kept the arms but have not turned them in yet. Will do so tomorrow and let you know.
Since they've revamped Grimling someone posted that this quest was easier to do. Have they changed the stats on the medal to be less now that it is apparenlty easier to attain?

Nope, stats are just as good. It's pretty easy to get at 60+ really, the time consuming part is clearing all the camps first. (Most of these can be done solo by a beastlord or with a small group.) Once they're all cleared, just kill the kos Vah Shir at the end for the medal (which will reset the zone, so you only get one). As far as I know he drops it every time. Dropped a Desecrated Breastplate for us too.

Since last patch with the revamp of Grimling Forest, this is now dropping of the final mob (Claw of Khati Sha) in last town raid.

I know how to get the key. But I can't find the Vah Shir prisoner. To get the key there is an imprisoned grimmling in the outpost that doesn't want to die. Talk with them and they talk about a catman being held prison.. don't remember quite the details of the conversation but that's where I got a key.. just couldn't find the Vah Shir. Could someone help with where he is? Preferably not in "loc" :)
Does anyone know how to open the door to the captive vah shir in order to start him walking to the zone out?

How many players are needed for this clearing of the camps and the killing of the NPC?
I DO beleive that everyone who isn't a four year veteran player wants this...wonder if I can round up a bunch of people to quest for it...Tallon isn't the merriest place for wayward wanderers...

Resists + HP > all, atleast in the high end game, ac wont mean jack when your getting AE'd.

It all depends on the class that has this item. Remember this is a key ( or at least it hints this ). I know a lot of casters that are seeling mana items becuase they have 255 in their prime stat. Granted for melee HP is king and most will have a better HP item in range..as for rangers They would just have some high end bow or soon will have a high end bow there. Most wars will have war bow of Zek as well as most rangers. This item is just like having a decent dragons talisman in your range slot..I just wish it was an ear item actually. Be nice to go with my solstice earing.

I come from Tallon, so an item like this in PVP, is just great, is a quick boost to all yer stats

This is a great range slot item for casters and melee's who can't use a Grodan's Idol. My warrior still preferrs his Grodan's Idol (AC 15 12str 10agi 25hp 5vs cold 5vs poison) though. 15 AC and high str (extra attack) and high agi (which adds a few more points of armor rating) is still better than a few extra resists and hit points.

That depends on if you are getting hit by melee or AoE spells. AC isn't always better than Resists.
