These Iron Guardians are no longer in Nek Forest.
However, they are still on the list for 'Monster Summoning' pets in Nektulos, so you might see one if a Mage is in the zone :).
how did these guys come to be made and put on Nektulos watch?

Is this mob STILL in Nek forest and is it the one that drops the Unstackable rune of fulgaration? A 57 ranger tracked this entire zone for a while and never saw one - any idea where else I might get this rune if not off this mob??
They are called golems. Creatures forged by great magic from pieces and parts of various kinds. Some are made of bone, flesh, stone or, in this case, iron. After being created, the mage puts an animation enchantment and sends them to do their bidding. The Tier'Dal are casters of no small accomplishment and can easily create these golem guards to protect their Underdark city, Neriak.
Unfortunately, these Iron Guardians were taken out of Nektulos Forest when the Drow young started forging their unique armor (newbie armor).

As a paladin who has bested many orcs in Crushbone, these guardians were not too happy to see me alive on their watch. During my trips to Lavastorm, I usually would hug the western wall all the way up to avoid any dark elf entanglements. On a couple of these trips I have been pursued by the stone and iron guardians while moving through the northwest corner of Nektulos near the entrance to Lavastorm. In my experiences, these guardians are slow and can be outrun even by the least agile of knights without the aid of magic speed.

i'm a lvl 18 druid i decided to come camp the gaurds near LS zone i waited like 5min between battles before anther came i had one of thses guys come tagging along whippeed him too and theres like 4 gaurds that come near LS now!!!!

these guys range from lvl 18-21 and usually hit for 44 max, atleast thats what they hit me for cuz i'm just an 18 mage :), out of the 20 i've killed so far they've dropped nothing expept for a rune of fulgaration

These guys are weird my lvl 18 half twink i guess cause his armor is bronze but he has a Nashtar greatsword so i dont consider myself full blown twink anyhow you'd think these guys were like lvl 50ish because of armor he conned yellow and i killed him, he onlyt hits for like 20 so he is probably on of the biggest Miscons in the zone

I think that their low end lvl is more like 17 or 18, had one con white to my 18 warrior, still hit like a champ though.

Lol hits like a champ? a lvl 10 champ!He hit my 20 MAGE with NO EQUIPMENT a MAX for 45!

I was camping that guard (still am actually) at level 16. I had these trained on me a couple of times. At 1st I was all set to run like crazy when it conned red to me.
I decided to stick around and see what happened tho, and to my surprise I ended up killing the darn thing. I was pretty proud of myself for that, heh.
I'm a level 16 Eru mage (non-twink, but good equip), and I had a yellow water pet with a rusty halberd. I killed 2 of them in a couple hours. A couple of tough fights, but not nearly as bad as I woulda thought since they were red to me.
I decided to stick around and see what happened tho, and to my surprise I ended up killing the darn thing. I was pretty proud of myself for that, heh.

There's iron guardians in Outpost in The Overthere. Still red to me at 36

I've spent some time in Nek as a Dark elf and not, and I have yet to see one of these, however there are stone guardians, which are lower level and drop no loot.
it usually hang out near lavastorm zone, or deeper into forest where no path leades.

i camped guard by LS for like an hour and saw about 5 of em i think they are more like lvl 25 to 28.

yes they are very hard being a level 19 at the time when i saw my first one still got a good chunk out of him being a mage hehe

The level range appears to be 20-22. I have killed about 20 of them as a 22nd level Druid. They and the stones do drop loot just not very often. I have gotten gems, words, pages, and rings (silver, blood stone), earing (gold) off of both Iron and stone.

SLow and bulky, good druid kiting bait as lightning is rarely resisted by yellow and below cons, they however do have alot of hps, and beware of dragoons and others while your running around
