Buffs itself with "Wrath of the Diminutive" (60-second spell reflect, damage shield, rune). You must do about 1 million HP of damage to overcome the rune. If you do this, your group gets healed. If you fail to overcome the rune before it fades naturally, he AE's "Punishment of Wrath".

you can compleatly keep him from doing his buff all together by hitting him with a cleric mark spell and for those that don't have a real cleric at hand just get the Terror's Juju from A Terror Carver in RoF Crystal Caverns with the one on Terror's Juju it has from my experiance about a 50/50 chance to resist it and if that happens i recemend fading or FDing if possible and without the buff he is not much worse than the other giants i can't give anymore advice on this hope it helps someone. moloed as a lvl 98 SK with all T1 and T2 RoF group gear within a few months of RoF comeing out incase anyone was wondering

I used a 105 necro, a 105 wizard, and a 105 shaman. For me, the key was don't hit him with any melee. Even using the shaman Thorn Wilting anti-DS spell, the DS ate my pets (of all kinds) in just seconds.
I set up one merc healer and two merc casters in burn. I pulled with slow, used swarm pets to stop his attack on the shaman, and got both caster mercs started assisting right away. They picked up aggro pretty quick, and held it while I set some dots from the necro. Most dots were resisted or reflected, especially fire. I don't know if that is consistent, or my experience with the RNG. Anyway, I let the caster mercs bounce agro back and forth, and at about 40%, threw some nukes in from the wizard. As soon as he hit 25%, I used mana burn to finish.
In 3 kills, I got the bow of rot, the diminutive bow, and the sword of the lone tarot. All are recommended 95, required 92 and attunable. When the bows dropped, he didn't appear to be holding anything. When he dropped the sword, he was holding one. I only saw three kills, so YMMV.
I forgot to add, there are 3 placeholders in the area. I didn't record the locations, but they are relatively close together. Two are very close, and the third is behind and around the corner to the right when facing the PH in the room. Only the one is inside a room.

Ok heres how we did it after several wipes.
2 100 Max AA CotF raid geared Rangers, 1 gimp 95 warrior, 2 healers mercs on reactive and 1 dps caster merc on burn. Rangers had trophy and shield in hands, pulled, used bullseye disc and basically let the caster tank it while mercs healed him. dead in a minute or so. warrior stayed invis

Killed tonight 100mage + clr merc. So get fire pet out and cast aegis. and fortify companion. guard it near the prowler. (kill it b4 u pull) pull name with malo and run around the corner. send pet so it will start casting and building agro. pop elemental ward to help take some hits. fade w/ cloak of shadow and move so it summons the pet and also hits the clr merc a few times. back off pet so it pulls named away to guard spot. silent cast and burn him to the ground. WIN!!!!!

100 Ranger + wiz merc on burn 100 Monk+ wiz merc on burn 95 Shammy + healer merc and spamming shammy heals

- Get a paladin to tank it. Normal trash mob pull, but tank has to switch attack off and build aggro with spells & AA. Put possible caster mercs to burn and use taunt if/when you lose aggro.Once casters have burned it's DS switch to normal melee mode and you're fine.

You simply cannot melee this guy. I beat him boxing by using three dps caster mercs with one of them on burn to pull aggro. I healed the one with aggro with my cleric and shaman and he went down quick.
Okay since nobody else has posted this strategy I'll inform those that want to be able to tank this. The simple matter of it is his buff is a damage shield, which means that you can have a cleric cast Mark of **** line of spell on the pull and he can't cast his self buff, making him essentially less than a trash mob. Paladins can also cast this line and if you have neither of said classes, an item drops in RoF crystal caverns that is ALL/ALL called Terror's Juju that casts it.

Couple more things. I pulled with shaman by slowing. Once he buffs with his DS he's very resistant to slow so you want it in right away. He doesn't self buff until he takes some damage so your timer for the 20% damage doesn't start until you do a point. Nothing assists him.

This guy is a beast. Took down a 120k tank in 1-2 seconds. Never got to the AE part. No time to heal.
