De-spawns at 8 AM game time at 884, -1040. This is the point on the eastern side of the zone that he stops at before running south towards the NQ zoneline. Spawns at 8 PM game time slightly south of here and then runs south. He stops briefly at 170, -946, then walks west-by-northwest to 1045, 690 where he once again pauses to consider a small tree. After determining that this tree does not, in fact, contain any deep secrets, he is back on the move, heading east to his despawn point. These three points are his usual "patrol". Once he reaches it between 10 and 11 pm game time he then heads towards the north end of the zone where he will eventually stop and drop a note (between 12 AM and 1 AM game time). The location has been reported to be in three different places (exact locs in the quest - Plaguebringers Proof) but when I followed him it was around 4834, 4. He then runs south, but I lost track of exactly where he goes as I wanted to make sure to get the note he drops. Eventually he winds up resuming his triangular patrol. I caught up with him just after 2 AM game time at his southern point, near the North Qeynos zoneline, and he was on the move to the tree of contemplation before 3.

Wow is his pathing annoying. He spawns on the qeynos side of the qeynos hills and the pathing seems to be one of two paths, which randomly afternate once he reaches 885, -1059, 17. If he heads toward qeynos again , he loops the same loop on the qeynos side of the hills. If he turns and heads toward surefall/bb, then he eventually gets to the spots where he drops the note. 2/3 times Ive watched him all (EQ) night. Only 1 time did he go toward surefall.

Also, Scruffy does seem to be his daytime PH.

Tovax Vmar can also be found in Qeynos Catacombs. Spawned by handing the note Tovax Vmar drops in Qeynos Hills, to S'ragg Bloodheart.

yesterday i was passing thru QH and i gave em a nuke...he dropped Tovaxs Necklace, which is normal, but he also dropped a Kerran Doll. wierd.

My wizzard (then lvl 8)was looting a corpse (I think it was of some skelee) minding her own business and not really keeping her guard up when he laid waste to me the first time. I tried to run, but got hit with his spells. I thought that the only thing that was of any real threat to me in this zone at this point was the rabid grizzlies, boy was I wrong!

I learned the hard way with another necrco NPC (Elial Brooks in Toxx) to not solo these guys unless they con blue and their pet is light blue. Now that I am lvl 11 and can loose xp, I am heeding others advice to wait a few more lvls until trying to solo this jerk. However, if I happen to be grouped with even one other player (especially a hard-hitting tank) and he shows up, it's vengance time...

My journies through the hills become more sparse as my level increases, but everytime I do I always pull up track and wack this idiot. If my faction ever gets too low with the corrupts I'll worry about it then, but man it sure does feel good to kill this guy. I just snare, nuke to 1 bubble then dot him. Waste the pet, then sit and watch him slowly die. Now that is what I call revenge.

i also looted the necklace off of him and cant find anything about it...it must be a fairly new drop...

It's great reading peoples anecdotes about Tovax. The guy was a *massive* pain in the **** to me when I was started out - must have taken me out four times in total.

So there I am, just *dinged* 14 and I am feeling good. I had only 50% mana and 80% health, but I saw Tovax and I thought, 'It's worth a shot'.

Well he chained spell after spell at me, but I managed to take him out with 1/2 a bub of HP left. Then his pet started smacking me. Healed myself up to a bub and then took the pet out as well.

I have to say, though I didn't get much XP or loot, it was *by far* the most satisfying combat victory I have ever had in EQ :-)

Keep in mind that killing Tovax all day combined with turning in gnoll teeth, will result in a Harm Touch for 500+ and a melee of 250+ from Leiutenant Daggaroth (corrupt) as well as a very hard time getting throught Qeynos to the bank without getting the crap beat out of you. There is a faction quest in HH that allows you to turn in HH gnoll scalps for positive faction with corrupts.

My advice is to leave him alone, and ALWAYS pay attention to faction..you never know when it will sneak up on you.

When i was attacked by tovax i was a newbe to the core. i was a first time player at EQ. I was lvl 4, walking around q hills, mindn' my own busneiss. all the sudden i hear something like,"you digust me u shall die!" i freaked! i turned to see a skeleton and a necro who i thought was an enraged PC. needless to say i died quickly. when i went for my corpse he chased me again so i had to zone and then go back for my body. now im lvl 10 and look forward to messin' him up!!

I was about to level 14 and headed out of queynos to surefal to get my eagerly awaited SOW, DOT, bind etc. I was in a great mood to say the least.

All of a sudden I'm being hit by a pet! Now... I'm still a newb and at that point had never even taken a boat ride and had no idea there were pets that would hit you unprovoked on a non pvp server.

I had a moment of WTF!!! and thought I was on Rallos Zek since my first druid was born there. Needless to say I got my bearings quick and proceeded to blast this **** and his pet to bits.

I looted some necro blood and a rusty dagger. I wonder if the blood would work for the quest?
