Rowain McKay says, 'Hail, _____! It's great ta see another adventurer here! I, myself, am a scout. Self employed, like all true adventurers. I can tell ya what's out there, if you're [interested]. I get it if ya got other leads, other things to follow up on, I get it. But other heroes will come along, and I'm here to tell them what I know.'

Rowain McKay says, 'I thought you'd say that! Good for you! Well, I've been out to the place they call the Umbral Plains. This isn't like Norrath at all. Then again, it's not all that different. I mean sure, there's not day or night or whatever here, and the locals have too many arms. Then again, there sure are a lot of really large monsters. I've seen a massive horse thing. Something they call a Zelniak, but huge! There are a lot of those shadow things out there doing some sort of chanting. I have to admit I didn't wait to see what they were going to do with all that magic. And then there were them crazy lookin' things with the big eyes. I crept up on one of them, another massive thing, and when it noticed me it made the most hideous noise! I got my ass out of there when a bunch of smaller ones came runnin'. Anyway, the one real advantage I can offer is a quick way from here into the plains, if you [want] to take your chances.'
