I have a 65 monk and 65 druid that i take here in Nektulos... I fight the guards in front of Neriak as its great for working on defensive skills or disarm etc... Now I fight them mainly to entertain myself..

Just so you know... their max hits on my Monk are 167 but can hit fast... They have around 50,000 Hit points so just know that going into the fight... they are also very magic resistent... All my druid does is land about three C heals per fight and simply just watches hehe... It is also fun to entertain the newbies coming out of the entrance of Neriak...

Here's a little info on darkelf guards. First, depending on where they spawn will determin thier level. If they spawn at the bridge and near the zone to ls, they will be level 15-20ish. The lower level ones still have pretty high magic resist. But darkelfs have natural bonus in magic resist. So that's why they will resist some of your spells, with luck some will hit though. They drop very good loot and give great exp. I got a blue just after killing three guards on my halfelf druid and they allways drop a bronze long sword wich you can selll for about 2pp to vendors. Doesn't sound like much but it adds up. For beginners I'd say try soloing the one guard who stands at the lavastorm entrance for awhile untill you get the feel of them, then try your luck at the bridge guards. There are four of them, so get the ones who start patroling. Becarefull though, if I'm not mistaken there's a Corporal or Sergeant who walks around also who is lvl 30-35ish. He surprised and killed my lvl 36 paly friend. Luckily he was bound close by so I just dragged his corpse to ec zone and oh yeah, if they spawn at the entrance to Neriak, then they'er lvl 50.

My level 46 necro was in Nek forest and saw our friend here with two glowing hands. Curious as to what he had I was going to take him out until I did a con check. I was surprised to see that he conned red to me. Since I was not feeling suicidal, I decided to leave him alone.

All the guards in this zone seem to be notorious for having massive resists. I am a paladin, but when grouped with a mage he said he wasted most of his mana trying to cast on it because he only got his spells off about 15% of the time.

I am 15th Druid Hunting in Lavastorm....when ever I make a run to Freeport to bank I con him...he is always white or Yellow. Have only killed him once...every other time he has resisted snare and he hits to hard for a little halfling to take...hehe

Usually spawns at lavastorm canyon entrance by the rock, and reliably drops that bronze long sword.
