Was working fine when turned in ore today...whatever was broken in past appears to be fixed now.

Broken as far as I know to this day 23 Sept 07. Cannot hand in any ore to him ( States he has no use for the 4 ore and gives them back ) Has been petitioned and response from SoE was received stating they are aware of the problem. Nothing about a fix at all. I even tried giving him the 4 sapling from DS and still does the same thing.
