Speak with the friendly spirit in the tower at Nykantor Ruins and he will give you a wisp to follow you and "light your way in the darkest places".

There are areas on the ground around Nykantor Ruins that are black beyond ash or oil, and noxious fumes rise from the darkness. Stand near one and your Wisp friend will make visible what you only feared was there, a Shadowlurker!
