We spent 5 days up here doing the entire Hunter list and we think the placeholder for the named mob "Hunter" is one of the fast moving rabbits at the north end of the curved Roman Ruins.
what a pain. Trying to lvl up and he showed up with one of the wolves. Started porting all over the place. Finally, after killing mage's pet he vanished. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they just deleted this mob from the game. Loot is garbage and anybody killing stuff in this zone is just trying to lvl up and reach endgame.
It would not surprise me if this is a GM vehicle .. or at least sometimes.
I can see no discernable pattern to Hunter's movement at times... he's all over the place... teleports from bear caves to icegoblins to spiders. Then he's gone and then comes back.
No pattern at all.
And sometimes he's predictable as the mailman.
Doesn't seem to have any reliable "spawn rate" either.
Anyone knows the loc of Hunter and how to avoid him? Or is he a roamer? Got my lvl 7 shaman to Icefall (invis of course) and was killed when I was just next to the spell vendors, looking for the charm of lore ground spawn... as Nexxius wrote, the spell made 4000 damage... :-(
Killed my 15 zerker when i was in icefall to get the charm of lore ground spawn this is what i see in my log [Thu Sep 13 12:47:09 2007] You are stunned! [Thu Sep 13 12:47:09 2007] You are struck by a sudden force. You have taken 200 points of damage. [Thu Sep 13 12:47:11 2007] Decaying bones crush your body. You have taken 4000 points of damage. [Thu Sep 13 12:47:11 2007] You have been slain by Hunter!
------------------------ and yes, this mob is a pita. he constantly flees from party and then summons random person. He also has a huge agro range, like 200' or more. We never had to pull him...he'd jsut agro and start casting. other mobs in area do not assist, but takes a long time to get him into area away from other mobs to root...you have to move far enough away from him to force him to move, but not let him memblur self.
Once got in decent area, we rooted and dotted with 2 shm, with a warrior using bazu / mock to grab agro. Keep chaining roots & non-DD dots and any time shm summoned, back out fast & heal before can resummon.
Max hit from mob was 3098 on warrior with 2600 AC and not much shielding. Avg hit closer to 1500 with lots of hits below 800.
Chain root him... it's just that simple. Being rooted he will only attack the tank that is within reach. The rooter and healer will get summoned every once in a while when he blurs himself, but any tank should be able to pick agro back up.
Wow it was impossible lol.. he ran all over and would summon, run away summon, no stopping him he just ran and ran until he summoned everyone so far away and had tons of mobs on us.. Just bad luck, would have had to clear ALL the bears/Cats and even then he went so far away no chance :-)
This mob does a self mem blur or w/e u want to call it. Will switch targets continually....recommend non tanks stay back and maybe have a secondary tankish type to try and keep agro when it blurs. Other than that, pretty straightforward.
