Grand Historian Rygua says, 'You have chosen to explore the Catacombs of Dranik. I have heard tales of frigtening creatures of great power that lurk in the darkest shadows of the catacombs. Should you com across a dragorn known as Dragorn Marshal Greshka, or an ikaav enchantress known as High Enchantress Zy'chia, prepare yourself for a tough battle. The battle might be hard fought, but some would say the riches are well worth it.'

Get mission from Grand Historian Rygua in Ruined City of Dranik, not the same Grand Historian as in Dranik Scar.

Grand Historian Rygua is the NPC named at the top of this "Catacombs of Dranik A" zone entry... did somewhere else say something else that I need to update? [Not seeing an issue here]
55s can do this!

The Grand Historian gave this to our party of 55s. The Zone Level chart should be changed to reflect this.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zlvlchart.html

Quite a run to get there invising the whole group. The run to the mission itself was through reds that were stationary and didn't see through. Not difficult, but one wonders whether it was worth the effort.

The spawn rate on the Catacombs is faster than that of the Hollows instances from the other Grand historian. With 5 people in the party, all 55 (cleric, wizard, rogue, chanter) with a 56 warrior, we were able to clear each room but the first spawns were repopping as we moved forward.

Little time to med. All of us have defiant armor and weapons better than defiant. Each has over 100 AAs, except the wizard ad cleric who have around 40.

The mobs were all dark blue but had the extra hit points associated with the OoW expansion - comparable to GoD but without the excessive damage.

My guess would be a full group would be more successful in such a rapidly respawning dungeon.

I was with some guildies tonight trying to farm Catacombs. We got the mission 6 times and all 6 times the PH was not up on the wall. It has been about a year since I did my last sig farming in Catacombs but I have done it many many times and I thought the PH was up against the wall just to the right inside the room where the other PH's are.

Anyone else encountered this problem before?

Thanks

After you hail and say catacombs to the historian, ensure the message you get back says Elite Pixxt in it for the sig mob instance. If you get Marshall or Overlord, it is the wrong one for sig mob.

Need at least 3 people to start an instanced zone.Once you get it though, you can have the others drop to solo it if you want.Catacombs C is Master of the Watch for Sig mob.Unless you want to get exp,the easiest way to do this one is to have a person at the Grand Historian getting the mission while another person zones in to see if the Sig mob is up.There is sometimes a SI rat ,so just be careful. When you finally get the Sig mob up,make sure to HUG the wall.If he gets pushed out too far you will get a ton of adds.
multi-box here?

Does anyone know if there is a minimum number of players for this? It might be a nice multi-box opportunity :)

3 to get the expedition, same as dranik hollows. Difficulty level and named also depend on the level of the person that gets it.

Grand Historian is next to the Nobles Causeway zone in the Ruined City of Dranik. He's just outside the caste on the left...if you run into the open area past the castle, ya went to far. He's right next to the door-way. You can invis your way thru the castle to get to him, and un-invis once next to him.

Say "Catacombs" or "Sewers" to get the respective expedition. Sewers (so far) have been really close, while the catacombs are a bit of a run.

bah, I mean The Bloodfields, not Nobles Cause.....Ruined City of Dranik is off of Bloodfields.

wish I could edit!
Where do you find the door
# Oct 15 2004 at 8:14 AM Rating: Decent
I see that you need to talk to the Grand Librarian to get the Catacombs, but what zone do you find him in.

And what about to enter the sewars?

Thanks for your help.
How do you get a mission in Catacombs of Dranik's?
# Oct 14 2004 at 11:54 AM Rating: Decent
Can someone post on how to enter the Catacombs of Dranik? Who do you speak to? What do you say? Do you need faction? Do you need to be a certain level?

Explain it like you were explaining it to a child, just in case it is dificult ;).

Thanks

There are 3 different Catacombs you get... A, B and C... they have different nameds and different maps. Same goes for sewers.

Catacomb C you get when Grand Librarian talks about an Ukun and about Elite Pixxt K`illiga.

The Elite Pixxt K`illiga spawns in big room about 3rd way into zone, with brown wooden thingys all around the room. PH is Noc near east wall, halfway in room. EPK drops Dragorn Heirloom Battlemail and Noble's Burial Leggings.

The Ring dropper also spawns in that same room, Noc Scout is PH.

No idea where that named Ukun is in CatacombsC nor do I have any idea of CatacombsA or B.

There seems to be more than one instance of this zone. Murkgliders randomly see invis, but are still undead. The Rats and Bats seem to be Non KoS as in the Dranik Hollows Expeditions. All creatures are social with another.

We haven't figured out the Placeholders for anything yet. What is nice is the mob concentration is more dense versus the Dranik Hollows, so Track is much more useful here. The downside with that is the it is very tough to pull without adds, baring Paci Assist.
