good spell

i use this spell a lot for pulling singles. it works fine if you know how to use it. i can get single pulls in fate of the combine instnace for example, or can usually get singles or 2 in the blacksail folly island. Also used it a ton in the evidence of unity katta castrum mission to get singles and 3box/farm a ton of orux for mad plat~ Use it in direwind some too even though most of the black legion guys im hunting now are too high level for it

as for the duration it can sometimes wear off randomly.. if that happens i usually just start over from the beginning dulcifying the mobs 1 by 1 until all are dulci'ed that i want, then have tank tag from distance.
Difference between Dulcify and Pacify

just a clarification to previous post:

Dulcify, as well as lower level Placate do behave differently than our previous Pacification/Lull line.

there are 2 main differences of note,

1. these spells currently can wear off at anytime. they tend to not last for the full duration, often wearing off in the first tick; making them at most unreliable and inneffective. especially when you are dulcifying mobs of the same name, you have no idea which mob's dulcify just wore off.

2. these spells, unlike their predecessors, do NOT affect the mob's reaction radius. the previous pacification spells lowerred BOTH a mob's reaction radius (the range at which they notice you) AND their assist radius (the range at which they become social with other mobs).
Dulcify and Placate ONLY affect a mob's reaction radius:

meaning,if you have a group of mobs sufficiently dulcified, you can single pull a target(at range) and it wont bring friends.

however, due to the fact that dulcify/placate tend to wear off early, pulling can still be a disaster.

Dulcify and Placate are 2 situational spells that i use only on the rare occasion that a better puller cannot be found, or sufficient crowd control is unavailable. i find that rooting adds is a more mana efficient and reliable (rooting reliable?. . .phaw!) means of crowd control that dulcify pulling.
NOT A PACIFY SPELL

Just like Placate, this spell is NOT a lull/pacify.

Back in the day, clerics got pacification spells that had true lulls in them. You would cast it, calm the mob, and then for the duration of the spell you could walk up and kiss the mob on the nose and it just wouldn't care (unless you hit it of course). The pacify line was *great*, it was like a mini mez. It could suck much and pull a whole room on a fail, but was usually pretty reliable. Those spells were also very useful for running by a see-invis mob because you could make them not care if you jumped over their heads to get by them (as long as you ran quickly and didn't hang around to let pacify drop).

However, THIS spell does not work this way, and if you try to use it that way you will become agro-magnet. The mob still hates you. He wants to eat your face. He just isn't going to act on that urge until you are within 10 feet of him. That's *all* this spell does -- it shortens his "I'm going to kill you" radius to 10 feet.

If you don't know how close 10 feet is in game, I recommend taking this spell or placate out for a few test runs on some static mobs you can afford to pull onto your head -- cast the spell and then head up to them till the moment they agro. That's 10 feet.

This spell is pretty $%^&%$#@ useless inside a dungeon. You aren't going to use it to split pulls (unless you're in some huge room where the critters are 10+ feet apart already) and you aren't going to use it to run by see-invis mobs. If you have found a reliable use for placate and want to upgrade, then buy this spell...otherwise it's a nerfbat waste of plat.
