Stacking Update - PR now blocks another casting of PR

I have been grouping with my cleric (75) and a Merc Cleric in groups recently. My cleric is 75 - and the merc is only 73 - but when the merc casts Promise - I find my spell blocked - so the "Overwrite and Extra Wait" time issue seems to have been fixed.

On the downside - I have a lot of healing AA's - and of course the merc has none. The merc is able to time his spells with computer precision..... so I usually never cast it if in group with a Merc. I spam heal fast heals and do other things (Gotta LOVE Divine Arbitration!).

When the mercs run outta mana - then I can still save the group. I don't actually mind them - takes a lot of pressure off me - and lets me work on nuking, curing, and other useful things.

Now if they would fix the stacking of Vie lines - I could get the dam mercs to stop overwriting my 60 minute Vie with theirs that lasts 35.... =)

Hope this helps.

The Downside to Promised Renewal...

This isn't really meant to replace Complete Heal...just to supplement it.

You gotta keep in mind: Promised Renewals do NOT stack. If you cast this on the MT, and 6 seconds later another Cleric casts it on that same MT, the MT now has to wait 24 seconds for it to fire off. (First one counts down 6 seconds, then the second one lands and renews countdown to 18 seconds again.)

Not good when facing mobs who deal any appreciable amount of damage.

When grouping, sure, this should replace CH. At least with this, you can do something other than stand there and pray no mobs notice you while casting. But on raids, you'd better coordinate among Clerics to decide who casts Promised Renewal, and on whom they cast it. Otherwise, the next thing you know, you'll all be standing around at your Bind points, trying to explain to the tanks why they weren't getting healed.

Best way is to just assign 1 Cleric per tank/off-tank who will ONLY cast Promised Renewal on that 1 person. With the cast time on this, you can easily fire it off between CH casts (if in chain) or spam heals (if not in chain).
Love this spell

I dinged 73 last night, and scribed this spell. Our tank had 13.8k hp at the time, so we did some tests. I cast this spell when he got to 50% of health, and at one point it went off and healed him for 8500. Only once. The rest of the night, it would heal him for 11k, 12k, 10k, well over the 8500 point range.

During this time, when I cast it, I could then refresh tenacity on people, or the spell haste, or cast a nuke here or there, etc. I think it's going to replace the complete heal in my spell line up hehe.

Not sure where Benjiyardo is saying it heals 45%, unless Sony changed it from when he posted. It certainly healed my tank fully all times but once last night (10/28/06).

I was introduced to this spell last night by one of my guild clerics. I was Main tanking in Direwind, 71 pally, and even though the cleric had tried to tell me I will like this spell, I basically just focussed on maintaining aggro, since the mage and wizzy in the group were pulling agro off me a little too easily.

Suddenly, the message spammed my window that _I_ made an exceptional heal (on myself) for 17,000. I was momentarily distracted trying to figure out what had happened since I had not cast any heal and my Ward of Tunare self heal buff never gets over 618 points. That was when the cleric told me it was THIS spell that did it.

It happened many times last night and I was in heaven.

Definitely a very desirable spell from a tanking point of view since the benefits are obvious. Sony has finally came up with a new spell we will definitely put to a lot of use.

This spell can hit for 17000 (exceptional heal). However, I am not sure if it is based on the Clerics AA or some AA/item the tank had.

It's the target's AAs, not the clerics. Cast it on a SK with maxed crit heal AAs and watch him crank out 17k heals all day, Take that warriors!

Is this still the case? Does not seem to crit as much any more... warrior I group with has max aa's. I do not though.

Yes, this is still the case. I, on a beast, get crit healed for 19002 hp about every 6th cast. I have a 30% heal focus, max heal crit AA and rk 1 of heal bonus. It seems to follow my AA pattern not my cleric's. In fact, I started a big discussion in guild over whose AA gets used when it procs.

This seems to be a GREAT spell!!! Awesome for pullers in a big way sinbce ive seemed to draw no agro from it at all. Situations where you might have 2 tanks offtanking, Ramptanks, yourself, yah it will always be in my spell lineup. 500 mana well spent with the focus effects!
Amazing

This is an amazing spell! If it works as described, this will be one of the 'always loaded' spells in my book. This spell is also fantastic for Botting clerics in XP grind situations. It also helps clerics that want to melee with the new toys of TSS. Cast this at start in XP groups that can typically wait 18 seconds for a full heal and go to work. Or sit and rest for the several ticks instead.

This Spells places an 18 sec count down "buff" on your target at the end of the counter it heals them 100% - I have used it in situations already with some of the new TSS mobs that are groupable but hit for 6K and have erratic DPS output. Keeping this on tank, along with regular elixirs spam heals and DI helped counter some of those DPS spikes. I think it will have interesting raid applications - can't wait to use it.

It's not a 100% heal. From what I've read so far (don't have it yet myself) it's a heal for 8500, and is only effected by the target's healing aa's (if they have any). The heal focus is counted as if the target casted it, not the cleric who casted it.

It is not a pure-8500-hp heal. It heals 45% of the target's max health, up to about 8500-hp ... like shaman/druid pct heals.

And it does NOT draw any agro at all if you drop it on the target before they get agro themselves... so you stay in ooc-regen state.

They must have changed this from the time you got it and made this post to the time I got it about a month ago because it doesn't do a % heal, it does 8,500 heal which can crit off the targets AAs

I've used it...this spell rocks. What I'm woundering is if it causes aggro. It does act as if the target is the one doing the healing so it shouldn't.

I can confirm that it does indeed cause agro AFTER your target has engaged a mob... though sometimes it did not cause any agro but I know for sure at least once last night it did in BB - the gnolls were hitting on me right after i casted it.

This spell does not cause any agro at all. You even stay in ooc-regen state when it fires if you put it on the target before the target gets agro.

It has been healing 45% on targets up to about 8500 max, like a shaman/druid pct-heal. It is *not* a pure 8500-pt heal.
