if its a 3 wave rain, then allakhazam needs to say so, that would help avoid a lot of confusion.

Just a suggestion. Perhaps Sony should remove spells if they are unusefull and replace it with something else.

first off, I have to say it ... "unusefull" isn't a word.

second this spell is not useless. It's an AE rain meaning that it hits every tick for 3 ticks if the mobs stay in range.

28*3=84 ... not as good as icestrike (more mana and less damage), but when you're facing down 4 mobs it's nice to be able to fire this off while waiting out the icestrike cooldown timer.

Uh this is 41 dmg per wave. Icestrike is 16. How is that "more damage"?

I have to agree. Especially the higher level rains when stacked, and paired with a tank able to hold aggro, are exceptionally efficient. Until wizards get snare and decent pillar nukes, root/rain can be a viable method of killing. Keep in mind, SOE fixed the resist rate of rains long ago.
