Benefical dispel
# Apr 14 2010 at 6:07 AM Rating: Decent
This spell is a dispel spell that only affects beneficial spells on the target. It will remove one beneficial buff. It will not dispel slows, malo, snares, dots etc.
8 buffs or 1?

I dont know how to read the spell data or anything like that but if I cast this spell on myself, it only strips 1 buff. Does it do the same for mobs?
Curious to know...

If anyone finds a mob that is EXP at level 70 and seriously weak after this is cast, let us all know. You would think there would be one somewhere.

There are mobs in MPG and RSS that have a buff that reduces melee damage by like 75% (or something close to that) Its practically required to dispel. There is also an increase in hasted mobs and some pretty nasty DS's that should be removed.

So yes, you can vastly decrease the diffuculty of some enemies after this is cast.

I ran out of time doing the research to post here (at work), but I know that some of the dodh mobs are much easier to take down when debuffed first.

If your puller isn't pulling with a debuff clickie, hitting some of these dodh mobs with a debuff like this is critical.

As an example, I was in a 70.1 (dodh spell arc) easy group, and we were getting munched (a death on every other pull, just about) on our first run through the mission. After learning about the need to debuff the mobs, we were cruising through about 10 times faster with no deaths.

EDIT: found the dodh mob buff! https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=7042

As you can see, definitely something you want to dispell from the mob.

Description:
1: Increase Spell Damage by 50%
2: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
3: Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed
4: Increase AC by 300
5: Increase Attack Speed by 50%
6: Increase All Skills Minimum Damage Modifier by 50%
7: Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 20%
8: Increase Poison Resist by 100
9: Increase Magic Resist by 100

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 13 2005 at 4:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This spell is godly, It takes 9 Benifital ONLY buffs off a mob... If your like me and like to grind in rs.. and have noticed the wondering mobs stop at the parked mobs and cast. They are casting haste etc. This spell on inc gets almoust no agro and Adds to teh chanter/shammy/beasty slow on the mob due to the fact it takes off hte mobs haste buffs and such... I've seen a 12k warrior tank stay up with 3 mobs on him due to this spell.. makes rs mobs your bishes. Also rules in Pvp.

Well thought i'd let you know you are wrong about something.

haste and slow spells dont stack. Well at least the effects ... which is why slows or snares can be so potent to a lot of mobs ...

When slow lands on a mob the mob always loses the bonus to their haste and its a 75% (for shamans) slow to their natural attack rate.

If you don't believe me goto CoM see how fast mobs hit you in there pre and post slow then goto sebilis(SP) where a lot of mobs have a haste buff from a chanter and check their attack rate pre and post slow ...

You will note their attack rate when slowed is the same even tho the SEB mobs attack much quicker pre slow.

The most effective way to execute these tests is in a duel using a pet. The reason is that the pet is an NPC and follows NPC rules (spells on cast on PCs by PCs follow PvP rules and are very different). They have changed the stacking behavior of run speed spells a number of times so I'm not sure where this stands. They used to overwrite the SOW-like spells, not sure if they still do. I imagine the situation has been similiar for combat haste spells.

So if you want definitive answers on this, try it on a pet in a duel, log the outcome and calculate the results accurately. Make sure you have others missin you turned on. Get a baseline, of pet attack speed, haste him, log it, slow, etc.

How do I get this spell?
# Mar 01 2005 at 12:26 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know where this spell is found? Is it live? I was assuming it was a OoW spell, but I don't seem to show it listed.

Any help would be great :)

It's a cancel magic that only strips beneficial effects - IE buffs.. now we don't have to worry about stripping the slow or snare we put on the mob...
