Love this spell
# Oct 21 2008 at 9:31 AM Rating: Decent
I just wanted to and my opinion..
As a 74 Mag i use this spell and can't wait til 75 for the upgrade. i cast my 73 fire pet and put this spell on him along with Magma rk II and w/ summoned gear he has 88ds and tanks well as long as this spell does not wear off or get disspelled. My pets are normally Focused w/ "The Sweeper" he nukes for 2041 almost as much as my base nukes(More than my Quick nukes) Melees for about 86 iirc and has the fire proc weapons. i try to get him buffs with MGBs before i head out as yes i have PA as i've had since lvl 65 which is great when grouped. yes my earth/air pets can out tank but the amount of DPS this pet puts out well makes up for it. i usually use fire soloing in BoT for AA Xp he can tank 2 easily although when you add a kriger in there he seems to always loose Kindle which makes me chain heals but he does survive if i don't mess up and try to cast another longer cast spell while he's too low HP. but basically i just wanted to say i LOVE this spell. and Blazing stance is sure to a welcomed upgrade when/if i ever ding 75...

People need to check facts before posting incorrect things.

I do not say this spell is something to clap your hands for,
but to set people straight..

1:...ALL the standard elemental Mage pets uses mana.
They have a fairly low mana pool. They will cast their spells
whenever they have enough mana to cast ... NO, their spells is NOT proc's.

2:...If you dont believe this, try sick pet on something that drains mana,
like Quarg Malestrohm in OOT. You will notice the pet only cast's 1 or 2 spells
untill the drain hits it, then he will be OOM for the rest of the fight, unless you use a high lvl pet that resists it.

So This spell is usefull, if you solo .. without KEI and the Pet group buff AA's.

the extra mana regen will get you higher DPS from most pets, as long as the
mobs you are killing isn't too resistant

Doesn't suck for the other 3 at all because they don't use mana at all.

Here's my 2cp on this spell. it's only usefull for the 50+ fire pets that are considered wizzys. No other pets use mana. If you give a fire pet C2 or this they do cast a LOT more as their mana pool emptys they can't cast so they mele and they suck at mele. With this or C2 even in a fast group I've never seen my pet run OOM and stop casting all together. They pause frequently but with some form of mind candy it brings their average DPS up quite a lot... the low down is this. If you hate the fire pet, this won't make you like it. It does make the fire pet considerably better, but all in all the 52 one WITHOUT clarity or kindle is basicly pointless 49 fire has MUCH higher DPS... add in clarity and, assuming he never gets hit, this puts him up there with water or air though I haven't parsed any logs to confirm this, just from what I see.

So here's what I do. Solo, NEVER use fire, it WILL die and so will you. I prefer air because I prefer buffing and equiping to chain casting but if you plan to chain cast, it's a no brainer, use earth (root = valuable re-cast time if U need it). Duo I use water or air because ither can take a hit if your friend gets low on health, but if you're duoing let your friend put the pet behind and water will BS for some extra DPS. In a full on group personaly I like water if the tank is willing to put it in back to BS, if not (lazy/dumb/won't listen, etc. you know tanks *sigh*) then fire becomes a very good choice IF it has mana regen (or you're 52 because most groups freak out over a rooting pet...) but air is never a bad choice, esspecialy agains't casters because that stun sure helps when they plan on hitting you with a nice hard nuke. In conculssion to this CRAZY long post. KNOW YOUR PETS! know what they can and can't do, and if you're grouping know what the group wants/needs from you and suggest what they can do to make your pets better (cmon, it's not THAT hard to circle the pet to the back for an aextra 162points in BS every now and then... PLUS he nukes harder than air, cmon what's not to like about that?)

one last note... duo, necro or SK... fear + BS + other pet + dots + nukes = crazy exp and low down time

I have not seen much talk about the fire pet's newest spells. Seems like since that one patch a few weeks ago, my 52 fire pet casts a LOT. I have even started to use the fire pet in groups that have "slowers". I still have not decided on buying this spell ... may wait till i get the fire pet that casts the ice comet nuke.

Who knows, this might have only had the purpose to up the usage of the high level fire pets and make mages a bit more effective in groups. I would have still rather had a 3 to 10 mana regen spell for me tho. But best to look on the bright side cause humans like me can't see s*** in the dark 8P

These are just my ramblings ... like I said, maybe useful under conditions ... maybe not.
Very very nice
# Jul 20 2003 at 7:32 AM Rating: Decent
True we do get the short end of the stick when it comes to mana until real late into the game, but by the time you can use this, it will make a somewhat weak pet alot more useable. Before you get the level 52 Fire pet, you do not need to worry about pet mana. But since the Fire pet is considered a "Wizzy" for purposes of attack, this helps alot. If you have the Level 52 fire pet, and feel it isn't worth the trouble, give it one more shot with this spell.

They made a spell to regenerate our pets mana but not ours? All the caster classes in the game have an effective way to get extra mana. We mages have mod rods. Yes the wonders of mod rods. I can give 450 hitpoints to get 250 mana, but only every 5 minutes. Yes a lovely trade that. I can give up that many hp to not get enough mana to cast one of my spells. Now that is a sweet trade off.

Oh, I almost forgot our reclaim energy, yes that is a great way to get mana back, but then wait...that kills our pet and then we have to remake the pet and arm him. Now of course if you have the right skills I guess you can cycle pets. Cast, reclaim, cast, reclaim and so on. So lets hope you dont run out of malachite. Then of course you have the AA skill that lets you not consume malachite. So maybe its balances out.

Oh, also I cant forget the THUNDEROUS amount of mana regen we get from Transons Phantasmal Armor. Yes, that makes it all worth while.

However, when you look at it mages are supposed to be a solo character, then why do we have to spend AA, and LOTS of AA to be able to do what most casters get to do all the time.

It would be very easy and logical to make a spell where magicians can draw mana from the world around them. After all we are ELEMENTALISTS. You know, the stuff that makes up every damn thing on the planet. Being able to tap the elements around us for mana doesnt seem like that much of a stretch does it?

I am sorry, a useful spell? No, not even when you take into account the fire pet. Every other pet attack is a proc so more mana isnt going to help them. This is one more attempt at Verant throwing mages a hush puppy while everyone else sits down to the full meal at the table.

Well, sorry about the venom and the rant.

The point is that we're supposed to depend on our pets for a lot of our dps, thus not NEEDING so much mana. This spell helps with certain enemies that can't be hit my melee without special weapons.

In addition, at level 65, we've got the same regen as VoQ in our pocket. That's 5 from mod rods with Mana pres and spec conj, 8 from XPG, and 5 from ele siphon. If you don't mind it being brought down to 16 mana regen, you can go with elemental draw. Why should you be complaining? That's the same Enchanters get at that level, and they rely heavily on mana.

Edit: Oh, and FYI, with all our mana regen spells, we get 21 at level 70, while enchanters get 20.

So... yeah! Got crappy mana regen there, lololololololololz!!11!1!1!!1!@one

If you are lvl 49 and up and haven't tried pet cannibaliztion, try it. You will find you can go from zero mana to full mana in about 3 min. Not as convenient as KEI, but much quicker. Once you see that you will never ride to battle with less than 100 (200 for me) malachite packed. And you will never bother equipping a pet in ordinary circumstances again.

Cheers,

Unless you have the appropriate AA, like I finally have, pet canni is a waste of time. It works, but it leaves you totally vulnerable for a very long period of time as you have to remake your pet. Once you have the AA abilities, you can pack away your fully armed pet, pet canni to fm (w/o using any malachite) and then awaken your pet.

I still need to get the quick summoning AAs to make the process faster, but I can regen my mana to full faster than even a shammy can. As the other guy said though, until you get to this point there is nothing at all in the game that will help you regen mana as fast as all the other casters can.

Agreed.

The better thing to do would have been to simply increase the mana regen rate of the fire pets, instead of making us waste 314 plat on this spell.

I couldn't agree more. Was this spell added to pacify magicians after giving them a laughable pet at level 52? Yes, the fire (wizard) pet.

Think about it. Your pet is your tank. Who in their right mind would ask a wizard to be their tank?

Perhaps it's a good pet to use in groups, though after seeing it in action I decided to forget that it exists.

the 50+ fire pets were LEVEL 20 or so for dmg, not 20 pts.
looks like a waste
# Jul 10 2003 at 5:12 PM Rating: Decent
Looks like a complete waste to me so far. Regular pet attacks are more a proc effect it seemed to me. could be wrong but who knows, i used my pets for many many minutes in constant combat and they never stop casting or even slow down. Its possible that its made for the 50+ fire pets that are wizard type casters. never even seen one used in any type of serious fight, ever.

Has anyone tried the 50+ pets since they upped the level of spells pets could cast? All previous spells had effects of 20 or so spells and under for dmg and the like. up that about 20-30 levels and fire pets MIGHT be worth using again.

Maybe wrong someone let me know how good the effect of this song is before i waste money on yet another worthless spell.

I bought this spell and it changed to Elemental Empathy -- it is a lvl 52 spell and increases ur hit points, armor class, and magic resist, while increasing pet's attack speed, armor class and strength. This is what it states on the spell effect.
I see no crack on it.

if the spell listed is parsed from Lucy, then the chance of it actually existing is rather slim as Lucy reads the spell data from a global file that has components that apply to Test as well as Live..most likely Kindle is a Test spell if at all

Perhaps so they can cast more spells instead of going oom after about 30 seconds like the Child of Ro pet does right now? You know, the same way PCs need mana regen to do more dps?
