group effect?

I seem to be missing something. The spell description shows a target type of single, but there seems to be a consensus that this has a group heal. What's up?

It is rather a moot point, since i'll never see PoTime before EQ2. Just curious is all.

I realize this post is many years old, but what the hey..

The spell is set up the way it is for aggro reasons. Just procing a group heal would give the paladin more aggro than they apparently intended. By making it a DD with a recourse, the paladin only picks up 1 aggro from the single point of damage the spell does, and as always, recourses add no hate to the caster.

Light of Marr targets only the mob you're hitting, but it induces Light of Marr R. (probably Recourse) that is a group heal.
Nerfed.

Originally it did have a better effect. I believe it was orignally somewhere in the neighborhood of 750 point group heal over time. But alas it was quickly nerfed.

Arkiados, i could no tagree with ya more. Outside of PoT this sword would be great. Especially with the delay it has. However, to agree with Ansem,....this thing is pretty useless in POT ,and being a 65 pally myself,...I am sure i would use this weapon in fights with mobs up there,...but overall, the reward one is reaping compared to what it takes to get to this zone, and this mob,....a 150 pt heal is minimal and trivial at best. IMHO the heal could have been up'ed to something a little more substantial . Heck, if a guild found their way all the way thru PoTime and beat this bad boy,..give that pally a 90% rez clicky item!!!! Now that would be loot worthy of PoTime :P

It procs a heal. That's a pretty decent effect.

I grouped with a Pally wielding one of these in a LDoN group, and I was completely impressed by the weapon. Pally was maxed out on healing and crit AA's, and his procs alone kept our entire group healed for the majority of the dungeon.

It procs a GROUP heal. Only ONE tank, on the entire raid is going to be main tank, at any given point in time. Even if the pally weilding this happens to be MT at the time, there is a pretty decent chance that the rest of his group is receiving AOE/riposte damage. Simplifies the healers jobs a whole lot if the rest of their group is being proc healed, so the healers can concentrate on the MT. Plus, any tank who's had CH hit with 9 hp remaining, knows that an extra 150hp heal never hurts.

This isn't MEANT to replace CH on an MT even in a group grind situation. Its meant to reduce the small heals, etc needed on the non-tanks.

My usual grind group includes a paladin and an SK. Between the Pally's group heals, and the SK's group mana/hp taps, I rarely need to heal anyone except the SK, who usually is the tank.

This weapon would just add another group heal into the mix.

Except for the small fact that paladins in a raid situation with this weapon would not even be close to tanking, and with obviously maxed dex with having this weapon, a 150hp heal proc is pretty efficient for the delay of the weapon, save a cleric some mana for the MT...., plus when off doing other non planar things solo, a 150hp heal proc on 25 delay weapon is not that bad, solo a lot of old world bosses and boring camps for loot etc...
