On Rain Spells.

In another life I was a Wizard. Wizards get all kinds of rain spells. There are some tricks to properly using a rain spell.

For one, if you are concerned about mana, this isn't a spell for you. Typically, you will want to use a rain spell if you are wanting to max your DPS potential by:

1. casting your rain spell
2. while your rain spell is firing its 3 waves you use your regular DD spell

In essense you have the potential to hit a mob 4 times in the time that you would normally only be able to cast twice.

Now, there is some issues with rain spells. Parses have shown that rain spells have a hardcoded chance for resists (20%ish i think) aside from the regular resist check, which kind of sucks.....

Hope this information is useful.

Back in the day, and I mean *really* back in the day (1999) I was told not to waste my hoarded pp on this spell. From all I've seen, they were right.

its a rain spell. quick to raise aggro. not worth your time in a group or solo.
Where to find

You can also buy this spell from the druid vendors in Shadowhaven.

This spell description I think is inaccurate. When I cast Pogonip, I find that it is AOE and DOT, it seems to do three rounds of 62, not one. Each round appears to get resisted on its own accord. This can do up to 186 damage on each mob in a cluster, assuming they don't resist any of the 3 rounds.

If this doesn't seem right, make a reply with your findings.

This spell is not a DOT--if the NPCs move from the area where you originally cast this spell, they will not longer be hit by its effects.

Most rain spells move with the target. so it will hit them for all 3 attacks.
And if the mob runs to you.. you get to feel the effect too. not fun.
At least the rain spells i have tried stick on them.

Actually they don't move with the Target anymore...if they ever did...The spells in this line focus on the /loc of the MoB for their duration and only hit if the target remains in the range for the spell.

Absolutely not true...I use this spell to pull, and as the mob approaches, it is still getting hit by it. ( I have it snared, so that I don't get hit with the spell.
