Went to western wastes on my 84 Beastlord to get this spell for my ranger and killed any of the Named Dragons I would come across. My first dragon kill of Yal actually gave me this spell, the rest of them werent so forthcoming.

I've just hit 55, and I'm having some trouble locating this spell. My hunts in Velious haven't turned it up yet, and I have yet to see this in the Bazaar. I've also checked the Library in New Tanaan and the East Commonlands tunnel (June 2003) and they haven't mysteriously appeared on vendors (darn!).

The information here is pretty spotty, so I've been scouring other sources, trying to sort out where to hunt for this. Here's what I've found:

Confirmed specific drops:
Plane of Mischief: Lithiniath
Plane of Growth: A Phase Puma, A Sylvan Protector, Grahl Strongback
Velketor's Labyrinth: A Velium Hunter, A Velium Stalker, Crystal Guardian, Icy Guardian

From this collection of sources, and since other high level spells have dropped along with it, it seems clear it's on a random loot table. Unconfirmed statements suggest it can drop from mobs in any of these zones: Plane of Growith, Plane of Mischief, Kael Drakkel, Velketor's Labyrinth, Siren's Grotto, and Western Wastes.

If you have any concrete information about where you found your Call of Fire scroll, please post it here. Looks like it could be a long hunt with many folks leaving Velious in favor of the Planes of Power.

I believe Call of fire proc 65dd with an additional effect of being able to interrupt casters. this interrupt is a stun type of effect (even though it doesn't stun the target) and some mobs will be resistant to it. If i am off a bit, please let me know.

You are exactly right, it has a 65 DD, and the stun effect of which you speak is actually a stun that lasts 0.0, so it doesn't halt movement, but spells and combat.

With Dex around 250, this procs at least twice and often four or five times in every combat, so it's highly useful if you are soloing, or fighting caster types in a group. I'm 62, and I always have this spell up when I go into combat.
Be advised, however, that it generates a TON of aggro, so if you melee in the planes (POV springs to mind), this spell is a very good way to take aggro off the tank and get a quick port to PoK.
I always look for this spell in the Bazaar, and have found maybe ten there in the past two years. I always pick them up and hand them to guild rangers, seeing how rare it is and how utterly impossible it is to get for a soloing 55 ranger.
