FP guards are snack food. Who needs good FP faction? For that matter who needs good faction in Qeynos,Kaladim, Felwithe, or Kelethin. They're just a source for more snack food.

For Beastlords yes. SKs can get a somewhat Ok Tunic.. For Shamans NO and for Warriors, no. There's a few items you can get, but they still don't have the "newbie armor quests" that many of the other races have. They gave it to the beastlords with the Ruthless leather quests. It may be in an update sometime.

You can get some rawhide by doing the lizard tails quest, but the Mesh armor you get in the newbie area is nicer. Also, you can get this https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=1520 a little later. VERY cool gloves.

This is out of date. Ogre SKs have nice newbie armor quests. The tunic is still available but who needs it. Go for the full on newbie armor. I just finished it and my Ogre SK looks like a proper goon.

So, you are a young troll or ogre, and you want to make a lot of cash?

Everyone says "go kill frogs", don't they?
Want something safer, that makes a TON of money?

Go to North-east feerot, the edge of the zone. Spend a couple hours whacking spiders and spiderlings. a level 5-9 character can get about 200 in 3 hours.

Now get a tairlors kit, put two, unstacked, silks in, press combine. Stack up the threads you get.

Takes these threads somewhere where there are high level characters. North Ro, East Commonlands, Freeport are all good. Better is Greater faydark. Best of all is the bazaar.

Do an auction to sell them. I get at least 2 plat per thread, 3 in the bazaar, and have gotten as many as 4 plat per thread.

Think about that. You are level 7. You spend two hours killing spiders. You get 100+ threads from it. You sell them all to one buyer for 200-400 plat. You sell them all within two minutes of auctioning in a busy area. A level 7 character, untwinked, with 400 plat.

People think I'm twinked. I just farm a hundred to two hundred spiderling silks every time I come back to train.

Oh, and imagine how much cash you make when you are also buying any silks you find sold in the stores? I bought 100 from a shop once. Boom, instant 100-200 plat.

There are certain things you need to know:
Dont bother selling anywhere near home. The tailors who hunt near feerot already know how easy it is to get silks this way.
Don't argue over a price. If someone can't afford two or three play for a thread, they sure wont be able to afford 1000 plat for the pile you have.
Really try hard to get to the bazaar. You'll fetch top dollar there.
If you don't get a buyer right away, either go where there will be more buyers, or drop the price. Don't mess around. It's too easy to make cash to be worth auctioning for hours looking for a buyer. When the right player sees your auction, they'll buy you out. I had one buyer take 3k plat worth of silks off me in three days. After the first buy, every time I logged in he sent me a tell, and he came to where I was to buy every night, instead of vice versa.

Hope I see some better equipped ogres and trolls out there!

RE: Warrior Guilds?
# Oct 25 2002 at 1:21 AM Rating: Decent
Umm, I'm not sure about the troll city, (but I wouldn't be surprised that you could) but when you find yourself far from ogguk, you can train for certain at the warrior's guild in shadowhaven without worry. All you have to do is a relatively simple quest that takes no longer than five minutes with the trade commissioner, in order to beef up enough faction to train there.

If you do the Halfling Raider Quest in Neriak, at the warriors guild a few times, kill halflings outside of Neriak to get the skullcaps, about 3 or 4 times doing the quest and you should be able to train in Neriak. You just need to hand him 4 Halfling Raider Skullcaps to do the quest. Merchants seem to have them all over in Neriak. They tend to get somewhat expensive though. So I'd suggest bringing up your faction with the rest of neriak first. Hand in a few bottles of Red wine to a guy in the 3rd quarter. That brings up your Darkelf guards faction for inside and outside of Neriak AND the merchants. I'm currently ally to all of them. So it is well worth your time to get another home city you can resupply in instead of going through the laggy Shadow haven/bazaar any more than you have to, or all the way back to our home town. Good Luck to you!

ok, ogres r nice, they have nice stats, they regen life slightly faster than other races and they cannot be stunned when bashed head on with their target. Those r some nice PROs but the biggest CON is they take a reely reely long time to lvl, it may take 2 times the exp to dong to lvl 60 with an ogre vs a halfling

So you want to take your big Ogre into the high class city of Freeport eh? Well this will go for all evil classes. This is my recomedation for shopping and getting past guards.

1) Fight the newbie stuff and the little lizard camps for a bit. Then travel up to east Commons at lv 8 to 14 to fight orcs there (orc 1 or 2) and get your merchant faction up for in the commons. Then head off to Oasis to get yourself up to 16.
2) Once you are 16 head off to High Hold Pass. (HHP) There right after you you zone in from Kithicor Forrest is the Orcs spawn point. There is always a group there ask to get on the list. hehe Stay there, if you run further on down the pass you will run into the local guards and find yourself returning to home point. Fight orcs for about a level of xp. Head over to where you can see the guard Captin above the arch or the little volunteer below it. Con them and se if you are dubious yet. If not commence with the killing again. My Ogre War is agnostic and was Dubious after a little over 1 lv of xp. My main however is a shaman follower of Rallos Zek. He took about 2 and a half levels to hit dubious. No biggie you will want to stay there and lvl up to 20. Collect the orc scalps!! Turn them into the capt on that side of the zone for good faction hits! Once you are dubious to the guards you can travel around the zone and group or solo at the Gnolls near the other side of the zone. Save their scalps too. They turn in to the Capt near where they spawn.
3) Now you are level 20. Time to go inside the keep for xp. Watch out for the stupid bard inside the first courtyard. She will aggro on ya if you come to close or stand there to long. Just stay to the right and run past. Although by the time you leave there you may as well kill her a few times just for the fun of killing bards. ;) Down below the bank is where the pickclaw gobbies hide out. Go down the stairs and stop at the bottom of the second set of stairs from the bank. See if you can get into the stair group. Other servers may set up opposite from the stairs in a little nitch. Forget what they call it atm. /shrug Anyway on Vazelle it is the stairs group. At 20 almost all the gobbies are red to you. But grouped with a couple higher level characters and oyu will shoot up fast. I have made 4 levels in four hours with a good group and all of the basement to ourselves. Anyway stay at the stairs until at least 22. Then you can try to get into the warrior room further down stairs from the stairs. If you are grouped at the stairs you should know what they gobbies are like from the trains that are brought by from time to time. Lol At anyrate the whole time down there collect the pickclaw ears. Like the scalps you turn them in for faction. Nice thing is these give faction to Freeport for the guards. It will take several levels of collecting ears to be able to get to dubious to the guards. You can stay here until around lv 34 if you want. Also YOU CAN BIND ANYWHERE IN EITHER HHK OR HHP ZONES! Do so, or it will be a long corpse run for ya.
4) Those gnoll scalps that you turned in also provided a little boost to Quenos faction as an aside. But head to Freeport, go in there and do the Rebby quest. It gives you some good factions. Freeport merchants, the theives guild, and Quenos guards. Takes about 40 trips to ge the merchants to talk to you in the city. The rogues will be ally long before you get up really high with any of the others.
Extra) Kill bandits in the Karanas for more Quenos guard faction. That makes crossing the bridge from NK to SK a lot safer...cept for the occasional monk. P

There that will get you into two major stop off points on the Antonica mainland. Just remember to avoid running past to many bards and mage guilds...or pallies and clerics for that matter. hehe Anyway enjoy the factions and shopping. You still have to watch where ya go but it will be a lot better than what you were before.

In my opinion Ogres make the best shaman. There are several reasons. First is we get the most starting stat points are they are distrubted more toward melee stats that most other races. Second is we get good night vision ( I guss only barbs and maybe Vah shir dont). But the best reason is that we cant be stunned from the front in melee combat. Any ogre can go buy an Iksar regen BP to get troll/iksar regen but there arent any items in the game that I know of that allow non ogres to not be stunnable from the front. Another plus is atleast on my server 85% of 50+ shamans are barbs so being a 50+ ogre shaman is a bit more rare. Ogres shaman can melee still into the low 50's against XP giving mobs if you play them like a hybrid. My shaman has 200 offense and 2hb and 194 defense--he can occasionally out aggro a hybrid class in melee with alacrity and SCHW. This was my first character and as many other classes that I play I always come back to my Ogre Shaman. We can truly do it all and if you play the class for everything its worth you have more versatility than any other class/race combo.

RE: Faction in NFP as an Ogre SK
# May 01 2002 at 12:19 PM Rating: Good
50 orcs? Haha. Lightweight.

To convince the Paladins of Marr to let you into their corner of Freeport, you'll probably have to kill a THOUSAND or so orcs. The faction hit given for killing an orc is quite small.

Of course, if you're hellbent on only getting into NORTH freeport, you can always kill the Militia guards. Too low level to kill guards? Find someone who is, and hit the guards they attack once. You'll get the same faction hit as those camping the guards. This will improve your NFP faction a lot quicker than orcs will. Of course, getting past the guards in WFP to actually get to NFP will be considerably more hazardous...
newbie zone sucks
# Feb 22 2002 at 11:55 PM Rating: Good
If you make an ogre I very strongly recomend that you have a druid friend port you to WC and bind at the WFP newbie zone. (away from guards of course) The newbie zone in ferrott is so awful, monsters are sparse and the zone is easy to get lost in. If you don't have a high level druid friend, make one before you create an ogre.

No way is The Feerrott Ogre newbie zone that bad anymore. Since there are no CRs until 10 and no XP loss until 11, the pressure is off. Just pick fights with everything that croaks, squeeks, hisses, howls, growls, or roars and you zoom up the levels in no time.

Because so many people still believe the tired old story on this zone, there is not much competition (not much opportunity to group either) as lots of folks cut out running for other zones straightaway after starting their characters.

Just make sure to start out hanging a left as you come out the Ogguk entrance (keep going until you see an "altar" with stones around it -- as good a landmark as you get here starting out, Bup's hut, and the hut with Innkeeper Morpa and Murga), working your way gradually south and/or east with experience, skills, and levels gained.

Don't cross the bridge until 9-10 or with a good partner or a group.

Sure you die some, the guards are too far off to be of any help anyway, and the NPC Ogres couldn't care one bit that you're getting your head bashed in. You chose an Ogre to be babysat by nitwit kill-stealing Zorro Zombie Squad guards like some tasty-treat hobbit? Tape a popsicle stick to it and get back out there!

Our newbie zone doesnt suck, its just not the best in the game. Getting to level 5 is easy. It used to be a hell of alot harder to get much past 5 in Ferrott, but since Luclin came out they added bears to Ferrott, which is nice since you can make armor out of it that you can actually wear. The bears and skeletons can get you to 12 or so easy, but ( for shamans anyways ) you can leave this area at 9 when you get SoW to go elsewhere easily. Beware now that what used to be inside of Cazic Thule temple is now outside, so dont journey over that bridge. Yeah it can be confusing to get around in at first, so I'd advise using sense heading as much as possible ( and true north as a shaman ), and write down the coordinates to the Oggok entry ( around 1400, 900 if I remember correctly ).

Do Ogres Regenerate?

Please Somebody Let Me know.

Do Ogres have enhanced regeneration?

When I first began EQ a while back I picked up the prima's EQ stategy guide to help me learn the basics of the game and help me learn about the class/races and in it it stated that ogres had the enhanced regeneration but many sites like this one fail to mention it.

I would greatly appreciate any input into this matter, as I am considering starting a warrior and would like to have enhanced regeneration.
